First-Hand Knowledge
Information or knowledge heard and/or seen directly by the person speaking or writing. Generally, all information given to the court to prove a case must be first-hand knowledge. See the Rules of Evidence for more information.
Question: Who knows of the most reputable company to obtain Diazepam without a prescription? First hand knowledge, please? Anyone? Please, perhaps suggest a forum if you don't have first hand knowledge.
Answer: Back in times when I had not a prescription for Diazepam, I was getting it online from http://www.controlledpills.com/prices.ph… They delivered the pills in time and those were the same pills as I am getting through the local pharmacy now. Good experience but a little bit expensive. Good luck.
Question: First-hand knowledge? So, we've all heard the thoughtful and well-thought out (sarcasm) arguments by the religious right that homosexuality is a choice. My question is, unless a person has been confronted by that choice, how would they know? I mean, are they basically admitting that they've been tempted to have a same-sex relationship? What do you think?
Whoops. Looks like I put thoughtful twice. Oh, well, you know what I mean.
Touche, DeeDee. Touche.
No baiting intended. I'm genuinely curious where this theory comes from.
Answer: Here's a news flash for people 'making the decision to be straight', they aren't, they are bisexual.
Question: Without first hand knowledge how can anyone from an opinon on global warming? I have done some first hand research on the subject and have much data that shows how global warming is not casued by man.
Answer: I used to be in denial just like you, but now I realize that people are causing global warming. We need to stop.
Question: How much of your argument for or against evolution is FIRST-HAND knowledge? A challenge to everyone, believers and non-believers alike. Think of a few of your favorite arguments for claiming that evolution is a fact or a lie, then ask yourself whether you really, REALLY KNOW it to be true. To be fair, here's a standard of judgment: if you've never actually set foot in Antarctica, you DO NOT KNOW that it exists.
If you really, really know, first-hand, something that supports one of your favorite arguments, please, do tell.
Answer: "Here's a standard of judgment: if you've never actually set foot in Antarctica, you DO NOT KNOW that it exists."
Then you can't prove anything, one way or the other.
Someone mentioned handling human tools 18,000 years old. Was the person there 18,000 years ago? No. Then they don't know. It was dated at 18,000 years? But you don't know if the dating system is accurate unless you've been around for 18,000 years.
Can't prove anything with that reasoning.
Question: Can someone give me first hand knowledge on being an archaeologist? Hi! I'm trying to decide what I want my career to be. This is one (of many) of my interests. I am hoping to gain further knowledge on this subject; as in pay, what I would do on the job, advice on starting out, etc.... Please look for my other questions on different careers!! Thanks. :)
Answer: The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a good source for career information...
http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos054.htm
Archaeological Institute of America
http://www.archaeological.org/
Society for American Archaeology

Another interesting place to look would be at college Web sites.
Here are a few colleges with archaeology programs...
http://www.columbia.edu/cu/arthistory/ht…
http://ls.berkeley.edu/dept/ahma/
http://libarts.wsu.edu/anthro/gradarch.h…
You can explore Peterson's to find other colleges that offer degrees in archaeology...

Question: Can someone give me first hand knowledge on being a palentologist? Hi! I'm trying to decide what I want my career to be. This is one (of many) of my interests. I am hoping to gain further knowledge on this subject; as in pay, what I would do on the job, advice on starting out, etc.... Please look for my other questions on different careers!! Thanks. :)
Answer: Sign up today for next summer's expedtions to Montana and Wyoming. You will meet and work with the experts.
The pay is $18,000 for first year workers with university degrees. Less than school teachers. You are constantly grubbing for "grants" to fund your explorations..
Question: Does anyone have first hand knowledge of a legitimate work-from-home typing/data entry job? I am not looking for pie-in-the-sky $2K a day. Something that will pay reasonable money for work done. I have seen some claims that seem to good to be real. If you are currently making money at stuffing envelopes or data entry, please let me know. I truly need to make the money. Thanks in advance!
Answer: The ad that have claims that seem to good to be real are false and the sad fact is that you will find many of these types of ads before finding an actual legit typing/data entry job. You should ignore any data entry/typing jobs that ask for a fee. Legitimate data entry companies do not ask for a fee.
Stuffing envelopes is also scam. The way the scam work is that you are asked to pay a fee for training material or just materials. You send your money and then you get "instructions" telling you to place the same ad you found everywhere and you scam people out of their money (except they don't say scam).
Data Entry jobs can be found on various job boards but it is very rare to find a real data entry position. A company will want you to have skills such as typing at least 55wpm if not higher, know 10 key, and may possibly want you to also know excel. In addition the company may ask that you have high speed internet.
There are a few known legitimate data entry companies but they are not hiring and/or have a long waiting list (1-2years). If you go to my profile, the website listed has data entry/typing jobs and you can check out the other jobs and companies. The website should help you to find a legitimate work from home job.
