Review And Adjustment
Periodic process in which current information is obtained from both parties in a child support case and evaluated to decide if a support order needs to be adjusted.
Question: What can I list as reasons for review of child support case? I live in the state of virginia and am filling out the paperwork currently for a review/adjustment of my child support order. I am the custodial parent and am requesting the review since the last review which was 2005. I am curious as to what I actually can put as the reasoning for the review, that the judge and persons reviewing it will consider. I have since moved into a home where the rent is much higher, $200+ more. Also my son started school last year, which was a change for us and insured NEW expenses. I *heard* the non-custodial father has a really good job and has one for some time and is ordered to pay the amount that he was when he wasn't even employed.
Answer: By federal law, there should have been an automatic review a year ago.

Question: how do i report a civil surgeon who refuses to review my vaccination records? i am applying for an I-485 adjustment of status, as a K1 visa holder, i should only submit form I-693 vaccination supplement as per USCIS instruction. He said i need to do all the physical again. (some kind of racket?) when in fact i dont need the physical (i called USCIS), just the vaccination record. HELP! i need to report this civil surgeon!!
Answer: 1) Did you have an exam by a physician already (most likely yes)
2) Was the physician qualified to do that type of exam
3) How long ago was the exam
4) Did you bring a copy of the exam with you to the civil surgeon?
5) Is there a reason he might susppect that something is not right?
Let's not hang the guy without at least finding out if there is a reason!
Question: Can I file Adjustment of Status (I-485) without Immigrant Visa Number? My wife is a Legal permanent resident (green Card Holder) staying in the United States. She applied an I-130 application and the USCIS website shows my status approved and is in the review process, But I have not received any Immigrant Visa number yet, Can I file Adjustment of Status (I-485) I am currently in the US with a valid B2 visa.
Answer: You can not adjust status no.
First of all, what has been approved is only the I-130. This simply serves to prove a relationship exists between you and your sponsor so that the file can continue on. It does not grant nor guarantee any immigration status.
Secondly, in order for you to be eligible for Adjustment of Status, a visa number has to be readily available and since your wife is a legal permanent resident and not a Citizen, that number won't be available for 4-5 years. See the Visa Bulletin linked before for more information (you would be second preference in the family category).
If she gets her Citizenship in the meantime, the application can be changed and a visa number will be immediately available.
Be aware that if you stay longer than your current visa allows, you could find yourself in hot water and your application in jeopardy.
Good luck :o)
Question: What's the best way to ask for a salary adjustment? I started my job a little over 6 months ago, but I feel I asked for too little. Considering my experience, my skills, my (very positive) reviews and the responsibilites of the position, and the fact that my salary falls below the average for my position, Is it appropriate to ask? And who do I go to, HR or to my boss?
Answer: I would wait it out a year. You need to have enough experience and prove to your bosses and co-workers that you work hard and do quality work. They want to see results before considering your offer and you really should go into that conversation talking about all the excellent things you've done and brought to the company. Most places give you that opportunity during an annual review as well. Sometimes companies are on a budget and they might not be able to pay you more, so you have to feel it out and prove your worth.
Question: Salary adjustment moving from non-exempt to exempt? I am a team leader in a technical support center. My employer is planning on changing my position status from non-exempt to exempt. It's rumored new responsibilities will include doing reviews, write ups etc. My question is how much more should I ask for as an exempt employee? It requires at least 45 - 50 hours a week to do my job now not to mention the additional responsibilities.
Answer: The norm is 20-30%, considering that you will no longer be paid for overtime work.
Question: academic adjustment related Ph.D thesis? academic adjustment related review of literature and some other thesis and definition of it
Answer: That's supposed to be a question?
Try again.
Question: Performance review & Annual Self Appraisals? I took a job offer without negotiating for the salary. After 8 months here, I definitely know that I am under pay. This month we are having our performace review done. Should I ask for the adjustment or increase in my Annual Self Appraisals? Thanks!
Answer: If you work for a large company, it's too late by the time you get to the review. Ask now.
Question: What's the journal entry to record a nondeductible expense? I'm doing a review of a client and preparing income-tax basis financial statements. We need to record an adjustment for the portion of meals which is non-deductible (50%). The obvious journal entry for this would be a credit to the expense but where does the debit go? Initially I was thinking retained earnings but then that would essentially be hitting r/e twice if I'm correct.
Also, would anyone know for sure if the statement of operations for a s-corp would include the non-deductible portion? Or would net income be recorded not including the non-deductible portion. THANKS.
Answer: The reconciliation of Income (Loss) per Books with Income per Return is done on Schedule M-1, Line 5 of the Corporate Tax Return.
Question: Annual Performance Review Advice? Background:
Employed w/ company & worked with same supervisor for six years.
Saved company over $50K last year.
Usually receive a COLA adjustment (avg 2-5%) over the years
After every review, additional responsibilities are added and privy to more classified info
I am seeking raise negotiation advice.
During my previous review, my boss told me that although I did a great job, he was unable to give me the raise I deserved. His reason? The economy. I told him that I understood, and that we could see what happens next year. However, he hired three full-time employees to the department four months after the review.
This year, how do I negotiate my raise if he brings up the economy or anything that is not related to my personal job performance?
Thank you!
Answer: This is not much help but.
You can try to go to salary.com and show him that you are making below average?

