Question: Androgynous ? Okay, so today I was talking to someone I had just met, and she just blurted out in the middle of conversation "you know you look androgynous?" ... Nobody has ever said that to me before, and I was wondering what you guys think. It was just so random. Question: What is the best way to approach androgynous people? Ok so i am mostly attracted to androgynous guys and girls. The only problem is that sometimes i don't know what they are you know? Like if they are girls or guys and i don't want to offend them. What is the best way to know what they are?

Answer: Don't ask. I'm an androgynous person and some androgynous people are okay with people asking, but some will get totally pissed, so just to be safe don't ask. After awhile you can usually tell, just by the way they walk and talk. If you really cannot figure it out get to know them first and ask. What ticks androgynous people off the most is when it's the first thing you ask. They don't even want to know your name or get to know you. They just want to put you in a box and forget you. But after you get to know them and become friends most androgynous people are cool with telling, unless they feel they are neither/mixed or of a third gender(s). Until you know use their name instead of pronouns.

Question: What are some good examples of androgynous haircuts? I need pictures. I know I said androgynous, but i mean a haircut for a girl that looks like a boy's but you can still tell she's a girl.

Question: What are your views on androgynous culture? The question basically explains itself. What are your views on androgynous culture and the fluidity of it and those who identify as androgen? Many people have separate definitions of androgyny, whether it be looks or personal identification. Some also believe it is the fact that one may not either identify with feminine or masculine behavior. In fact, many androgynous people are bisexual, such as myself, which is why I'm asking this here. What do you think?

Answer: i love androgynous females, they have the perfect combo of masculinity and femininity.

Question: How would the world be different if women dressed androgynous? If women didn't dress like women, but dressed androgynous. What would happen?

Answer: Men would have to stare at your crotch and chest in order to figure out if you're a woman or just a lumpy man, for one thing. And those of us who rebelled and refused to dress like that (like me) would get an awful lot of male attention. Most guys seem to like women to look feminine in some way, so I suspect there'd be an awful lot of unhappy guys. And an even bigger market for porn, where the women look like actual females instead of pseudo-men.

Question: What is a good sentence for the word androgynous? androgynous- being both male and female. I cannot think of sentence except this one.. The group was androgynous. Cause the group had both males and females in it.. Would that work?

Answer: I think the word is meant to be applied to one individual or thing that has both male and female characteristics. Remember that funny character Pat, on Saturday Night live? You couldn't tell if it was a him or a her? Some snakes, I understand, have both male and female sexual organs...quite androgynous.

Question: How do you feel about 'androgynous' people? Are you attracted to the androgynous type? I am androgynous and some girls like it and some girls don't. A lot of guys find it a bit creepy. Most of my friends are androgynous.

Answer: I like androgynous people. I am somewhat androgynous myself. I'm attracted to femme and androgynous girls.

Question: How to be androgynous as a guy? First of all. This is a question more directed at people in their late teens or early twenties. And anyone with negative things to say, don't even waste your time. I was wondering if anyone has any examples/tips/advice/links about how to be more androgynous as a guy? Answer: You know what Visual Kei is? Look at some of the Japanese Visual Kei band members' looks/hairstyles/dressing styles and see what suits you.

Question: What dosage of T would I need to take to retain an androgynous look? I'm a pre-T FTM guy, and I want to go on T to make my voice more masculine, but I would like to retain an androgynous look. I've been told by other FTM guys that this is possible if I go on a low dose of T, but how much is a low dose? Serious answers only.

Answer: Kyle is wrong, every FtM I know is injecting T at home. They get the prescription from a doctor and give the doses to themselves. He is right though in saying that you need a therapist to write a letter to your doctor. Then you can discuss the dosage with the doctor. Tell the doctor you do not want a heavy dose and they will probably adjust it for you. You need the doctor in order to get your liver and hormone levels tested. Question: Where is a good place to shop for female androgynous clothing? I like the somewhat still feminine but mostly androgynous look that's still form fitting, but cool too.