Two other options is to do freelancing and bid on data entry projects, there are many freelancing sites on the web-the second option is offer data entry to companies in your area and get work this way (it is not easy but can be done).
Question: Can someone give me first hand knowledge on being a geologist? Hi! I'm trying to decide what I want my career to be. This is one (of many) of my interests. I am hoping to gain further knowledge on this subject; as in pay, what I would do on the job, advice on starting out, etc.... Please look for my other questions on different careers!! Thanks. :)
Answer: Try this website below and it will tell you what it takes to be a geologist. Oh and by the way, Geoscientists are the same things as Geologists.
It tells you the pay, lifestyle, what kind of education it takes, etc. I used the website to help me with carrer choice.
Question: Can someone give me first hand knowledge on being a flight attendant? Hi! I'm trying to decide what I want my career to be. This is one (of many) of my interests. I have never been on a plane before, but I LOVE to travel and help people. I am hoping to gain further knowledge on this subject; as in pay, what I would do on the job, advice on starting out, etc.... Please look for my other questions on different careers!! Thanks. :)
Answer: I like what Ed_itor had to say, good points.
Let me tell you of some of the bad stuff that you may need to think about. The fun stuff like free travel and 32 hours off in a new city at the company's expence talk for themselves.
I have been a flight attendant for 10 years and love it. I work for a small airline in Minnesota. We have about 300 flight attendants, most of us know each other and like each other. That can not be said for some larger airlines.
Sadly the glamor of the job ends... the moment you step on the plane. The job does involve a lot of poop and puke.
Pay is so bad in the first year or two. I was starving... well almost. Pay does go up quickly per year though. We started at $16 per hour and got 2 dollar raises for each year for the first 7 or 8 years. Then $1 for a couple years. Now pay goes up like 50 cents a year. (Of course this is per hour, not per year. I typed it poorly).
I suggest starting out young. You have to put your time in to get some seniority. The new people work all the Holidays and I still have no idea what it is like to have a week-end off... On the other hand, you only work about 10-15 days per month. You are also only paid for your actual flight hours.
I know this is a given, but to do this job well you have to really like working with people. I approach the job each and every day happy for every single passenger we have. That way I have a job I truly love. That is a lot to say in these hard economic times.
You also have to be Super flexible with your schedule. You may think you are just going on a 1 day trip... and it turns into 8 days.
Keep in mind I have been doing this for 10 years and still love it. So it can't be that bad. I just wanted to tell you of the worse cases you may have to deal with. Most days I love my job and my co-workers; I just think I am so lucky they pay me to do this.
Good luck.
Question: Does anyone have any first hand knowledge about growing,? Pony tailed palms and scouring rushes in separate containers ? I need information on both plants.
Thanks, now I need some information about scouring rushes!
Answer: I have two pony tail palms. They are in 14 pots. I let them go fairly dry before watering again. Mine get east sun most of the year, when they aren't outside in diffused/shaded light in the summer. Watch for spider mites. When I water in the summer on the back patio, I use the hose and spray the undersides of the leaves to keep pests from getting too settled. Over the winter, i keep a spray bottle (with only a few drops of dish soap mixed in) handy and mist them. This helps with dust and preventing any pests.
I hope this helped. They are really a low maintenance plant. Thanks for the reminder, by the way, I need to do some watering today! Good luck
Question: How did the character Ellen Dean from Wuthering Heights have first-hand knowledge of both of the families? And how is she so acquainted with the events of this novel?
Answer: She was the maid from the time she was fourteen and saw the coming of hieth Cliff and his death. This book is an amazing story!
Question: Does anyone have any first hand knowledge on a legitimate home business? I'm looking to find a way to make some money from home, either through one of those networking companies, or data entry, etc, but i don't really know where to start. I've looked into some in the past, but they have always been more of a scam than a real opportunity to make money.
Has anyone been successful making money at home?
Thanks,
Answer: Yes, I'm working from home doing affiliate marketing and learning as I go along through Wealthy Affiliate. I was sceptical about it at first but it turned out to be genuine.
Affiliate marketing is a great home business and if you really want to succeed I would recommend signing up with Wealthy Affiliate as well.

Question: Do you have any first hand knowledge of a company called E-Prime areospace? Not found on the internet but actual knowledge.
I clearly asked for actual knowledge and not just something grabbed off the internet which any simpleton could do.
Anyone else?
I'm going to let this question expire rather than pick this cut and paste answer as the best.
Answer: Dude, none of us know anything about E-Prime.
PLEASE clear this question off the board. 'Expiring' just isn't working.
Question: Can anyone give me first hand knowledge of what Navy Gunner's Mate training is like? I would just like to know more details. Thank you!
What's a sprinkler system?
Answer: You learn the basics of all the weapons systems in the Navy, both missiles and guns. You learn basic hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics, as well as sprinkler system operation and maintenance. You also learn small arms maintenance and operation.
