Gray Divorce
If a couple divorces after the age of 50, they are considered to have a gray divorce. According to U.S. Census data from 2004, there was a 20 percent drop in married couples (wed between 1955-1984) who reached their 20th anniversary.
Question: Is there anybody who sees the gray area of their divorced parents? How do you cope? My parents have been divorced for 8 years, and I see my parents for who they are individually, and I can pin point both ends of where my parents were right and wrong. Is there anyone else going through situations similar to this, so I know I'm not alone?
Answer: may the force be with you

Question: What is the best hairstyle for a professional 44 year old divorced guy? I have all my hair but it is gray.?
Answer: A businessman's tapered haircut. If the guy is fairly physically fit, also include an ivy league(long crew cut) or a crew cut. A good barber can design any of these styles to fully suit any 44 year old with a full head of hair's head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features. Hair color or marital status doesn't really play much part in the best style in terms of aesthetics. If he wants to appear more youthful, he might want to dye his hair back to it's natural color or a few shades lighter than the natural color if it was a darker shade. Women's colors give a much wider variety of shades than men's and may be more economical with those that can be mixed as needed since it usually only takes a portion of the package to dye men's regular cuts. Sorry, I only have pics of younger guys readily available; the haircuts are the same.

ivy league:

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form the short pomp front or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

Might want to take a look at the short, medium and celebrity galleries at the haircuts for men site; there are hundreds of photos of possible styles. Whichever style you decide on, take a photo to help describe it to the barber or stylist.
Good Luck!

Question: Trying to sell my horses fast due to divorce? My husband left me and I have to sell them fast. (By the end of September) I have ads at equinehits, horse.com, and equine.com. I have posters at the local farm supply store. Any other good places to sell them? If I can't sell them fast I'm going to have to surrender them to a rescue because I can't afford their feed any more.
I'm in Illinois, and I'm getting the coggins done on them saturday. Both of them need work, they've been pasture pets for 2 years because I have a bad back.

The grey has more training and is calm, I used to trail ride him english before I hurt my back and the bay is hot and has less training. I was in the middle of training him when I hurt myself and we never got back to him. They both have wonderful ground manners.
Answer: careful - he can ask for half of the proceeds on the horse in court
Question: Greys Anatomy; Izzie & Alex Divorce?!...Mark and Lexie break up!? Okay, so I just finished watching the 12th episode of season 6 Greys, and Alex told Izzie he wanted her to be happy and move away somewhere, practically telling her he wants a divorce. Does anyone know if this is just a minor setback to the relationship, or is this truly the end of Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev? I find this show has gone on for too long, and the plots and script are just getting ridiculous, there is no oomph to this show any more, I only watched it because of Izzie and Alex, and as well as Mark and Lexie. Them too seem like they are going down the drain, as they just broke up. So if anyone has any information about them 4, write it below, so I can finally finish watching this series.
Answer: your right the show is wack now...the only reason I keep watching is because of Patrick Dempsey and the nude scenes with Eric Dane, SOOO HOT. I Think it is the end of izzie and karev, so what. Even derek and meredith are boring ever since they married on a post it.
The show needs more spice, the new residents from mercy west are boring.
Question: hi I have just inherited a pair of love birds thrugh a divorce !! I already have an african grey, will this af?
Answer: It looks like some of your question got cut off. I will assume you are wondering if the presence of the new birds will affect your Grey? If that's your question, the answer is it could but it doesn't have to. It will be mostly up to you to handle the situation properly. That means not letting the new birds interfere with your Grey's schedule and amount of attention you give him/her. Most parrots don't like changes of any kind and Grey's are probably most guilty of that. Just keep things the same for him. Also don't allow them out of cage time at the same time. In spite of their size, Lovies can be quite aggressive and Greys tend to be more passive so somebody could get hurt if they are ever out, unsupervised. Good luck.
Question: Can You Divorce Your Wife on Harvest Moon DS??? I married Nami and now I want to marry Leia. I know you can divorce on Harvest Moon DS Cute...but I'm not sure about this. I got her to a grey heart already and she hates me...but she WON'T GO AWAY!!!!!
Answer: I hate to break the news to you, but in both Harvest Moon DS and Harvest Moon DS Cute, you won't be able to divorce. In Harvest Moon DS Cute, "divorcing" is only an event you experience when you get your husband to less than 5000 LP AND that you have not borne your husband a child. The Divorce event in HMDS Cute not only does NOT divorce your husband, it also helps you to regain LP, if not FP.
If you really want to marry Leia, you'll need to start a new game all over. I know it sucks, I'm sorry, but that's how Natsume programmed it to be.
Question: Is it illegal in Michigan to take a photo of your naked spouse while they are sleeping? My sister recently found out that her husband who she is now divorcing was taking photos of her while she slept (she sleeps in the nude) he was then placing them on his laptop....
We have been told that this is a gray area due to them being married....she is mortified!!
Does anyone know if this is illegal in Michigan?
Answer: YES!!!
It is a copyright violation. Your sister owns her image and it can you be reproduce, recopy and transmitted WITHOUT her written permission.

