Question: should there be a legal limit to the number of children you can give birth to? i want your opinion if there should a legal limit to the number of children you can give birth to? why or why not?
Answer: Only if you're willing to also limit based on IQ and financial status.

Although, I would like to see a readdressing of qualified citizenship. I feel you should have AT LEAST a high school diploma. (and since it's free, I'm not discriminating)
Question: Should your financial status determine the number of children you have? I dunno if this is the best question, but some "young" woman in Bellflower, Ca, had octuplets after having 6 children ALREADY!! She lives with her parents and is most likely single. What is wrong with people? Wasn't 6 enough?? Geez, I don't want to spend a dime on this family's welfare crap. How can she possibly afford 14 young lives? Should there be a limit to how many children a person can have, specifically if the person does not have the financial backing?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090131/ap_on_re_us/octuplets
It took 46 physicians to assist with this crazy woman's obsession. 46!! How much does that cost, and see how this idiot takes doctors away from attending other patients?
With no father and this woman's lack of personal responsibility and moral values, these kids are probably prospectives for gangs. Grr, this lady needs to be exiled!!
People, stop being so protective of human rights here. If you are such liberal humanitarians to say you're not going to judge this person for her obsessive compulsive disorder for having a right to bare children. you're CLEARLY NOT looking at the big picture. You're only concerned with RIGHTS. However, you live in a society where such a decision will affect it. The biggest affect will be on the children. Any of you who would subject a child to this insane rationale is being ignorant and foolish.
It is not my repsonsibility to raise her children so I don't want a penny of my tax dollars spent to help her. I have my own financial responsibilities.
Seriously people, this is not about freedom of choice, it's about accountability and practicallity.
Answer: We would hope that people would have enough sense to not have more children than they can afford to raise well. That said, many poor families raise great kids and Hollywood is very public proof that rich families can raise brats.
I agree with your concept though, if you can't feed them, don't have them. Every kid does not need an xbox, they do however need to eat and be clothed and have a roof over their head. I you can't even do that why continue to have kids and expect someone else to pay for them.
Question: Is there a cap on the number of children the government will cover under welfare? Up to how many children are covered in the US under the welfare program?
I am asking because I've read that the woman who recently had octuplets already had 6 children prior to giving birth to the octuplets, and she was already on government assistance. It would be absolutely absurd if the government forked over more money to that ignoramus.
Answer: We are talking about a mentally ill person here. This story is tragic on sooo many levels not the least of which are these poor children.
So what are some of you saying here...don't abort because that would be murder, but starve them once they are born?
Question: What do you think is the ideal number of children to have? I've heard people say that it is better to have an even number of kids instead of odd like two instead of three b/c one would get left out.
Answer: However many you can have and not be financially dependent on the government and maintain a positive relationship w/each of your children. For me that is two, for others it might be 10.
Question: What do you think is the ideal number of children and why? 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or more
How many children do you have?
Answer: the ideal number of children is what a couple can financially and emotionall afford to have and want. For some people that might be 2 for some it's 6 and for some it's none.
Personally we have 4 boys (including twins) and for me 4 is ideal. We decided after our 4th that we were content with 4 children and so my husband had a vasectomy. For us more than 4 would be too much but before we had 4 we felt like we still wanted more. So again the ideal is different for each family and I think most people know when they have reached their ideal amount.
I think people also need to take into account how each additional child will affect the children they already have. The choice to have another child will affect the whole family and should not be a selfish decision, it should be one that will be good for the whole family.
Question: what is the largest number of children a person ever had? I saw this lady on television with 17 children and she was going on to the 18th. I was really impressed because i love large families but still i wondered how she did it.
Answer: I read in the Guiness World book of Records that over 200 years ago, a woman in Russia gave birth to 69 children.
taken from the site http://thelongestlistofthelongeststuffatthelongestdomainnameatlonglast.com/most43.html
Between 1725 and 1765 Mrs. Feodor Vassilyev had 69 children from 27 pregnancies which included 16 sets of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets.
Question: Would you send your child to a school that has a high number of children with special education needs? The nearest school to where we would like to move has very poor performance results because there is a lot of children who have disabilities in the school but yet it is still a mainstream school. Would you send your child?
