Question: How to reply to a just the person sending email and not entire group? In my other group, when group members hit reply to an email they receive, their reply is going only to that individual. With my new group, reply is going to the entire group.
Answer: depends on if you're the owner or member, and what the default setting is in the groups. if you're the owner, management- under group settings click messages- messages and archives (edit) <-- click- under the Reply To, choices are
* all members= sends to the group addy
* sender = sends to the person you're replying to
however no matter the default-
when you're replying from off the group, in the send to field is a drop down arrow, click that and you'll see 3 options: group owner, group postinf address and posters address- select the posters address
Question: How should I formally reply to a potential employer who thanks me for applying? I received a reply from a potential employer whom I have previously emailed my application (for a job) to a few days ago. He thanks me for applying for the position then says that he will call me after he has received more applicants and if he is interested in meeting me. I'm baffled. I usually get a reply for an interview or a no reply at all. I want to email him back to thank him for considering but is it weird? What should I say to maximize my chances of getting an interview?
Answer: Reply back to him the same way he wrote you-email if he emailed but if he sent you this note definitely send one back to him by snail mail. I'd write something short just following up to ask when you can expect notices for interviews to go out. Past that I'd only mention your eagerness for the job and your ability to meet with him for an interview to be "any time." Keep it short, simple, professional and make sure your spelling is correct. Good luck!
Question: How do I reply with a different email address in Microsoft Outlook? I realize that there is the "Reply-To" route. However, I want to be able to reply with that other email address. That way, my sent messages will be saved under that email address instead of the one that I am currently checking.
Answer: you can't!
Question: How do I reply to a question asked by the person who answered my question? Ok guys, I posted a question and the person that answered it asked me a few questions to clarify and I can't find a reply button on my screen! How do I reply?
Answer: When you ask a question you can add details by edit but only about the question do not address an individual. ::::::::The Guidelines say:::::
When someone makes a comment, if you respond it is chatting. When you choose a best answer you can leave a comment but again not address an individual. To reply to someone click their avatar and if they allow emails contact them that way
Question: What to reply to a job application letter? My boyfriend has a small business and he has to reply to a job application letter. Basically the business isn't big enough and due to the economic climate he doesn't want to hire the person so how would you word that letter?
Answer: Thanks for your application, which I read with great interest, unfortunately the current economic climate means that we are unable to appoint anyone to the business at this time. Thank you for your application, we will keep it on file in case we need to appoint in the future.
Best regards
Question: How to reply to an email without showing the original message? I was told to go to general preference which is availabe under Options-
but I don't have that.. What comes up is click Options on the mail is ...SIGNATURE, SPAM, FILTERS, VACATION RESPONSE AND A FEW OTHERS.
It drives everyone crazy. How else can I use the reply button and not have their message shown?
Answer: That "used" to be an option,----back when we had a "general preferences" under options.
But you know Yahoo---always updating and reformatting ---which changes everything.
That option was removed (nearly a year ago) along with general preferences.
The only thing you can do now, is to delete the original message yourself.
You MUST click on "reply" first.
Then in the reply window---highlight the original message, and press the delete key on your *keyboard*, and !poof! it's gone.
Now you've got a blank page to type in your reply before sending.
(you can also get rid of the list of previous addresses the same way)
"Sometimes" it's better to erase smaller portions at a time, instead of all at once.
For small OR stubborn areas----you can just backspace them out and you don't even have to highlight for that.
Question: How do I reply to people who have helped me to answer my questions? I just don't know how to reply back to people who have answered my questions. Help please.