Question: What does it mean when you're really attracted to androgynous people? I find myself attracted to androgynous people more so than other people. I just love having male and female features in one person. Does this make me pansexual, bisexual or what?

Answer: Nice to see someone using the term pansexual properly! I think pansexual fits, but in the end it's your choice what label to use - if you use one at all.

Question: How can I look more androgynous? Question. I am a male, I stand 5'10" tall and weigh around 190 and have a relatively muscular chest and arms. I like to look masculine most times, but sometimes I feel I would like to look more androgynous. Question: How do I become more androgynous without being to "gay"? Im a guy But don't like going by that. I hate gender roles so ive been trying to be androgynous but not too much cuz people already think im weird for idk what reason. So far Ive failed completely at it. So how do I become androgynous?

Answer: Skinny jeans, unisex shirts, hair that could go for either gender (think Justin Bieber), keep as clean-shaven as possible (very important), shoes (like converse) that make your feet look slimmer, contacts or thin framed glasses if you have vision problems. Also, if you have a more emo/punk style it'll be less likely that people will automatically assume you're gay.

Question: What's a good colour to dye your hair for an androgynous look? I'm born a girl, but I am a transgender. I do like looking like a boy, therefore I like looking androgynous. I have pretty short hair, I'm 14 years old. Should I go darker or lighter for a more boy-ish look? Thanks for any help.

Question: How would you know if you yourself was Androgynous? How would you know if you yourself was Androgynous? What are the characteristics or trailts?

Answer: I think being androgynous is a deliberate choice. David Bowie, for example, has sported long hair, flashy clothes, and even some make up. I imagine he knows he was androgynous, because that is exactly what he was trying to be. EDIT: Jesse, that's different. You're thinking of a hermaphrodite.

Question: To what extent are most people androgynous? Androgyny is the fusing of conventional traits of femininity and masculinity in a single personality. To what extent are most people androgynous? To what extent could we be? Is androgyny the fulfillment of "total humanity"?

Answer: i think most ppl are androgenous in some way, we all have male and female parts to us. How we choose to appear physically is to some extent up to us, i mean we all choose to dress a certain way and to style our hair etc in a certain way. we are all individuals & present ourself and act the way we want to, we all act a little bit male and female in some ways. We are all diffferent & all have different personalities too, so some of those female or male traits can be supressed or expressed depending on our personality and who we are inside.

Question: Why do people name their kids with androgynous names? Why do people use androgynous names? Jo / Joe, Billie / Billy, Sam etc I would hate it! Why make life harder by naming your kid with a name no one knows the gender of?

Answer: I hate it too. There are some parents who shove masculine names on girls and other who just use androgynous names (most of them are actually nickname). Names like Billie, Jamie, Joey are used mostly as nicknames but some shove then onto girls claiming that these are feminine or unisex. They are not, unless they are used as nicknames to longer feminine names, eg. Josephine Jamila etc. Plus, who wants their child to grow up with half a name like Sam for example. Personally, I dont believe in unisex names, its juts a term some use to shove masculine names on girls without guilt. I actually once heard a woman shouting for Wesley and I was SHOCKED to know that Wesley is actually a little girl with pigtails!!! I really felt sorry for hair. Also some people claim that just because the name has a genderless meaning it can be used for any gender. For example Whitney means White Island and it a genderless meaning, thus, can be used for boys and girls. Personally, thats the lamest excuse i heard, because I can argue that Emily means Rival, thats a genderless meaning too, then how come no one is using it for boys them. These double standards are what I detest the most. Nowadays you really cant tell whos the boy and whos the girl, its shows low class and less education, also sometimes it shows that parents where not happy with their childs gender. Its selfish to use an opposite sex or androgynous name on a child, parents should consider their childs future, job applications, doctors offices and etc. Masculine names are for boys and feminine names are for girls, period.
