Enforce
To require somebody to do something that is stated in a court order. For example, if a domestic violence protective order states the respondent needs to stay away from the petitioner and the respondent comes to the petitioners house, the police may enforce that order to keep the respondent away.
Question: How do you enforce potty training for a young dog? The family dog is a year and two months old. Alot of times she still goes potty in the house. How do we get the dog to go outside all the time? It would save work to clean carpets and get rid of the stink for good. I always try to enforce dicipline saying no or bad whatnot. How can this be enforced as a family thing?
Answer: I found that my local pet store has puppy trainer in a spray bottle .I got a few of these and poured them where I want my dog to go out side. I took her there a few times by leash and showed the spot .soon after she went by her self to that spot. Good luck.

Question: What is America actively doing to enforce immigration policy? I am writing a paper on "What America actively does to enforce immigration policy and to ensure that aliens visiting under a visa do not stay longer than the expiration date." My paper will discuss current laws pertaining to this issue, as well as current organizations and/or programs which handle such issues.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me relating to this issue, such as current laws or policies and how they are actively being enforced.
Answer: If our president elect has an aunt that's been living here illegally for something like 3 or 4 years the the answer if obviously not enough.
Question: What's the difference between "enforce the law" and "administer the law"? What's the difference between "enforce the law" and "administer the law"? Is it that some enforce the law and others administer the law? Or one is spoken English, the other formal?
Answer: Enforce - to put or keep in force; compel obedience to: to enforce a rule; Traffic laws will be strictly enforced.
Administer - to manage (affairs, a government, etc.); have executive charge of: to administer the law.
When a policeman writes a ticket or a warning he is enforcing the law, hopefully this compels obedience.
When a policeman handcuffs someone who has a warrant for their arrest or when a judge gives judgment they are administering the law.
Note: Usually the police enforces the law, but when he handcuffs anyone he is doing both because they have executive charge of that individual.
Question: How can the yankees enforce the facial hair ban on players acquired in a trade? If a player signs with the yankees as a free agent, they can do it, because he knew the rules when he signed. But what about a player that gets traded to the yankees? How can they enforce the rule on him?
Answer: Wow......good question.
I wouldn't know the answer, but I assume most players would just follow on the rule already set. Like I said, good question. That would be something good to ask a Yankees writer or something.
Question: How would I explain “Enforce Referential Integrity” simply, on microsoft access? I need to explain what enforce referential integrity means on micorsoft access, problem is I'm not so sure my self. How would i Explain it simply?
Answer: How do you explain "Enforce Referential Integrity" in Access is a matter of using 'real world' scenarios to explain this.
Imagine two tables joined in relationship:
1. Table1:Customers joined to Table2:Orders.
2. The common field between them is "CustomerID" which appears in both tables.
3. In 'Customers', it is the unique primary key and in 'Orders' it's the duplicate value for each time the same customer places a new order and is sometimes known as the seconday key.
4. When you enforce referential integrity between them, you are validating the 'Orders' 'CustomerID' field (the 'many' side only) and not the unique side from 'Customers' (the 'one' side).
5. Therefore, in real terms, you must first choose an existing customer before placing an order (which is what you would do in the real world!).
Enforcing this options stops violations and abuse of records which have no relationship between tables. Note that the 'Customer' table can still have new records without orders (a new prospect customer) but you can not have new orders without first assigning a customer.