Question: Does anyone here have good first hand knowledge of Whirling Dervishes' practices? I am interested to know if there is any connection between their spinning and the practice of "dream spinning" and it is in their tradition to have WILDS (Wake initiated lucid dreams) as a perhaps a form of meditation.
Answer: Their dancing was a form of connecting to the creator, like Hadras are for other Sufi Tariqa, such as Shadhili. I think all of their sheiks died out a while ago, though I'm not sure where I found that out from. But the Shadhili tariqa and their sheiks are definately still around.
Question: Don't you wonder why some people would answer questions without having any kind of first hand knowledge of it? I keep stumbling on Mafiagirl's silly stereotypes and hearsays in questions about marriage and parenthood secions. I am sure, she must have some knowledge on some other subjects, but relationships ( the commited kind ), marriage and parenthood are not that. Shouldn't we talk about the things we know?
Edit: Thank you for your thoughts. I do have a comment for some of you though: What kind of a degree does one need to have first hand knowledge in marriage and parenthood? And how do I single out "poor Mafiagirl" by pointing out her self disclosed on many occasions unmarried and childless selfrightious status? Do read the question before trying to jump to conclusions please. Thank you.

Edit: Dear Mafiagirl, I am a happily married lady with a 5yo daughter, have PHD in world's history and another one in chemistry. I am also a world traveler and I do speak 6 different languages fluently ( French, Russian and English are just some of them). I own a pretty large research company and have OTHER PEOPLE working for me. I also still model from time to time, even though in my 41 years I don't need the money. BTW, psychology is a passion of mine: I have been studying it on my own for years now. I have never gotten personal with any of you people in my answers: nothing you have said here ( some of you anyway ) have anything to do with the question I've asked or with the reality of my life. My question never called you dumb, classless, useless or overly sensitive, which I am sure now you must be. However, it is not any of my consern.
Answer: If truth and first-hand knowledge were prerequisites, there would be few, if any, answers.
One thing I have noticed is the rampant ignorance and outright lies that abound on G&WS.
Question: Traveling to the Philippines and I ask for some first hand knowledge.? I am going to the Philippines this month to meet my incrediblely gorgeous Filipina woman, we been talking for many years. Can anyone advise me on any risks involved with security over there? How about what to expect going through the entery process at the airport over there? Any other useful information would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: You'll get a 21 tourist visa upon entry and getting an extension is easy if you decide to stay longer.
Unless your going south of Davao, I wouldn't worry about secuity. It's safe most everywhere and most Philippinos are friendly peaceful people.
I would make sure you notify your bank that your visiting the Philippines. Credit card theft is common here and if your bank doesn't know your here, most likely after the first credit card/debit transaction it will be cut off for security reasons. Calling the states is a hassle to get things straightened out and you pay business rates because toll free numbers are only toll free within conus.
Travelers checks are difficult to cash , plus you'll take a beating on the exchange rate.
Your gilfriend will take care of you and not take you into dangerous areas so follow her advice. It's also a good Idea to give her some cash for handeling trasactions like cabs etc. as they won't charge her foreigner rates.
Would be nice to know where in the Philippines your headed. It's a big country and each area has unique things to watch out for.
Question: Does anyone have first-hand knowledge about pediatric stroke? Have you or your sibling or your child ever had a pediatric stroke? Please answer these questions for me:
How old was the child at the time of the stroke?
What was the cause of the stroke?
How long has it been since the stroke?
How long did recovery take?
Do they suffer from any long term disabilities?
Please do not give me info you find on the internet -- I can do research for myself, I just want to hear from people who have experience with this.
Thank you.
Answer: I know a girl who had a stroke at birth.
Her mother was told that she would never walk, and would most likely be permanently blind.
Well, she did walk, at the normal age, and has vision like that of retinitis pigmentosa (no peripheral vision, small central field of vision).
Her mother says that her gross motor skills have never fully developed, but consider the initial prognosis, they are thrilled with it.
The cause of her stroke was unknown.
Question: Does anyone have first hand knowledge on vagus nerve stimulation? I have read about it and a friend actually has it. I'm thinking about talking to my doctor. I believe I'm a good candidate.
Roach, With a name like that you shouldn't talk. You obviuosly don't know ANYTHING About medicine.
This is for the treatment of depression.
Answer: What do you mean Vagus nerve stimulation?
you don't know what you're talkign about.
Question: As the only candidate with first hand knowledge of the Great Depression, shouldn't we be electing John McCain?
Sorry Elle, YOU brush up on your history and maths.
Answer: Gee, that would be a neat trick since it's generally accepted the Depression for the U.S. ended in 1939 and McCain was born in 1936.
I agree with you that McCain is very intelligent, but I wouldn't trust a 3 y/o future President's assessment of the economic status of our country at that time.
A smear is more effective when you have a clue about the subject.
