Question: Where can I buy an old book published by Life? I had a book when I was a kid, called The Story of Christmas (I think). It had DaVinci's paintings, A Christmas Carol, The Gift of the Magi, beautiful illustrations and photographs, poems, stories, letters, and pictures for celebrations around the world. It was published by Life books. I would love to find this book (doesn't have to be perfect condition) and buy it to start a new family tradition with my children. Anyone have any ideas? I've searched ebay and google.
Answer: Amazon is a good source for out of print books. I've bought several there.
Question: What book has changed your life the most? How did it affect your way of life and your perspectives? Many people claim that books have changed their lives. For you, what was the book that you fully read and understood and noticed that it had an effect on your life? What book made you want to change for the better? What book made you realize the meaning of life? What book changed you as a whole?
Answer: I don't think there is a master narrative that told me how and why to live. However, books seem to help me on my way wherever I go.
For instance, Rebbeca by Daphne DuMaurier made me love the classics. Sula by Toni Morrison made me appreciate my mother. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen made me understand my father. A love for the Harry Potter series gave me something in common with my sister. My husband initiated our first conversation with me at a cafe because I was reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, and he had enjoyed the book previously.
However, if you want a book that will change your life without any outside factors, Siddhartha is a good one. Herman Hesse also wrote a book called Demian that I think is pretty good as well. If you read both, I think they're bound to change your life.

Question: How to write a synopsis about the book Life of Pi? Can some please help me write a synopsis about the book Life of Pi. By this I mean like a bibliography. I'm not supposed to give away the plot, but at the same time I'm supposed to make the reader interested. Can someone please help me.
Thanks,
Answer: I don't think you mean bibliography. A bibliography is a list of resources used in the book.
A synopsis shouldn't be too hard for Life of Pi. Have you read the one that's on the back? that'll give you a clue as to where to start. Introduce Pi Patel and say something about him that will get people interested in his character. Then tell a little bit about the beginning stages of the book, but leave the reader hanging for what happens.
Some key questions to answer in a synopsis
What is this story about?
Who are the main characters?
What do these characters want?
Why do they want it?
What stands in their way of getting it?

Question: How is The Catcher in the Rye an influential and life changing book? I need to write a page long response on a book that has had the most influence on my life and why.
Im not sure what to do, but The Catcher in the Rye is my favorite book and it did actuallly have a big impact on me and i really understood it. But i dont know how exactly to write how it has influenced my life.
So how is it influential and life changing? (perhaps in your opinion)
PLEASE HELPPPP :D
Answer: Basically, Holden is at that awkward age and he is blaming everyone else. In my opinion, Holden and The Catcher in the Rye are about accepting change and responsibility. The book has influenced me by making me accept change and put up with it instead of being immature like Holden was. Holden calls everyone "phonies" and just runs away from his problems. Seeing him be so immature (as many teens are) reminds me that I must not do as he did. Don't run away from your problems, confront them. You cannot run away from your problems forever, they will come back and be an issue sooner or later, so deal with them in the present to get ahead.
Being just a teenager myself, I am at that awkward age and have learned those things that I hope to apply to my life. <3 I hope this helps : )
Question: How to spread my new free life planning book? I have made my life planning workbook available for free online.
Now I want to spread it far and wide, to as many people as possible.
How do I spread the word about the book?
Book title:
What Do You Want To Do With Your Life?
Free download:
http://www.whatdoyouwanttodowithyourlife.com
Answer: Dear Hans,
"How do I spread the word about the book?"
Well, golly - maybe you just did. But I'll tell you the truth, Hans; I'm not so sure anyone CAN "plan a life." The best laid plans (of mice and men) "Gang aft agley", as Bobbie Burns told us.
Planning a life, I think, is not only impossible, but, in addition, trying to do so is a sure-fire recipe for frustration.
Question: What are the major political people in the book Life of Pi? What are the major political "players" in the book Life of Pi by Yann Martel?
Answer: I didn't remember that. The book was primarily based on Pi and his experiences. Half the time he was cut off of civilization. I would say the police? The ones that picked him up in the end?
I'm not sure I understand your question sorry!

