Small-scale Society
Generally a society of a few dozen to several thousand people who live by foraging wild foods, herding domesticated animals, or non-intensive horticulture on the village level. Such societies lack cities as well as complex economies and governments. Kinship relationships are usually highly important in comparison to large-scale societies.

Answer: birth control and negative propaganda toward children. popularizing promescuity.popularizing women away from the home. increasing pornography availabilty.
Question: Differences between industrial countries art and small scale societies art? like the ones of the nomadic hunters and gatherers and the herders?
Answer: My guess would be, the answer lies in the technology itself, of industrial and small scale societies.
Take, for example, the Native Americans say, versus the White Eastern Seaboard Settlers.
The Indians would have had pictograms painted with Earth colours on skin parchment, while the settlers would have brought their printing presses from Europe with them. The Indians would have sewn their clothing decorations using bone needles while the Europeans were long using metal needles.
'Art' per se for the Indians would have been Totem Poles depicting animals and Tribal History while already, landscape artists and portrait painters were hurrying to The New World to earn a living. Even the early settlers houses, once built with brick and mortar, would have been copied from European styles, Mock Tudor, etc., and even an Inn would have the European board painting depicting the pub's name and a picture.
In a loose reference to art in comparisons, the settlers were producing furniture and house decorations of a sophisticated nature while the Indians lived in tepee tents which, by virtue of their mobility and portability, would been simple animals skins, not given to bearing heavy decorative artwork.
The Navajo were famous for silver-work ornaments and jewellery and highly decorated blankets. The settlers imported Birmingham wool blankets.
Even their methods of recoding History was vastly different. The Indians had a long a colourful Oral History of the Creation Myths and Tribal Tales, while the Europeans were already creating book collections and eventually, libraries.
One final difference was the personal appearance of both cultures. The Indians decorated themselves on their bodies, particularly when engaged in War and Conquest, painting their faces in fearsome colours and placing eagle feathers in their hair to depict bravery. The Europeans dressed according the the fashions of Europe when they became settled or wore fur-skins and buckskin with little adornments, more practical than fashionable.
Question: any small scale green business ideas where society can benefit and i can profit ? ?
Answer: Grow your own vegi's. Cherry tomato's going for $4/pound now? I used to grow a bunch of those plants along the edge of my driveway. Easy and people seem to like them. Same for other vegetables. Got room for chickens? $3.95 a dozen eggs if they are at all locally grown and fresh.
Question: why were early anthropologist particularly interested in studying small scale, non-western societies with rela why were early anthropologist particularly interested in studying small scale, non-western societies with relatively simple technology?
Answer: Because they reflected early Hunter/Gatherers tribes of humans, prior to the Neolithic Revolution (Before 10,000 BP), which were organized in a similar way, usually consisting of under 200 members!

Question: I would like to start a small scale rescue "center" ...focused on APBTs. (please read)? I am an avid APBT lover. I own a 5 year old and he is great. I have owned, fostered, rescued and trained many dogs.
I would like to start a small scale rescue center. I would like to adopt 2-3 dogs at a time (meaning 2-3 in my home at any one time) and re-home them myself. I think that this way, the dogs will be able to socialize with other dogs, and children (we have a son) and run around while i am "fostering" them. I understand that i would have to know all of the info on the dogs such as temperament and story. I also understand that this will be a huge responsibility, but i believe i am up to the task.
I was a marine for 5 years and am now in College one night a week but it counts as full time....so im home all day for the most part. I live in a 2 story 3 br home with a large back yard that is fenced in by a 8-10 foot wood fence.
What do you think of this idea? What advice can you give me? do you think that the shelters and humane society would support my plan?
Im not sure what type of insurance would be required....we have 300,000 in Liability insurance
Answer: I think you are taking on a lot and salute your efforts! If you contact your shelters I'm sure they would work with you and you could find one needing someone to take the hard to place pits. The only problem might be you might need to be insured and bonded to take them on. Also you need to check your state and county restrictions and licensing. I know of a lot of pit owners that are always taking in pits just so they don't get put down then re-homing them. Good luck and hope you have great success!
Question: is cottage industry restricted in housing society bye-laws? I am a member of a housing co-op. society in Thane (Maharashtra -India). I prepare and sell food items like chivda, alu-wadi, idli etc on a small scale and sell to the shop-keepers. I am doing this business since last 15 years in this society. I am not uitilising any of the extra space of the society. But now the committe members of the society says that doing such activity in a society is illegal. Are they right? Is there any bye-law of hsg society federation restricting such activity in a housing society?
Answer: Firstly it depends on the rules and regulations of your society. Even if there is nothing about it the general interpretation will apply. as i am not aware of the rules and regulations of your Housing Society, i am assuming the standard rules and regulations. On the basis of that assumption i can say that the House is to live and reside there. The occupants are not allowed to use that property for other purposes. So your activity is not permitted. at least it is in violation of Breach of contract, violation of zoning regulations and public/private nuisance,