Question: Why do most Americans turn to divorce as soon as things start turning grey? There are going to be some problems in a relationship, but you're not supposed to just abandon your significant other and your vows and the promise that you made to God when those problems arise.
So most people are just getting married on a whim, nowadays? They don't seriously consider the decision they're making. If they did, then they wouldn't be cheating with their spouses.
If those people had so many problems, then why did you say yes when they proposed?
Especially if you couldn't handle it.
Seems easier to just say no and never get married than to just get married and then get divorced and then get married again.
Thanks for answering my question! I appreciate your answers.
Answer: MOST of us don't. I've been married 24 years, and we're going strong despite an infidelity (me) and a drug addiction (her) in our past. It makes me angry that people like you perpetuate the MYTH that divorce is rampant and that the state of marriage is worse than it really is.

Question: Who should have been crowned instead of Elizabeth I? Some people (including Catholics past and present) contest that Elizabeth I was illegitimate on the grounds that Henry VIII's divorce of Aragon was not legal. On this basis, who would have been next in line if we ignore Acts of Succession. Mary I had no children so it appears we look at Henry VII's and Elizabeth of York's children. By 1558 - Mary I's death - it seems Jane Grey would have been the heir?
Thanks for the two replies so far, but please note, I am aware of what _actually_ happened and I am aware of the 3 laws of succession. What I am looking for is a name *assuming* that divorce is not legal and assuming that those succession laws didn't happen.
Oops, I see the second post did in fact answer my question. I will try to sort out the best answer.
Answer: Lady Jane Grey had been executed in 1554,so was hardly in a position to succeed to the throne in 1558.
What you're suggesting is that Elizabeth shouldn't have succeeded because she wasn't a child of Catherine of Aragon, but it was not (and never had been) the role of the Pope to make or dictate the law in England. Elizabeth was the legal heir, because that's what English Law (passed some 2 decades earlier) said. If you want to bypass Elizabeth, next in line was Mary Queen of Scots, who remained Elizabeth's official heir until her execution in 1587.
Question: I have BPD what can I do about splitting? I just found out that I have Borderline Personality Disorder. The biggest thing is the splitting (Black and white) mentality. What can I do about it? How can I change it so I see the grey?
The other thing is the fear of abandonment. I'm getting a divorce and I always feel like cutting and whats worse is it's getting easier to cut. Because of my husband I feel like I am being abandoned. I just want to run away but I can't.
Answer: Looking for the grey isn't easy, but not impossible. I use rational thinking to counteract splitting. It's to complicated to explain here, but read the author M. Maultsby. Look for what's called "absolutes" in your self-talk and vocabulary. Words like always, never, should etc. When I'm telling myself that my significant other, or anyone for that matter, is "always" doing this, or "never" does that, I'm lying to myself and staying in the black. Reality is people don't "always" do things. Look into your past and honestly see if you have always done something without exception, we can't hold others to that standard. Welcome to the grey!
Question: a few questions about The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis please answer as many as you can!!\? 1 What sin or flaw does the Ghost in chapter 5 represent?
#2 Why did the Intellectual Ghost prefer to return to the grey town rather than journey to the mountains?
#3 What aspect of human nature does Ikey represent? (greed, pride, purity, vanity)
i clearly need this for homework and didnt read the book...i might not be able to graduate if i dont do good on this. so please help meeee
Answer: I could help you, but I won't just give you the answer. I'll HELP you, but that means you have to start by telling me what YOU think the answer to the question is and then I'll comment and help you refine it. We'll start with what YOU figured out and we'll build on that.
I won't just do your homework for you because you are too lazy to do it yourself, but I will help if you put in some modicum of effort yourself.