Question: Can a Homeowner's Association enforce something that is not in the Rules and Regulations? I rent a condo in a complex that has a Board who is trying to enforce no skateboards, scooters, bikes, etc.. I have been there for 3 1/2 years and my neighbors who have been there longer than that have stated that this has never been enforced. There is a sign at the entrance to the complex that states that these items are not allowed to be rode. This sign has been there forever and nobody has ever enforced it. Last week a homeowner had a spat with a Board member, and now all of a sudden they are trying to enforce a "sign". But there is no rule. I'm sure when the residents start showing out about it, the Board will have the rule put in the Rules and Regulations. How can we (renters and homeowners) prevent that?
Answer: If there are changes contemplated to your lease/owner contracts, then each lessee/owner must sign a new contract with the changes.
If you all refuse to sign the new contract, then they cannot change it.
Perhaps it is time for the condo owners to remove the offensive board member and install someone more in tune with their wishes.
Question: What if your company does enforce your 10 minute breaks during an 8 hour work day? My company tells us that we need to take our two 10 minute breaks during our 8 hour work day, but they never enforce it. Is that illegal?
I meant to ask does not enforce the 10 minute breaks.
Answer: If the law in your country/province/state you work in requires a 10 minute break in an 8 hour day, then you would be required to take it, and the employer would be required to give it to you. If you are in the US, there is no federal law that requires any breaks, meal periods or rest periods.
Additionally, if a break is required, some states allow employees to refuses the break, but require the employer to pay them for the time that would be their break. In other words, if you don't take a break, you get paid for the time - your employer can't deduct it. Again, check the laws where you live.
Question: What are some reasons to enforce recycling in businesses? I have to write a persuasive essay to the mayor to try to get them to enforce laws on recycling in businesses. What are some persuasive reasons that I can include. I'm having a complete Writer's Block here.
Thanks!
Answer: It depends on your job. At my work one of my co-workers wrote an assay about how they could cut some of the paper work because it was useless and at the same time they would be saving money on paper. The corporation liked it and passed it. You can talk about that kind of stuff as well how to cut down on certain things which is even better than recycling if you dont have to use it in the first place.
Question: should the united states start to enforce the immigration laws? we have in place currently? or should we overhaul them and adopt and enforce the immigration laws that mexico has for all illegal immigrants in their country?
Answer: This country is moving toward enforcement through attrition. The Border Patrol is removing any and all illegal aliens with records at this point, but not actively removing illegal aliens who are not involved in crime so far as can be seen.
There are lots of problems with this procedure, and if it stops with the removal of the criminal illegal aliens, we will be allowing the criminal illegal aliens who have hidden well... to remain. That one would be a mistake!! The Mexican Mafia will be the very best of hiders out there.
If we do enforce the immigration laws we have on the books, I believe we will be winners. We need to secure the southern border.. and then turn to internal enforcement.
We need the 'REAL' I.D. for that purpose. Want to throw a monkey wrench into the works.. don't install that I.D. Don't install the Real I.D., and then....... very best people at making American Identification will be the Mexican Mafia.
A question back to you. Is the Democratic Congress as well as the President, NOT funding the implementation of the Real I.D. for the specific purpose of foiling the immigration efforts? I believe that is happening.
Tell someone you don't like it.

Question: How do department stores enforce banning of shoplifters? How do places like Nordstroms, Macys, Penneys, etc enforce bans on customers who have shoplifted or are banned from the store for some other reason? Particularly, if its a chain store, if a person is banned from returning to any store, how on earth do they enforce that?
Answer: it has nothing to do with computers. you think shopping store computers have technology like facial recognition? hell no.
basically, they have your picture in a binder or on the wall (if its a smaller store) and its basically about recognition. if they recognize you, then they are going to either kick you out, or call the cops. most likely they will just kick you out. as calling the cops is too much of a hastle.
so wait a few months, and go back in and see what happens. just dont steal from there again.