Answer: This is a toughie! am not a parent myself but as a teacher I am aware of the issue. To be frank if your child works hard and is motivated they will achieve in ANY school - in fact if they are at the top end of the ability in the school this can help them become even more motivated. I would obviously look carefully at the way the school is run too. What is the ethos of the school? What does the latest Ofsted say? What provision is there for Gifted and Talented students? Also you could arrange to have a guided tour of the school on a normal school day - this you are entitled to do. This may well help you get a true picture of the place- warts and all!!
I have worked in challenging schools and can honestly say able children can and often do well. Best of luck with it and never ever feel that you cannot ask the school questions... the education of your child is so important.
Best wishes
Question: What is the number of children allowed in a in home day care in knoxville TN? Can you have more than 4 children if your home not counting your own children
Answer: Really, you should talk to dhs about child care licensing and restrictions.
You do not count your own kids, but if you plan on more than four additional kids, you need to undergo the licensing program.
Group Day Care Homes with One Caregiver:
(I) If any number of children up to the maximum of fifteen (15) children are
present, and no child is under three (3) years of age, at least one (1)
caregiver shall be present.
(II) If over twelve (12) children are enrolled, the additional children shall be of
school age and a school age program shall be provided.
Question: What is the maximum number of children you can claim on your taxes now before you don't get any additional $? My ex remarried and she has two children plus they now have another on the way any day. That would give him 3 children to claim and I wanted to talk to him about me being able to claim both of OUR sons on my taxes next year. I don't think he will do it if claiming one of ours will give him more money back. But if he doesn't get additional money he wouldn't have a reason to say no.
Answer: the criteria from IRS to ascertain the parent who is entitled to the child exemption is the parent the child spends the marjority 'nites', ie if the children sleep at your house the majority of the year, you claim them
it no longer matters if you have court orders or not, the determination by IRS has been effective at least the past two years
Question: Why does interviewer want to know the number of your children? Does anyone have any idea why interviewer wants to know the marriage status and the number of children for applicant? which is not related to the job.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you
Eric
Answer: Usually it is just to learn more about you.
Legally they can't ask those questions and they should not be on job application forms. Once the question has been asked, it is up to you to decide how you will answer. There is no hard-and-fast rule for answering these types of questions; just don't automatically become defensive.
If you feel comfortable talking to that person and you don't feel that answering the question will hurt your chances of getting the job, just answer. If you don't feel comfortable answering it, you could ask how that information is relevant to the position you are applying for.
Question: How to serve papers for sole custody when the father is MIA? I want to request sole physical & legal custody of my son, but I cannot locate my ex. He has disconnected his phone number & his friends/family will not give me his contact information. How do I go about serving him if I cannot find him? I live in TX & he lives in CA. He has not been in contact with our son for about 3 months & before then he was in & out of my sons life for the last 6 years
I want full Phy & leg custody because there are times where I have to have his consent to do certain things...also I do not want him to have any say in any decisions I make for our son.
Answer: apply for custody and put the last address you had for him his mothers address when he don't show up for court you will get sole custody without a fight

My parents think that i don't make good choices in my life and they are trying to take it to court but i don't want it to go to court. Question: What is the likely hood that I would get sole custody of my child without a big mess? My son is 6 and has not seen his father in 5 years. Can I apply for sole custody without a lawyer and court cases and all of that if the father has not been in the picture and I have no contact with him with nor his where abouts?
Answer: almost definitely!!
without a doubt almost. esp if they cant find him to serve the papers.
go to the court and tell them you cant afford a lawyer and would like to know how to go about getting custody of your son since the dads not in the picture and hasn't been for 5 years. they might wonder why you even want to do something about it then but it just saves a big mess for in the future when he does come around.
Question: Can I get Sole Custody and still make the father pay child support? The father of my unborn child wants to be part of the child's life. He already has 2 kids that he does not take care of or ever sees. I do not want him seeing my child. I have seen him with his kids and he is not a good father. He didn't even change his one babies diapers for over 7 hours! I want to get sole custody and never let him see the child but can I still get child support from him, I need the money.
Answer: It is possible for one parent to receive full custody, but there has to be a very good reason for any judge to do so. Unless you can demonstrate that the father has exceedingly bad character or is a genuine danger to the child, it's not likely.
Regarding support, the only circumstance under which the father will not be responsible for it will be if he elects to give up his parental rights AND the baby is adopted by another person who will take financial responsibility.
Question: how does long distant visitation work for sole custody? I live over 1000 miles from my childrens father. What is standard visitation during the holidays and summers in cases like this where i have sole custody? The children are both under 7.
