Question: What laws or statutes are in place for the use of white or amber flashing lights on a non-emergency vehicle? I would like to add white and/or amber flashing LED strobe lights on my business vehicle which may be used for events, roadway and highway safety and other various non-emergency activities when the vehicle is not moving on the roadway or highway and is parked. I would like to know what laws and statutes exist which I can read, to make sure this is not illegal and I will not be harrassed by police for using the vehicle when directing traffic, blocking roadways, or sitting roadside at an event or non-emergency scene.
Answer: Each state has their own ruling on the use of amber or white strobes/flashing lights. Some states do require documentation authorizing the use and others have an umbrella policy of certain types of vehicles can use them without any additional documentation.
Normally, amber lights can be used on vehicles used for service/delivery without any complaints (rural mail carriers, newspaper delivery, trash collection, etc)
Please update your info with the state you are referring to so we can give you better answers.

Question: How can I obtain the federal laws and or statutes in Nevada regarding community associations? I need the laws in the State of Nevada or Federal regulations, regarding what my management team is liable for in the clubhose of a housing community. eg. Are we required to keep all lights on during business hours?
Answer: Nevada Statutes can be found here:
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/Index.cfm
Try looking at Chapter 40 and 41.
You probably want to look at the Community Rules, rather than NRS or Federal Code or Regulations. Generally what the Association is responsible for is a matter of contract, not of law.
My only other suggestion would be to contact an attorney in your area that could answer your question.

Question: How do we go about changing parentage laws and statutes? Does anyone know of any sites or organizations that fight for changes in laws or the way judges decide what a parent gets in a custody case. I know there are many sites for men...but what about women...or how about any that fight for the good parent whether they be a man or a woman?
I really have some issues and concerns but I dont know how to make my voice heard in a rational and professional way. Who do we address our concerns to and if that doesnt work how do we start an organization that will fight for what we want to see happen? How do we get our opinions out in the open and make others aware of the injustices in our legal systems...especially concerning children and the parents who love them.
All useful suggestions are greatly appreciated. I would really like help getting the voice of fairness heard by our judges and law makers.
Answer: To be honest, the only way to directly change a statute is through elected officials. The judge can only interpret the statute as it is written and he/she can't just overturn it b/c doing so would be a violation of the separation of powers.
Start getting involved in various campaigns and get your message out. Consider contacting your local colleges (if you have any nearby) to see if any of them have a group that would be interested in supporting the cause. Also, my community has an organization for women who are trying to collect child support payments from "dead beat dads". See if yours does too. Also, it couldn't hurt to write a statement in your newspaper opinions section to implore other child advocates to help with the cause.
If you need legal help try contact your local Legal Aid Association. Assuming your community has one, these lawyers provide legal advice for no or little money.

Question: How do federal public laws, session laws, and codified statutes differ?
Answer: Federal law is the body of law created by the federal government of a nation. A federal government is formed when a group of political units, such as states or provinces join together in a federation, surrendering their individual sovereignty and many powers to the central government while retaining or reserving other limited powers as. As a result, two or more levels of government exist within an established geographic territory. The body of law of the common central government is the federal law.
Session laws govern the proceedings of the legislature.
Codified statutes are the enacted laws published in formal written documents.

Answer: Answering spiritually, all written laws of man that prove man's sins and judgment's are touched on in all books of all religions. Gods spiritual laws that pertain to God/our Father have been imprinted in the hearts and minds of his people who he calls Israel. This is backed up by the new covenant, our Father made with his people and their descendants who are at war with no one.
Hebrews, 8; 10-12.
10. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their minds and write them in their hearts; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.
11. And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
All the written laws of men in the Old Testament have been muted by this covenant which is in full force today. These laws touch those who need no written laws to know right from wrong or how to live in harmony with God and their neighbors and the world knows them not. Yet God, the Father knows his people who are scattered throughout the world and his people know him, whether there are written laws or not. All written laws do is prove to men, the sins of man, amongst men. God the Father sees no sins of those who repent and seek him to learn of him and not through the teachings of men. For as the last verse in his new covenant states;
12. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins, and their iniquities will I remember no more.
I wish to share with you a truth from the Nag Hammadi which ties nicely to this covenant;
"Say to the children of my people, If your sins reach from earth to heaven, if they become red as scarlet and blacker than sackcloth, and if you return to me will all your soul and say to me, "My Father,"
I will listen to you as a holy people.
Awesome isn't it? Hope you enjoy truth as I do.

Question: Laws and Statutes concerning Louisiana Law Firm expansion?
Answer: Go to the Law School library and look up "jurisdiction" in three or four of the major legal dictionaries.
Then look at Joseph W. Glannon. Examples & Explanations: Civil Procedure, 6th edn. (New York: Aspen Publishers [Wolters Kluwer Law & Business], 2008). Look up "Pennoyer v. Neff" and
"International Shoe v. Washington" in the index, and also "jurisdiction" there. If you can't find this exact edition, look for anything by Glannon with a similar title.

Question: Where do I look up Maine and New Hampshire state laws and can I do it for free? Are these statutes? For instance insurance law......
Answer: i would suggest thinking about what laws you are specifically looking for. for example, if you want to find out if infertility is a mandated benefit in your state. you can go to the state website, or you can call into the dept of insurance for that state. there are ususally a lot of hard to read articles, so maybe someone can explain it to you. if you are asking b/c your health insurance coverage is excluding a certain procedure, chances are it is not a state mandated benefit in your state.