Question: What's the word used to describe something that parralels something else, but on a smaller scale? I can't think of it. Like, a school is a *blank* of society.
Answer: microcosm
Question: With all its incomprehensible nutters, is Y!A representative of society in general? My observations indicate a lot of psychopaths, negative attention seekers and people who would make more sense if they smashed their face on the keyboard.
With this in mind, do you think Y!A represents society in general but on a smaller scale?
What's more amazing, that we evolved from stellar dust over billions of years, or that society stays afloat even though it's awash with freaks? :)
Answer: You can decide for yourself if i fit into any of the 'observed' groups mentioned, but since it'll just be an observation and guesswork - it's kinda irrelevant to me what any one or many think of me (too old, and sick of folks, to care).
As for the question(s) - If you ask the representative question from not so much a specific 'what's written' basis, but how what you may observe reflects on what appears in the 'real world' of society in general, i think it's be fair to say there are (especially where there is an open unmoderated avenue to comment, or simply vent your thoughts) the same kind of instances and amounts of it in the offline 'real world'.
It's just that in the offline world, your window is a window with a smaller landscape, so in probability you see fewer examples, and the ones that stand out are those which are more 'local' in proximity and association (i.e. it has more to do with your life, than in general).
I don't like, or willingly, pigeon-hole people with emotionally reaction formed 'names', so terms, categories and slang names - and i treat use of the convenient & often irrational use of them equal outlook.
After all, who is really qualified, let alone entitled (beyond their own self-belief) to decide who is who in the context of irrationally described sanity & intellectual capability..??
As fo how far we have come, from less than mere specks of dust (that's big by comparision to the true particle origins as far as anyone can tell so far), I'd have to say that we've pretty much evolved and adapted in a reactive way to our environment and perception of what should or shouldn't be.
And given there is no proven, tangible, existence of a guiding hand that's been tangibly responsible for the shaping of humanity, well i guess we are simply a result of what happens when chaos finds some kind of natural occuring balance, not overly predictable as to where we'll go or logical in terms how we managed to get this far being as we are and still not managing to wipe ourselves off the face of existence wholesale.
But as the observant notice, order and belief driving the evolution of society isn't any absolute to making society better, it just helps to establish benchmarks to govern order by :P
Question: In todays world is there really a need for religion? Now a days we appear to have become more of a secular society. On a small scale (because the question is not about wars started by religion) within communities and countries is religion important, do we really need it, or is it out dated and can we only rely on ourselves? Let me know?
Please give reasons for your answers.
This question is not set out to offend anyone, all serious and honest questions are welcomed.
Answer: As a country i don't think we do need religion however, man kind as a whole does. Although major religions are focused on, widely religion is apparent,In tribes with no external influence from any other culture. Religion is an easy way to make a society work without having one person with more apparent power than another. There is a need for this higher power figure within life, I personally go with Freud's theory that we are born with Thanatos ( Death) and Ethos ( Love) Insticts. We are born with these drives and through oiur fear of death and want for love we find something to protect us. Religion is important it does hold merit in the world, creates a morality structured with threat and reward which without parental figures could be lost in someones life. It prevents loneliness and creates communities. Some people do need it others don't is the only way I can answer this. Until there is no more fear, need for a powerful being and all questions are anwsered noone would turn away.

