Special Master
A court-appointed individual, usually an attorney, who assists the court in moving a case forward. Problems relating to pretrial discovery often are handled by a special master who schedules and coordinates discovery. Such procedure is necessary where one or both parties fail to comply with discovery requests, or when the parties can?t agree on appraisers a special master can make the selection. Note that the special master is not a judge -- his opinions carry weight, but not the final word.
Question: What are the requirements regain sole custody of a child in Wisconsin? I gave custody to my daughters grandparents (not my parents, but her father's whos not involved in her life) a few years ago so I could complete school. But now they don't want to give her back because they don't like me personally. Long story. Anyway, what requirements would I have to have in order to get her back? Legally. At this point the only thing they have against me is character, but technically they don't know me and have had no desire. I'm not an alcholoic or drug addict or anything of the type (and never have been). I'm actually kind of boring. So mostly they'd be making things up and going off of rumors. That kind of thing.
Background: I gave them custody so I could go to school fulltime. I've taken her steadily every other weekend as was arranged originally (except on the weekends they decided I could because they were too busy or decided it as a "punishment"). Otherwise I'm more involved in her life then they'd like. I have a steady job (recently was promoted) and can provide just fine. All that basic stuff.
Answer: You need a lawyer, but you can start by contacting the child protective services in your area. They will do an investigation to see if the child will be better off with you than with the custodial family. I hope you have been involved in the child's life all along, its going to be tough to explain to them why you walked away, if you did, and now when its convenient for you, you want her back. they are the only parent your daughter knows, and I hope even if you get custody, you won't be cutting them out of her life because they don't like you.
Make sure you can show the agency that you have a steady job and a place set up for the child to live, and provisions for caring for her when you are at work.
Question: In what states do you need a Master's Degree in Special Education to teach special education?
Answer: If your teaching certificate is special education endorsed... meaning that you took the courses, did the student teaching, and passed the test.. then we are certified to teach special education courses.
If your certificate is not currently for special education and you are going back to get this endorsement (by taking a masters degree in special education) than that is when you need a masters degree.
Most of my friends who teach special education (in Michigan) do not have their masters. I currently have an elementary/early childhood certificate and plan on getting my second masters in special education.
I hope I helped you more than confused you!
Question: What Master's Program should a student enroll in if her/she wants to become an FBI special agent?
If I studied Journalism for my undergrad...
Answer: FBI only wants applicants with specialized skills that they need. Foremost, it is accounting and financial analysis degrees. Other good ones are the hard sciences/math, engineering (any), and foreign languages. I'm afraid they have no interest in journalism degrees (unless you're fluent in something like Arabic) so you have to switch to something else. Bar none, best approach is to get a Master's of accounting and get your CPA. You would be a shoe-in for many Federal investigative service positions (i.e. not just FBI).
Question: I have a bachelor's in psychology and a minor in special child studies. I want to get a master's, but what? I wanted to be a psychologist because I'm trained in listening skills and helping people to help themselves interrupt their negative behavior patterns. I desperately wanted to get my master's but what stopped me was the sadistic Behavior Statistics--I'm not math minded and could only get a D+. I love children, but at this point in my life don't want the responsibility. I love art, but I will need to start over again to catch up. What would you do?
Answer: I believe firstly you must figure out what exactly you want. Do you solely want to make a lot of money? Do you sincerly want to help people? Sit down and think about it for a while before you decide to go back. If you want to make money, I would not recommend Social Work for the simple fact the salary cap in that field with a LSW is only about $60k - $70K...that is not enough money. Ultimately, I think you should do what makes you happy.

Question: Why are master numbers so special? In numereolgy, there's 0-9 and there's master numbers. Do they make sense alot? I just wonder...
Answer: I don't really know for sure, but I think Master Numbers in Numerology are "special" because they're considered rare. I don't know if that's true or not. Mine is 33/6 and I find it to be accurate, but honestly it's just a generalization or overview. It's rather blah... you know? But I find it interesting. I went through a stage where I was really interested in Numerology, I still am, but now I find it more entertaining. I'm not really sure as to whether or not I take it seriously, but I've noticed that the Master Numbers are given more detail. I think it's because they're considered to be rather "spiritual" numbers. I have no clue as to why they are, but they are. Master Number 33 is the combination of 11+22, so it's considered to be really "special". But I don't feel "special" or anything. I honestly don't know....

