Birth Father
The biological father of a child.
Question: How long does the birth father have to sign the birth certificate? If the father of my baby says he is the father and doesn't want a paternity test, then how low long after the baby is born will he have to come and sign the birth certificate? I don't want him at the hospital when I delivery, so when should he come, if at all?
The father and I are no longer together adn that is why I don't want him at the hospital. I told him that the baby wil have my last name and he said he wants to be named as the father, so I agreed to that. But nothing more like he can help name the baby. We aren't married. And, I live in California.
Answer: You let your doctor and hospital know that you do not want him there when you are in the hospital, they will send him off with security if he shows up. I had a similar situation when my son was born. I too was not with the father and I did not want him showing up at the hospital. So what you do is you fill out the paper work and sign it. Do not put the father's name on it yet. You need to get him into court for child support, The judge will make an order for the state to amend the birth certificate to add the father later once paternity and child support has been established. Or you can just fill out the paperwork and add the father to it then and sign it and send it in without the father's signature. As far as I know if you two aren't married or together, then he doesn't need to sign the paperwork. I could be wrong, each state has different laws. So, there's some options. good luck.
Question: How do I ask my birth mother who my birth father is? I need a delicate way to ask my birth mother if she has any information at all about who my birth father is. I was adopted almost as soon as I was born, and was conceived (I think) during a very shortrelationship (a couple of weeks at most). My birth mother was veyr young, and I am going to meet her for the third time next month.
Answer: Can't say it any better than anyone else...just ask?
I suggest you do it in the form of an open ended question "What can you tell me about my father"? rather than "Will you tell me about my father?"
She might be embarrassed that it wasn't a longer relationship, but you've got to just let her know you are interested in also knowing history of the rest of your biological family. You shouldn't have to justify that to anyone.
Question: How can you find your birth father? My friend is 16, and she is adopted. Her birth mother is handicapped and lives in a mental place. They believe that her birth father was one of the workers at the place. My friend has met her birth mother multiple times but she is really curious and wants to meet her dad. Her family doesn't have a lot of money, is there some way for her to track him down? Her birth mother wont talk about him at all.
Answer: does she know his name
try like yellow pages facebook and websites like that
does she have any other relatives that would tell her more
and go from there
but as her good friend
make shes prepaired for w.e that might happen
either with him accepting her..or maybe he doesnt want anything to do with her at all( depending on the situation why shes not living with him and stuff)
because some times the outcomes are good and sometimes they are bad( like i said depending on the situation..like i fhe walked out...or if the mom took her away from him..and soo on)(
Question: What happens in an adoption if the birth father does not return the forms? My stepdaughter's birth father is going to be in prision AT LEAST until 2019 and it's not the first time he's been in there either (sex offender, burglery, dangerous drugs). Anyway, the state sent the paperwork to him and that was a month ago. What will happen if he never sends it back just because he does not care? (he has never been involved in her life).
Answer: He will lose all parental rights.
I can see by my "thumbs down" that the truth isn't pretty ;)
Question: How can i find my birth father? I was later adopted by my (birth) mothers husband. Would my birth father's name be on my "original" birth certificate? My mother will not discuss it stating she doesn't remember, and no one in my family knows anything. I've always wanted to know this man, but had no help from my mother or family members. I was born in Texas, and adopted in Texas. I know i was 2 when i was adopted. I have a corrected birthcertificate which lists the adopted father as my own. Any help would be great.
Answer: If your mother's husband was present in her life at the time you were born and your father wasn't then your mother's husband's name is probably on it
Question: Birth Father? I just found out the "Big Secret" in my wifes family. Apparently my wifes Father isn't her natural father. She's 38 now and never has been told. It's always been tough for her and her other two siblings to get along and subconsciously they know something is different. It appears that all of her Aunts and Grand Parents know.
Do I have any obligation to tell her about it.