Question: Will my husband get a notice from Social Security? He has been on Social Security Disability for epilepsy for the past seven years or so. In October, he received a notification of medical review. We went in the requested paperwork around October 15th. Today, he did receive a notice of cost of living adjustment (which every recipient receives regardless of whether there is a COLA or not). So this must imply that he's still approved for benefits, right?
Answer: If he didn't get a notice that his benefits were being terminated,he should be fine.
Question: NJ Unemployment Adjustment Unit -- Any Contact? I appealed a denied appeal..and it was reversed. They said since it deals with Extensions for the back pay that they owe me...It has to be sent to the Adjustment Unit...which apparently is an internal unit. I've went through phone calls with Board of Review, two different departments of customer service, one stop center. Does anyone know how to expedite this back-pay for the holidays or any phone numbers to call? This whole process put me in $3000 debt due to being denied benefits and I was trying to at least figure out the holidays / some debt paid off with this pay, but they said it can take 7months!
If anyone has any advice / #s / etc, Please let me know!
Answer: You're not going to "expedite" a government employee.

Obesity is a pathological condition which precedes several vascular and metabolical diseases, such as Type 2 Diabetes, an evolution of insulin peripherical resistance. Now a days studies suggests that the developmental environment can modulate the metabolism on the offspring, thus, the consumption of high animal fat diet during gestation and lactation can promote at the offspring a metabolic adjustment known as metabolic imprinting, which may cause important consequences at adulthood. The mechanisms related to the impairment of insulin signaling are directly involved to the white adipose mass and proinflammatory cytokines levels, due to the inflammatory process generated by the higher weight. These cytokines are responsible for the activation of serin-kinases that promote the inhibition of the response to the insulin signal. Considering that the hypothalamus is a tissue of major importance to the maintenance of energetic homeostasis, molecular alterations on this tissue, promoted by the inflammatory process of obesity can lead to important consequences on the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids on peripherical tissues. Knowing that, the present study aimed to investigate molecular changes on the hypothalamus and liver of the offspring of obese mothers (using mice treated with high fat chow during gestation and lactation). Answer: Obesity is a pathological condition THAT precedes /CAUSES several/VARIOUS vascular and METABOLIC diseases, such as Type 2 Diabetes, an consequence?* of peripherall insulin resistance.
RECENT studies SUGGEST that the developmental environment can modulate the metabolism OF the offspring, thus, the consumption of a diet high in animal fat during gestation and lactation can promote metabolic changes in the offspring, known as metabolic imprinting, which may cause important consequences at adulthood.
The mechanisms related to the impairment of insulin signaling are directly LINKED to the white adipose mass and proinflammatory cytokine levels, due to the inflammatory processes generated by the higher weight*.
These cytokines are responsible for the activation of serine kinases that promote the inhibition of the response to the insulin signal. Considering that the hypothalamus is a tissue of major importance to the maintenance of energetic homeostasis, molecular alterations IN this tissue, promoted by the inflammatory processes of obesity, can lead to important consequences FOR the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids in peripherAL tissues.
Knowing that, the present study aimed to investigate molecular changes IN? the hypothalamus and liver of the offspring of obese mothers (using mice FED high fat chow during gestation and lactation). Weight gain, adiposity, glucose tolerance, free fatty acid levels, and the expression and/or activation of key proteins such as ACC, AKT, IR, IRS1, JNK IN THESEs tissues were evaluated by western blot techniques at 28 days and at 14 weeks of life, IN ORDER to understand whether the exposure to supernutrition during development can lead to predisposition for obesity in adulthood.