Answer: standard is what ever the judge tells you or what you both can work out......whatever it is MAKE dang sure you are ok with it.
for instance the judge ordered me to send my daughter [NOTE not both of the kids, just the girl] at the age of 15 for over a month from the UK to the USA to a man that she had met for a WHOLE 15 DAYS in her entire life [and that was back when she was 4] The same child had also wrote to the court and stated that she felt that at this point in her life she would rather not be FORCED to see this person until such time as she was ready............ the court then passed down the whole 4 week bullchit and I get to pay half of the air fare and this was to a man that had NO fixed abode....
When it comes to this make dang sure that maybe a grand parent can escort the kids or you meet half way etc etc either way make sure it is very clear cut and try to get as much worked out before you get to court and make sure you have a good lawyer.
GOOD LUCK.
Question: How do I go about getting Sole Child Custody of my baby in NM? The baby's father has threatend to file for sole custody after I have the baby. He has not been apart of our lives since I was 2 1/2 months pregnant and I am expecting at the end of the summer. I want to get sole custody before he does. We are no longer together because he is verbally abusive and has stalked me several times. He has also sent me harrassive text messages. What should I do?
Answer: Nothing at this point. You are the childs MOTHER. He cannot have a maternal bonding with the child. Unless you are a hard core drug user and the baby is positive for a drug withdraw at birth there are no grounds for his taking the child. The average court system recognizes the mothers birth right to the child. What you can do is NOT put him down as the father on the birth certificate. Make him prove (at his expense) that his DNA is part of the childs make up. IF he gets on the birth certificate as the father he then becomes responsible for child support, whether you are married or not. He can try to take the child (sole custody) but the majority of the courts will not do so due to the age of the child.
If he files get an attorney. You can file an harassment charge against him (with proof) and have a restraining order against him.

Question: How can I get sole custody of my son? I had to call police once this year on my ex boyfriend who kept my son longer than he stated and left no info on his whearabouts. I eventually got him back but the officer said the father had as much right to him as I did since he was the father, and was on the birth certificate. At the time all of this went on my ex was living in my home b/c he refused to work and get out. My ex is out now and I want to make sure I am not in this situation again. How can I get sole custody of my son.
Answer: I am sorry to say that will be a task hard to do.
Depending on what state you live in, there are different laws.
The standard in most states is he will get 1st, 3rd and 5th weekends of every month and Every Thurs from 6-8 pm. He can pick up your son Friday at 6 and he has to have him home by 6 Pm Sunday. They will make you Joint conservators which means he has right to school religion doctors etc but you will have the so to say sole custody.
He will have to follow the support and visitation order but if he screws up, they will not take away any right he has. They will eventually put it into a safe program where you would have to drop off the child and come back later while dad visit supervised. All states look at the best interest of the child. As all should.
Question: Where do I go to file for sole custody of my baby and child support? I'm single not married to my boyfriend but i am leaving with him and mother, where can I go to file for sole custody of my baby and file for child support? Also do I have custody of my baby even though I'm leaving with the boyfriend which his the father of my baby?
Answer: I'm going to assume you mean LIVING with as opposed to leaving. You need to contact your county child support office - look in the phone book in the government pages. They can establish paternity and get a child support order. As for sole custody, as long as you live with the father - why do you want sole custody? If you really want SOLE custody, you need to move out of his mother's house, hire an attorney, & prove why this man does not deserve joint custody.
Question: how much does it cost to file for sole custody in south carolina? Wondering if anyone knows how much it cost to file for custody and a divorce in South Carolina? Needing to get a divorce and wanting to file for sole custody of my 3 kids. Could the father get me for an unfit mother when I have taken care of my kids well me and My Fiancee of 1 year together and the father hasn't seen them but once in the past 7 months.
Answer: It depends on if he contests. If he is not willing to make an arrangement pre-court. this is not something you want to do without legal counsel, one mistake in completing a procedure can cause you to lose all visitation rights. The lawyer in question will include any filing fees in his costs.
Question: can my ex use the fact that im on probation to gain sole custody? I am on probation for battery. I got into a fight with my daughter. She is an adult. I am seeking help for my issues and my daughter and i have built our relationship back. Would a judge over turn the already existing order of my having custody for her to gain sole custody due to this fact?
Answer: I'm fairly certain that she can
:{
That doesn't necessarily mean that she will GET sole custody.
They'll look at the best interests of the child. If she's got a bad record, then she wont get the child.