2-Write it when you are closing the question. (Choosing a best answer.)
3-Send them e-mail through their profile page if they enabled the option.
4-IM them through their profile if they enabled the option.
Question: How do I reply to multiple people who have wished me a happy birthday on Facebook? Is there a reply all feature? Or do I just thank everyone with a message on my wall?
Answer: Put it as your status. Wall will do too.
Question: How do you reply on yahoo groups? I was just wondering how to reply to someones comment because when you hit reply at the bottom of the page. Then a box will pop up showing all the messages that people have replied to on the subject but then here is where my question comes in. Where do you type your reply or my reply? Do I erase what everyone else has done and type my reply or do I place my reply at the top of their messages or do I place my reply at the bottom of the page? I'm confused. Can someone help. Thanks for your answers. Have a blessed day.
Answer: It's as you like yourself ... the sofware gives a number to the original message and that way understands who initiated what and who replies or gives a reply to a reply.
Typing your reply at the bottem or the top or between the lines ? It's up to you.
My experience:
newest at the top .. that way people that follow the discussion immediately see the reply and they know what preceeded ... those that are new or didn't pay particular attention to a discussion ... well.. they know they just have to read from the bottom and read their way upwards.
Another one... try not to mix to many issues in 1 email ... better is to send every item/issue in a separate posting because people are still getting used to email imho and seem to be able to focus on 1 thing only and don'r reply in 90% of the cases to a second issue raised in 1 same email.
Also ... if you see several issues raised in 1 email : split up the replies. Announce in a first email that you're going to split up the replies eventually.
Question: How do I reply to a letter which, unfairly, complained about my Real Estate service? Had not been able to sell for the price they wanted.
Sent written communication - they said they wanted visual.
Said they never knew the length of list but this was described clearly although they were upset the night of listing as financial woes.
Said they believed the firm was not concentrating on selling a property that incidentally the firm has spent huge money on marketing - they now receive nothing for that.
Please do help as I need to reply to protect myself and my company.
Answer: Regardless of what you say in your reply, it's important to keep a level head and remain professional. Their dissatisfaction may not be in your services but more that they're financially strapped and were looking for a way out of debt.
I'd take a night to think things through before replying. Attach copies of any agreements that specify anything they've questioned so that your company is covered from liability. Simply explain to them that your firm had their best interest in mind and despite your best efforts and the current state of the economy, you weren't able to attract a buyer.
Don't candy coat and again, remain professional. Best of luck to you and your company. =)
Question: Is it hard to get a publishing agency to reply back to your query letter? I recently sent my query letter to this publishing agency. About a week later I got a reply. I wasn't really excpecting a reply becuase I've been told that agencies are really particular and they only reply to such things that could be in their interest or topic...
I told them all my information and story sypnosis and they replyed and told me to send the first three chapters to them as soon as possible. Do alot of places do this or is this good?
Answer: Congrats on the partial request. Yes, it's good, but not all agencies do this. They only request it from those who's queries interest them, and most people will get turned down.
There are some agents that won't reply at all if they don't like your query, so no response means a rejection in those cases. Most agencies will respond with some kind of rejection form letter if they don't like your query. If they like it then of course they'll request a partial manuscript. How long it takes the agent to reply depends on the agent. Some reply within hours or days and a few extreme cases have been a year or more. Most take a few weeks to a couple of months.
Question: How should I reply to a recruiter who is asking me to come in for an interview? How should I reply to a recruiter who is asking me to come in for an interview? Does this constitute an ethical decision for me, if I'm already a dedicated supervisor with another company?
Answer: If you aren't at least considering changing jobs, then it's really a waste of your time. But I don't see any ethical issues. You could even do it just for interviewing practice.
Question: How do I reply to the people that have answered my questions? How do I reply to those of you, that answer my questions?
Do I have to add you to my contact list?
Answer: After choosing best answer, you can leave a comment for them.
Additionally, click on their name and see if they allow IM or E-mail by the right hand side of their avatar.
Question: How to I reply to an email from an employer in a professional way? I just got a job offer through e-mail from an interview I went on a few weeks ago. I am supposed to reply that I will be accepting the job, can you give me an example of a professional way to do this? Thanks.
Answer: email is much more casual that letters, so don't worry too much about form.
I practically live in emails at my job, and a short, concise, friendly response is your best bet.
something even as simple as:
I am happy to accept the position, and thank you so much for providing me this great opportunity. See you at work!
--- don't beat around any bushes, be sure that the first thing you say is yes! :-)
Question: How do you reply to people who answer your questions? I cant figure out how to reply to peoples answers on here, i want to ask them something specific but seems like i cant. Help!
Answer: You cannot reply to the people who answer your questions, but you can add additional information in your question and once those people come back to your question, they'll see your "reply" to them.
And you can always reply/ give comment to the answers you got when you're choosing the best answer.

Answer: First off, was there any mention of the salary or the start date? If so, you should include that as well as any other pertinent information. For example:

Question: How do you reply to an instant message on yahoo? I can't reply to instant messages. I hit reply but it doesn't let me type a reply.
Answer: You do have to type it before you can send it.
What version do you have? 9 has a glitch where it will not send or receive IMs. Get rid of it and google for 8.1.0.421, as this version is one of the more stable ones and is also the most recent besides 9.
G'luck.
Question: How do I reply to feedback on Yahoo Answers? How do I reply to people who answer my question in the Yahoo Answers forum? I do not see a reply button in the thread. When I try to go their profile and email them, I'm told I need to enable Yahoo Answers, but when I click the enable link, nothing changes and I still cannot email the people who reply.
Answer: Y!A is not a chat room. It is a knowledge-seeking site in a question & answer format.
You have three options:
You can go to the user's profile & see if they accept IMs and/or emails. If so (and you allow them too) you can contact them that way.
You can make 'comments' when you pick your Best Answer.
You can use the 'add details' function to add additional information to make your question more complete or understandable. Be careful what you add though, you don't want to have your question reported as a chatting violation.
:o)
Question: How come whenever someone sends me a reply to an email it goes to my other email address? Whenever I send someone email from my Yahoo account their reply goes to my AOL account. Then when I send a reply from my AOL account, it shows up on their end that as an email sent from my AOL account. I've tried changing every setting possible but nothing has worked so far.
Answer: Apparently, because you have your "reply to" setting, set up that way.
You just need to change it.
Mail page>>options>>mail options>>and the "general" page opens.
Near the top of that page (just under the from line setting) you'll find the "reply to" line.
Erase whatever is on that line AND leave that line BLANK---which will then allow the replies to come to your Yahoo account---THEN, click "save changes" at the top of the page.
You ONLY put an address on the "reply to" line IF you want replies going to a different address than the one from which it was originally sent.
........................
Just in case you're using the "New Mail".
Mail page>>options>>mail options>>accounts (side panel)>>add/edit an account>>Yahoo mail (side panel)>>edit>>general preferences----and change it and save it.