Question: How much is the salary of a special ed teacher with a masters degree? (preferably in ga)? I want to go and recieve my masters in special ed. How much do they make? Do private schools pay more? Can you get a doctorate in it and if so how much can you make with that?
Answer: I am currently living in CA and have a masters degree and 7 yrs teaching experience ( actually have 11 yrs but CA only counts first 7). I am making about $65,000. Private schools usually pay less. You can get a doctorate but if you are going to teach not really a sound investment as your salary increase will not justify it. If you go into administration you can make quite a bit more. You have to LOVE Sp. Ed. to teach it. High burn out rate.
I would guess in GA a masters w/no experience would be $35,000ish

Question: Difference between special education and elementary education with a masters in special ed? Im thinking about transferring to a different university but they don't offer a major in special education so is it the same thing if i major in elementary education and get a masters in special edcuation?
Answer: I agree with the above poster. While dual licensure is certainly a great thing and I recommend it, the longer you are out of a special education position, the less likely you are to obtain one. Special education law and practices are changing frequently and there is a great deal of paperwork that you need to be knowledgeable about. Typically, schools want to hire special education teachers that have a proven track record and can show they are up-to-date in the latest knowledge surrounding their content area.
Question: Do you need a B.A. in Special Ed to get a Master's? I was thinking of going into the special ed field, but wanted to get a bachelor's in General Education so I can have more options. Do I need a bachelor's in special ed, or can I get a special ed teaching job with a bachelor's in education and master's in special ed?
Answer: You'll probably want to explore the Dept. of Education on your State's website.
I've looked at a couple of graduate programs (Masters) in Special Education and the admissions requirements don't indicate that any particular bachelors degree is necessary. Take a look:
http://www.csun.edu/sped/masters/index.html
http://www.specialeducation.ilstu.edu/master/admission.shtml
There do seem to be credential requirements (at least preliminary) prior to entering the graduate program.
You might want to try chatting with a librarian at a local college or public library site. They can help direct you to the information you need and answer other questions that come up.

Answer: - Teaching (with an increased pay raise)
- Work for MHMR (Mental Health/Mental Retardation)
- Work in a school district's Disabilities Office/504 Office (name varies between districts)
- Work in a college-level Office of Disability Services
- Work for your state's Rehabilitation Commission/Rehabilitative Services

Question: Is it better to get a 2nd Bachelor's or a Master's for teacher liscensure in Special Education? The master's means more student loans that might be hard to pay off
Answer: Go for your masters and specialize in an area where the market is not sated as, for example, from learning disabilities. Go for severely disabled or Behaviorally disabled, or Autistic. that way you will get a job easier. If you have difficulty with Student Loans, just combine all of them and come to an agreement. A lawyer could be of assistance.
Question: What other careers , besides teaching , can I get with a Masters Degree in Special Education? I have a Masters Degree in Special Education and will, hopefully, be certified for grades 1-9 by July 2010. I live in NY and there are NO teaching gigs out there. What other jobs can I search for?
I also have a useless bachelors degree in History.
Answer: I cant believe that. There are always jobs in special ed. Are you willing to relocate? Our school system was having trouble finding a spec ed. Teacher. I know some schools are cutting positions due to funding.
There are alot of jobs you qualify for though. Most social service jobs (caseworker in afdc or fs, head start administrator,) hospital entry level, mental health care, look on your county website they are often hiring in WIC or juvenile center, you can look online and study for the probation officer test and take it-pay and benefits isgood, you can try corrections, you can get a business job. They will hire you for human resourses or other depts. there are alot of agencies that have group homes and such that would hire you to be a caseworker... Really you are very marketable with a ms degree. Wont your university help with jobs?
good luck.
Question: Can I special summon Fortune Lady Earth and Dark with the effect of Chaos-End Master?
Answer: @ DranXer
No, that is not the case with ?? attack
If Shrink targets Fortune Lady Dark, its attack will be at 1000, not 0
It's because Fortune Ladies have continous effects that let's their attack be consider their "Original Attack", while other cards such as Chimeratech Overdragon is a one time determined attack
----------------
Anyways, no... you cannot special summon FL Earth / Dark with Chaos End Master's effect
The reason is because Chaos End Master is looking for attacks with 1600 or lower while FL attacks are "?", it is not a number, it is undetermined, therefore, cards such as Magician's Circle cannot search out any of the FL monsters
