Matrilocal Residence

The residence pattern in which a newly married couple moves in with or near the bride's mother's house. This keeps women near their female relatives, while men must leave their natal households. Matrilocal residence is strongly associated with matrilineal descent.

Question: What specifically is included in a matrilocal residence? I am taking an "at-home-quiz" for Cultural Anthropology. I am familiar with the definition of matrilocal, which is that a husband lives with his wife's family after marriage. What I am confused about is if this includes their unmarried children. One question I must answer in the quiz is "How many people are in the matrilocal extended family household of #57, including EGO?" Number 57 is a female, and I'm able to trace back all of her female relatives that she lives with, and their husbands. But should I count the chilld that number 57 has with her male counterpart number 56? This child is not married.

Answer: Yes, I'd say count the child. In matrilocal residence, the husband lives with the bride's parents. That leads me to believe that you'd count the child. Let me know how it works out.