Just to clarify, her younger brother and sister so not know about it. My wife has been and always has been the tough one to have a personal relationship with. Our relationship is strained at best. We just got back together after 2 years of separation.
Do I have any obligation to tell her about it? Now I feel like I have been thrown in the middle of this whole situation and wish I didn't know. If I try to tell her she could take it the wrong way and think I was just trying to make her unhappy. I think it explains her personality a bit because she can be described as the proverbial "Hell on Wheels" and seems to be full of drama about something most of the time.
Answer: It is not your place to get into her family's secrets. However, I would advise you to speak with her family and let them know that they really need to tell her. You can even bluff and say that you're going to tell her if they don't.
Question: How can I find a family member that has been in the military(birth father) if all i have is a name? One thing i need out of life is the find my birth father. I have a first and last name and I know that he was in the military. I would think that by now he would be out of the service but I really dont know. You have to pay for everything over the internet, but if I get some ideas on how to narrow my search down would be great.
Answer: Dont pay attention to "proud to be an american" her soldier cheated on her and so now she thinks it will make the hurt go away to try and insult others....typical sociopathic behavior if you ask me! no wonder he cheated! LOL
Anyway, there are MANY MANY websites that are for veterans and old military members to reconnect, many bulletin boards and such. Try here: militaryconnections.com, also try military.com. Good luck
Question: Can a baby be given up for adoption by the birth mother without the birth father's consent? A friend of mine who is the birth father wants his baby but the birth mother wants to give it up for adoption.I am from Alberta.I don't know the adoption laws. The adoption agency keeps phoning him and putting pressure on him but he does not want the baby to go for adoption. Also is there any money in it for the agency for them to keep harassing him?
Answer: Does Canada have a putative father's registry?? That is where the putative father (father not married to mother) would register stating he thinks the baby is his, gives the moms name and his information....Some states in the U.S. have this and if the father does not register, then sometimes he is just out of luck and the adoption can proceed as if there is no known father.....
If he wants his baby then he should be able to have his child and no questions asked. As all have said already...he needs to lawyer up and make his voice heard.
Question: I want to take my birth father off my birth certificate? I want to take my birth father off my birth certificate and put my Step Dads. How and can I do that?
Answer: You cant take him off your birth certificate but you sure can ask your Step Dad to adopt you.
Question: When is it appropriate to let my son search for his birth father? I got pregnant in college and the father left before I gave birth. I'm married now and have another child. My son is now 12 and asking about his birth father. He wants to know where he is but doesn't necessarily want to meet him. Is 12 an appropriate age to deal with the consequences of what he might find out? I know nothing about this man, if he's alive or dead, married or not, kids or not. I understand his need to know who his father is but don't know if he's ready.
Answer: Is there anyway you can tell him, "Yes, we can try to find him together." Then you try to find him, and if there is anything bad your son may need to know, you can sit him down and prepare him for it. But I agree with all the other answers that he is probably ready, come what may. Honesty is always the best way to deal with situations like this. Kudos to you for handling it so well.
Question: Is there a website where I can find my birth father for free? I really would like to find my birth father, but all the websites ive checked on, it all costs money. Can somebody help me?

Question: How do I go about finding my birth father? Me and my mother have NO relationship because shes been caught in a lie about my birth father, and other things of course. Growing up I was always told one name and when I turned 18 and got my birth certificate it said a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT name than what I thought it was. Also, Ive seen 2 different copies of my birth certificate, one with the "NEW NAME" and one without a name at all. Im really confused and have NO idea where to start my search. Somebody PLEASE help!
Answer: You're the one wanting to know, and your mother is possibly the only person who knows the answer. You may want to use that information in your strategy.
Question: How can I find my birth father? I'm trying to search for my birth father. Any ideas on how to find him?
Answer: ask your Mom....
Question: How do i find my birth father? I want to find out who my birth father is but I don't know anything about him. . Is there any way that I could still find him?
Answer: If you have absolutely no information about him, then it will be next to impossible. If your birth mother knows even the smallest amount of information it will help. Find an adoption search angel (google it) in your state and give her the information. They don't charge anything and are usually either adopted or gave a child up for adoption and have a passion for helping people out.
Question: What do small children call the birth father they see a few times a year for a few weeks? I live in Canada and my 3 nd 4 year old kids are with thier mother and step father in Ohio. The kids see me 3-4 times a year for about 2 weeks at a time. The step father has been in the picture since the childrens birth and so have I though not as much, for obvious reasons. I love my kids and pay support and consider myself thier daddy. The kids refer to the stepdad as daddy and my ex now has the kids calling me by my given name. I am not comfortable with this as I was raised to believe it is disrespectful to refer to your parents by thier first name.
I would like to ask people to put themselves in the position of the birth father, the mother, the stepfather and the children and come up with an idea of what the children should be encouraged to call me the birth father.
Answer: YOU are the father.. your ex is trying to replace you with the stepdad and that is not fair to the kids.
The kids are too young to understand what she is doing. If she keeps going on with this with them calling their own father by his name, when they get older, they will get confused.
She is trying to replace you and use him as a subsitute for you for the kids.
Tell her that you don't like this and how this will affect the kids when they get older and find out that their "dad" is not even their real dad.
I call my stepfather dad, because I dont have a real dad. He left my mom when she was pregnant. I have never met him, or even heard from him.
But you are in the picture, and they need to know who their father is.
Question: what is the easiest way to find my birth father or any siblings? im 38 and would like to find my birth father or any sibblings that i may have what is the cheapest, and easiest way to do this?

Answer: Facebook them.

Question: Whats rights do my 10 year old step sons birth father have after not being in there lives for 9 years? My wife has twin boys from a previous relationship. They are 10 years old and there birth father has not had any doings with them in 9 years. I got with my now wife when they were 3 years old and we have been married now for 2 years. As of late the birth father has been expressing an interest in seeing the boys again after all this time. My wife wants nothing of it. I am wondering what rights he has if any and how we should play this sticky situation. Any input would be a great help.
Answer: your best choice would be is to see a lawyer and while there discuss child support too
Question: Would children and adults still want to meet there birth father when they were told that he fled the country? Would children and adults still want to meet there birth father when they were told that he fled the country to avoid paying child support, when they were a baby. There birth father is a complete stranger to them.
Should those man still be arrested for not paying child support if they ever enter US soil again, more than 18 years later even as a tourist.
There birth father has never been in the US since the 1980', or 1970's.
Answer: A child will want to know who their parent is no matter what. I used to be a foster parent and these kids would do anything to go back to their parents even though their parents would beat them and treat them badly. Its just natural to what to know your parent. If your kids are old enough, I would talk to them about it...How do they feel? If you know he is in the US, should you report him or just let it go? Ask them how they feel about it and then decide.