Question: Is divorce the quickest way to GET RICH FAST for some people who are ABLE to take advantage of it? If I was a woman and I was bored of my bald graying husband's wrinkled body who was taking viagra, or if I met somebody more handsome, or if I was vaguely unhappy/emotionally unstable, I don't see WHY I WOULDN'T divorce the husband and take $400000 in retirement, pension, alimony, equity, assets, child support (for themselves), etc. I may not be unethical to do that, but when you have the option afforded to you to get out of the "lifelong partnership" and win yourself a guaranteed half of everything your husband worked for (by waking up early to go to work in the last 15-20 years).....WHY WOULDN'T ANYBODY SEIZE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO GRAB THEMSELVES SO MUCH CASH WITHOUT PUTTING IN THE WORK TO DO IT? ALL IN THE MEANTIME I CAN LIVE A REFRESHING LIFE OF UNEMPLOYMENT FOR 10-15-20 YEARS UNLIKE THE HUSBAND WHOSE LIFE ENDED THE MOMENT HIS CAREER STARTED? Think about this titillating prospect for unemployed women living the high life. Would you trust anybody with all this money on the line with the high divorce rate of 80% of initiators of divorce being women who were the beneficaries of the husband suffering at work working long hours? $400000 or more is nothing to sneeze at. Think about how expensive one iPod is....$400000 is 1333 iPods. 1333 iPods.
Divorcing women don't need to learn any skills or filter out scams on TV and the internet to cash in on this large sum of money, you just need to drive to the local courthouse armed with a pen, the odds of winning it big are much more better than if you went to the local grocery and scratched a ticket. 1:1 as a matter of fact, not 1:143 million.
I truly believe there is no easier, lazier, quicker way to get so much cash in a lump sum that is so guaranteed. 1:1. 1:1. 1:1. No risks, no business venturing entreprenurship, no education, no intelligence needed to cash in.
With the courts opening this can of worms with no-fault divorce to make them win $400000, what do you think of the necessity of pre-nups to shield myself from a wife who may cheat or leave me and break up the supposed "lifelong partnership"? DISCLAIMER: if the husband cheated or beat the wife or left on his own, this all doesn't apply.
Why put in the time to work hard when some women can just marry somebody who is forced to work hard since they are male without the choice to be a house-husband?
Answer: Your so correct. I have known women that so take advantage of their faithful, loving, hardworking husbands in a divorce and it's so unfair. And one of the women (my hubby's ex wife) was cheating for 5 years prior to her moving out to live with her boyfriend, then a year later he filed for a divorce and she went after spousal support and his retirement and got it even though the court was aware she was living with another man for the past year. This is in Michigan which is a no fault state and seems to favor women.
Yes, sadly, prenups are in a mans best interest but should be void if he abused or cheated and this claim would have to be proven with hard proof such as photos, recordings and such.
Mary in Camden, MI
PS~
When my first hubby & I divorced, I did NOT take him to the cleaners and I could have, we actually excluded Friend Of The Court (FOC) for child support. He paid me what we agreed upon and never let our 3 sons go without. He was a good man and I did not want to take advantage of him because I am not like that.
PSS~
I was remarried after my divorce and my late husband died, we had 1 son together so I have a total of 4 sons. I am now remarried and my hubby is a house husband, he retired with 30 years in and I am working. My income is more than his and we are perfectly okay with our situation, it works for us.
Question: Would you divorce a man if? I just read a story about a man who poisoned his wife's beloved grey tabby because he was very jealous and he felt that she gave more love and attention to the cat rather then him. So when she was away on a trip without him, he had put rat poison in it's food and it died eventually. Later she found rat poison in the house, and when she went to the vet to check it out they had found rat poison in his system. So she knew he had killed the cat. ladies, if your bf or husband did this to your cat what would you do?
Answer: yes I would divorce him. He's dangerous. How could she possibly love him when he's killing something important to her? Killing/abusing animals is a red flag for possible violence towards people in the future. What is he going to do when he gets jealous over something else?