Some schools around the United States are considering starting the school day one or two hours later. Some members of the school and community argue that this change would be hectic for parents and students, since it conflicts with afterschool activities and pushes the work day and school day too close together, making transportation difficult. On the other hand, there are those that believe this change would be a positive adjustment for high school students. With this change, students would have the opportunity to get more sleep, have more time for homework, and make more time for other activities.
If schools utilized the opportunity to delay the start of their school day, students could use the extra time to acquire more sleep then usual. According to KidsHealth, most teenagers require eight and a half to more then nine hours of sleep each night. For the majority of today’s high school students, trying to squeeze that much sleep into our frantic schedules is an incredibly difficult task. Since most students are usually involved in other activities on top of mountains of homework each night, they usually end up with, on average, seven and a half hours of sleep each night (as said by PBS). When students do not get enough sleep, it is possible that their performance in school and other activities will be damaged. Schools could look forward to enhanced performance from most of their students if they took the plunge and delayed the start of school. Later school leads to more sleep, which eventually results in more attentive students with improved performance.
Today, many students end up with loads of homework to complete each night. Knowing that they have school tomorrow tells them they should try to get to sleep at a decent hour. How do you complete all your homework, with your best effort, and get to sleep at a nice time? You simply do not. A lack of time may force students to choose between completion of homework or sleep. If school did not start as early, students could do what homework they could at night, get to bed at a decent hour, then finish homework with the extra time in the morning. Having this new option, they will not try and stay up till 2:00a.m. doing homework, then waking up at 6:00a.m. to get ready for school. If students can finally stop cramming all night, they will be less stressed, more relaxed, and ready to participate in the school day. This can be easily achieved with a minor change to their daily school schedule.
With the work load given from schools each day, most students have less time for stress-relief activities such as, sports, spending time with friends, and after-school clubs. As a result, teenagers are finding themselves cancelling other activities to make time for their homework and sleep. Doing this could have very negative consequences. Too much stress from school and homework can be incredibly overwhelming. For this reason, it is crucial to set aside time for fun, relaxing activities. Less time for homework and sleep means no activities. Without their activities, teenagers will be constantly stressed, which affects school performance. Delaying school start time would make more time for homework and sleeping, which means more time for stress-relief activities, which in turn leads to relaxed students with enhanced performance in school.
In the big picture, delaying the time school starts by one or two hours creates relaxed students that pay attention and perform better. The extra time could be used by students to create more time to schedule stress-relief activities, do homework, and sleep. Schools should certainly consider adopting this subtle, yet beneficial change to their daily school schedule. Making this descision has potential to help their students in numerous ways.
Answer: i think you did a nice job i thought all your arguments were very valid and important ones too. you could add after you talk about lots of homework studying for test too and how if students had more time to study they could get higher test scores but since we have so much homework we rarely have time to study and usually after 3 hrs of homework we dont want to study we'd rather go to bed . but other than that i'd say nice job !

Question: Another question for bela k / nate_625 about alignment/camber adjustment? I really appreciate your input on the question about alignment. I'm not a genius about matters of the car as you may have noticed. After reviewing your comments and looking at additional information on the web, I agree that it may be camber that I should be worried about. Let me give you the deets on my car.
It is a 1992 Mercury Sable and so it has control arms on the back and not an axle. It got in a collision with some train tracks about 2 years ago and bent up the two control arms on the left. I replaced those but since, it has had problems staying on the road, especially in rain and snow. It is wearing badly on the inside of the tires and just by eyeballing it, the right tire looks like it has a visible angle on it.
Having said that, my questions are the following:
1. Is the problem dealing with alignment, camber or maybe something else?
2. Is this fixable?
3. If yes on 2, how much are we looking at?
I would be glad to chat with either of you if that's any easier...
Answer: ok jonathan, traditionally inner wear on the tire is a bearing or camber issue, but this sound like your frame make be tweeked a little. you replaced the control arms, but the train thing makes me suspect not an allingment issue but the frame. and it doesnt take much to cause tire wear. as little as a few degrees off can wear the tires. but it may be camber. camber adust ments are made by inserting or removing shims between the frame and the the arm. tow in and tow out allignment is the distance between the front and the rear of the tires on the same axle. its not applicable in the rear.
most anything is fixable. if its a bearing, it needs to be replaced or tightened. some bearings can be tightened some cant. if its the frame, thats a tough one to fix. it can be donebut difficult, expensive and no guarantee it will fix problem or last. once the frame is tweeked, its almost advisable to get rid of the car. if its the camber, easy fix
bearings would cost, i dont know $20 ballbark guess in parts and 1-3 hrs labor. 3 hrs would be a bit high, but acceptable. camber would be $10 parts 1/2 hr to 1 hr labor. if its the frame i wouldnt fudge with it, get rid of the car.
hope this helps.

Question: Macroecon Help!! I got a test tomorrow and dont get my review sheet! thanks? Suppose you’ll have an annual nominal income of $40,000 for each of the next 3 years, and the inflation rate is 5 percent per year.
a.Find the real value of your $40,000 salary for each of the next 3 years.
b.Suppose you have a COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) of 5 percent per year in your contract, which raises your $40,000 salary by 5 percent for each of the next 3 years. Given the 5 percent inflation rate for each of those 3 years, what is the real value of your salary for each year?
Suppose you have $500 in savings when the price level index is at 100.
a.If inflation pushes the price level up by 20 percent, what will be the real value of your savings?
b.What would happen to the real value of your savings if the price level instead declined by 10 percent
Answer: I don't have any of the formal formulas that you might have on your review sheet, but am just applying common sense to econ as I remember it. Please review what I have put with a grain of salt.
a. Real salary
Year 1 = $40,000
Year 2 = 40,000/1.05 = $38,095
Year 3 = 40,000/(1.05)^2 = $36,281
b. Real salary with 5% COLA
Year 1 = $40,000
Year 2 = 40,000 * 1.05 / 1.05 = $40,000
Year 3 = 40,000 * (1.05)^2 / (1.05)^2 = $40,000
Savings:
Real savings = savings / PI
a. 500/1.20 = $416.67
b. 500/0.90 = $555.55