Question: Is there a site that will list and show all past amusement parks specificly in California? I remember some small scale amusement parks my mom and dad used to take me. A couple though I can not for the life of me remember there names. Is there a historical society of amusement parks I can check out?
Answer: This may be of some help to you:
http://www.rcdb.com/pr.htm?pstatus=142&l…
There are two pages, so be sure to check the second page if you don't find what you are looking for. If you click on the park name another page will open with more information on that park. That page will sometimes have links to other websites like fansites or pages dedicated to the memories of certain parks. I hope this helps you.

Question: How does asthma effect/contribute the following :-? How does asthma affect society ?
And what are the small scale effects ( family).
(Small scale effects of asthma)
And the long term effects (country or the planet )
(Long term effects on the country or planet)
Thankyou for your answers :)
Answer: How does asthma affect society ?
About 23 million people, including almost 7 million children, have asthma.
Asthma accounts for nearly 17 million physician office and hospital visits, and nearly 2
million emergency department visits each year.
http://www.epa.gov/asthma/pdfs/asthma_fa…
And what are the small scale effects ( family).
40,000 people miss school or work due to asthma. Annual expenditures for health and lost productivity due to asthma are estimated at over $20 billion, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
http://www.aafa.org/display.cfm?id=8&sub…
And the long term effects (country or the planet )
Some see the asthma problem growing and growing costing us more and more. The more asthma cases our there, the more missed days of school, the more ER visits/hospital stays and the more people die from it. This will cost us billions of dollars each year to control.
Question: What would you call this economic system? The primary elements of the society are the individual and the family, following with increasingly lower importance: community, county, state, and then federal. All individuals are capitalistic players - either partners or independent contractors. All social systems are taken care of by the family and community. Those who are underaged, overaged, temporarily decapacitated, and those who are permanently decapacitated are taken care of by the family. If the family has insufficient means to take care of them the community steps in and lends a helping hand, whether donated or loaned depending on circumstances. The state would never get involved unless the whole community was effected, like by a small scale natural disaster or plague. The nation would never get involved unless it was a statewide or multistate disaster.
Fire departments, police, and roads, at least city roads are administered through the community. Schools may either be ran by the community or private individuals, or
both.
The state takes care of state roads and state militias.
The federal government will have the ability to organise the state militias into a national army and provides national training and standards for the state militias.
Any federal costs would be paid for by the state, state - community, community - individual/family.
I might be forgetting things but if you can put it as close as you can to the individual as necessary or bring it up I might be able to place it.
What would you call this economic system?
Were the colonists anarchists?
American colonists that is.
Answer: The overall system is clearly laissez-faire capitalist with a bit of a socialist flavour.
It is important to realise that no society can be classified completely as capitalist, socialist, communist etc. Different systems are in place within the verious levels.
Even in the most right-wing capitalist countries, family units are typically economically communist (from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs).
Question: What theoretical perspective is best represented in the movie, The Pursuit of Happiness? 1. Functionalism- Firstly, society is viewed as a system – a collection of interdependent parts, with a tendency toward equilibrium. Secondly, there are functional requirements that must be met in a society for its survival (such as reproduction of the population). Thirdly, phenomena are seen to exist because they serve a function.
2. Conflict Theory- States that the society or organization functions so that each individual participant and its groups struggle to maximize their benefits, which inevitably contributes to social change such as changes in politics and revolutions.
3. Interactionism- Focuses on micro patterns (small-scale patterns) of face-to-face interactions between individuals in specific settings. It's based on two key assumptions. First, humans do not respond directly to the physical world. Secondly, humans are constantly engaged in interpreting the worlds in which they live and act accordingly.
Answer: All of the above. They are not mutually exclusive and while it is easy think this or that is why some one in a particular manner it is also easy to see how circumstances can change and so too can tactics and perspectives. Conflict, order, function, and interaction, they all come to form one cohesive game plan I like to call succeed at all costs.

Answer: Your address should only appear once, not twice; it is the same so just consolidate it by saying Permanent address.
Remove the reference names and addresses and put "References available on request." Then put them on a separate sheet and give them out at the interview.
Remove the secondary school education entries. Not necessary.
Remove the Declaration. Also not necessary.
Remove the personal skills entry as well. Save that for the interview.
Otherwise, this is very good. As a personal preference, I would remove the "objective" as well (since you have a summary), and save it for the cover letter, but you don't have to--that's optional.
Good luck to you in your job search!