Answer: in the US you can file for garnishment of wages to collect a judgement. you do it at the courthouse.
Question: How to enforce a No Smoking policy in lease? What kind of proof do I need to enforce a no smoking policy in a lease? My tenant lives right next doot to me and I can smell the smoke coming through the walls. In the lease I have with my tenant, it states this:
Tenant shall prohibit smoking by his/her household members or guests while on the premises. It is the tenant's responsibility to inform his/her guests of the no-smoking portion of this lease. Smoking by the tenant, a member of his/her household, or his/her guests while on the premises is a violation of this lease. Due to the increased costs in cleaning the premises, the higher risk of fire, and the danger to the health of other occupants of the building, violation of this provision will result in an additional rent due at the rate of $50 per month which may be assessed at the end of the lease term or at any time landlord discovers such a violation of this lease.
What kind of proof do i need to issue a lease violation notice?
Answer: Document the dates and times you smell cigarette smoke, issue your tenant a warning via certified mail that if there is one more offense he/she will be evicted and charged for cleaning needed to eradicate the smoke smell from the apartment.
Question: How to enforce copyright law on typefaces? In other types of copyright-protected materials, we enforce the copyright law in various ways, which includes not allowing reproduction of the materials involved. However, users of fonts and typeface must use them to publish something. In other words, they will make copies of the copyrighted thing, but that is pefectly OK. Then how do we protect copyright on fonts and typefaces?
Answer: Strictly speaking, this is not about copyright law - at least in North America. Protection of typefaces as intellectual property relies on design patents. There is no copyright in typefaces.
BoingBoing had an interesting post on this a while ago. The link to it is below.
There have been several proposals that the USA and Canada enact copyright law in this regard, as may be found in Europe. If this interests you further, a 'copyright typeface' Google search will give more information.

Question: How do I enforce Proxy settings via IE to Computers and not users using Group Policy? I've recently implemented a Proxy policy by GPO to enforce it's settings onto IE via Users and not Computers. I'd like to do so by machine and not user so I can make sure we are locked down 100%. If anyone can tell me how to do so or direct me to an Administrative Template I'd be very appreciative.
Answer: You can set the GPO template to apply to either a user object or a computer object.
Have the settings apply down to the OU with all your domain computers in it, and it won't require any specific users to be pushed out.
Question: How do you enforce a default judgment in Illinois? Friend of mine (not good with computers) filed a case in small claims court in Illinois in 2004. He got a default judgment in September of 2004 and then did a Citation to Discover Assets. It returned one bank account with a small amount in it. He missed the next court date and hasn't done anything with it since.
What are his options? Can he still enforce the judgment or is it stale? Should he try to get a wage garnishment or lien on the Defendant's house?
Answer: Well missing that court date certainly doesn't help the matter. & seeing as it's several yrs later your "friend" very well might not have a leg to stand on.
The second link show the small claims rules for clark county in Illinois (example because you didn't say where this small claim is).
Section H shows that the claim can be dismissed due to inactivity. While this might not be the rule in the court where the "friend" has the small claim, inactivity is an issue.
Question: How do you enforce child support payments of shared costs? My ex and I have joint custody, 50/50 and we split all bills in half. Well we are supposed to split all bills in half but recently he wont give me his half of anything. He is up to owing over $500 for his half and i have to be the one to dish out full cost. He wont give me anything. How can I enforce his payments?
Answer: The cheapest and quickest way is to use Small Claims Court. Cost you $50 to file, which he'll be required to pay, plus interest on money owed. Depending on the case load, should take about 30 days.
Question: Is Vigilantlism justified when the government has failed to enforce the law? VIgilantism is basically allowing citizens to do what law enforcers usually should be doing, when they don't enforce a law very effectively.
Answer: No it's never justified. Although I have no problem hiring the mafia to take care of someone who has harmed my child in any way. I think that's still legal, right? ;-)
Question: How strictly do they enforce the no camera policy at The Moore? My friends and I are going to a concert at The Moore in Seattle in a few days and we were wondering how strictly they enforce the no camera policy. My camera is small enough that I could easily sneak it in, but I was just wondering how they respond to people who sneak in cameras.
Answer: I wouldn't risk it. The flash will most definitely go off and bother the performers. When I went to the Brandi Carlile concert last year and someone took a photograph, she even said on stage, there's not supposed to be any photos taken. It will just take one person sitting near you to rat you out, once that flash goes off.
So, I guess maybe if you can control the flash, you could try it.