Question: Can you please explain the revenge in the book Life of Pi? There isn't much revenge, but I want to tie that book with the movie Sweeney Todd and Hamlet.
Can you think of ANY possible (even if it's a little stupid) revenge in the book Life of Pi?
Answer: ***SPOILERS***
Well, remember at the end. Piscine killed the cook because the cook killed his mother. That is the key piece of revenge in the novel.
Question: Is there a book that helps you day by day see a different perspective of life? a book that offers a new perspective on life: a book with daily ways to see various sides of life. such as examples as to show ou what you may be missing out on.
i don't mean anything illegal.
Answer: The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis gives you the perspective of human life as it's seen by the "spiritual" world. The book is a sequence of letters from one demon to a lesser demon, teaching the lesser demon how to influence human life, how to tempt humans, how to exploit human desires and how to lead humans astray. It's really interesting thinking of your life from the perspective of an outside force, attempting to influence you.
There's also a book called This Book Will Change Your Life and it's just day to day tasks that will, apparently, change your life. It's basically a journal, but with a purpose. Some of the tasks are easy: decide where in the world you want to visit before you die - and some are hard: give away an object that you really love - and some are just strange: kill an ant today to assuage your human instinct of destruction. I like it as a book to keep in the bathroom to amuse my guests, but I think if you did each task every day for a year, you would definitely experience life in a different way.
Question: What should I do? I reserved 2 tickets for 'Life As We Know It' because I thought it was based on a book? I thought Life As We Know It was based on the book Life As We Knew It. I realized it wasn't after I reserved 2 seats for my son and I to see. I know he is interested in Science Fiction, like I, but he is not willing to watch dramas, like I also.
Answer: If it's already paid for, just give the tickets to someone who would like to watch it. I doubt you can return it.

Question: What happens when you play Book of Life and then your opponent plays Call of the haunted? Let's say you play book of life and select summoned skull from your opponent's graveyard to remove. Then your opponent uses call of the haunted to revive summoned skull. Will the player who activates book of life still summon a zombie monster.
Answer: Well, because a chain was made, Summoned Skull will come onto the field first
Then Book of Moon's ability will kick in, but since Summoned Skull was removed from the graveyard to play, Book of Moon has no legal target for removing from the game.
You still Special Summon the monster from your graveyard, but you just don't remove from play the Summoned Skull.
And Call of the Haunted becomes Limited on the new ban list.

Question: Is there a difference between a 3rd edition and 7th edition book (its a wellness way of life book)? Ok so I have the wellness way of life book in third edition and I really dont want to have to buy the 7th edition but I will if there is a major difference in between the books if you could answer quickly it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Answer: There probably aren't huge differences, but the 7th edition ( if it's the most current edition) undoubtably has updates, and new information, and may even counter dict some of the information in the 3rd edition. If this is for your own personal use, probably safe to stay with the old one, but if this is a book you need for a class? Your better off getting the new one.
Try looking on half.com ( www.half.com) I always search there for used testbooks for college ( but they have other books there as well)

I wonderful short book that took my mind off all the bull sh it I'm going through in my life right now. I just want to know what book would be good to read that is similar to this one, also short. And if you name a book give a description, please and thank you.
Answer: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Great book! very poetic style. Story about a spiritual journey carried out by a young boy. Read up on it online if you want before you buy it. But it is similar to the Alchemist. Hope you enjoy it! It helped me take my mind off everyday stress.

Question: How long should my mac book battery life be? I only got my mac book 2 months ago. I used it last night it was at 82% and after 2 and a half hours it was down to 18%.. I used it the whole 2 1/2 hours.. Im just wondering if this is normal, I feel like its just dying to quick. How long is your mac book/ laptops battery life???
Answer: No that's pretty normal. It depends on what you're doing, too - if you're watching a DVD, for example, it will go faster.
FYI, it's healthy for the battery to use it up (almost completely) and re-charge once in a while. As opposed to keeping it plugged in all the time.
