Extraordinary Medical Expenses
This is where the child(ren) has unusual physical, psychiatric, dental or similar extraordinary medical expenses. This should be broken down into a monthly figure.
Question: What is the average pay for a teacher at a child care center? I work as a teacher's aide at a child care center, and was just offered a position as a teacher, I'm just wondering what I should expect for pay?
Answer: Why don't you just ask your employer? Then you'll know exactly how much you'll make. It's your salary. You have a right to know. If you ask, they'll tell you.
Question: How do I open my own child care? In the next couple years, I think I'd like to open my own child care facility in my home. Do i need a diploma in anything or a certificate? What would be the most children i would be allowed to care for? Any helpful information would be appreciated.
Answer: The regulations are set by your local government you should contact your local social services department for pertinent Laws
Certificates and diplomas could help but ae not necessary
Question: How much of a Xmas bonus do you give your child care provider? My 18 month old son is in daycare 2-3 days a week from 9am to 4pm, so I pay between $50-$75 per week for child care. I just want to make sure I give the right amount of a bonus. Last year I gave her $100 and EVERYONE told me that was too much? But if I lower the bonus this year will it look bad? I really like her and she is great with my son! Should I just give what I did last year? It really makes no differance to me I was just wondering what the average bonus is?
Should I buy her something this year? Like I gift basket? Spa stuff?
Answer: I think $100 is a generous bonus and I certainly wouldn't give less just because other people are tighter with their money. Your day care provider cares for your most valuable possession and deserves to be treated with kindness and generosity. Since you like her so well, I think it's more than reasonable to give generously- if you feel like giving more than last year that would be ok too, but last years amount is certainly respectable. Good for you that you have such a giving spirit to those who matter.
Question: At what income point is Child Care credit better than pre tax $5000 savings? For open enrollment I have to decide between a $5000 maximum pretax deduction for dependent care or taking the child care credit which I understand to be between 20-30% of expenses depending on income. At 20% I do better with the pretax savings, but at 30% the credit is a better deal. How do I determine the percentage credit for my particular income level? Is there a chart I can refer to?
Answer: You can go to the IRS website and find the tables. I performed the calculation a few years ago and surprisingly enough, both options came very close to the same result. If I remember correctly, the credit might be better if you have more than one child in daycare.
Question: How can I get employment in the child care field before I complete my training? I am pursuing a career in the child care field and I wanted to know how I could get employment before I start my training.
Answer: Here are a few ideas
Headstart is always looking for volunteers...so I would try there first...be sure to tell them you are a child care education major and you may even give yourself an in once you have finished your schooling....they tend to hire and promote from within and depending how many units you have completed already they may even hire you as an aide...
2nd choice is try the local public preschools/daycare centers....I did some internship time at one and they were very helpful with lots of ideas and gave me access to all of there teacher idea books and most of the staff was very helpful in completing my college class work and very happy to have an extra set of hands to help out in the classes...
3rd....Try you own church ...they often have preschool or daycare programs during the weekdays and sunday school on sunday that help is always needed in
4th ....some private preschools also accept internships to assist in their programs but each of them has a different set of requirements and rules so you would have to check with them individually....
5th ...some community colleges and regular universitys also have preschool/daycare centers and they of course are always happy to have extra help...but you have to apply early in the semester or even before hand so be sure to check early on to be sure they have enough places for you to be in to get all of the time you will need....

Question: If I am seeking extraordinary medical expenses from my ex-husband? how many years can I go back and is there a maximum amount? I didn't keep him updated as to any of our children's health issues, so I am concerned that I can ask now for an amount that exceed $10,000.
Answer: You can ask for anything you want, and fries with that. If you want to know if the court will order him to pay whatever you ask, the answer is no.
Question: Do "extraordinary medical expenses", when used in determining child support, apply only to the ...? child(ren) of the ex-wife and husband?
Or do the courts take into account any extraordinary medical expenses concerning the health of children born to new relationships/marriages of the divorced couple?
Thank you.
Wow, I hope you're not insulting me, Miss x.
I am asking a question....you have NO idea why. Am I doing a research project, or perhaps a survey? Or perhaps I'm asking for someone who is at work, and doesn't have time to ask.
Point is, I gave NO personal info about myself.
The question, simply, is: are ALL children from all relationships between 2 divorced people considered in the "extraordinary medical expenses" rule?
Answer: Both - when calculating the income that you can contribute to support the child they consider children not on the order (and extraordinary expenses - though less clear and needs to be fairly high), and then with the child in question anything over $500 is considered extraordinary to be divided by the parents by portion of their income.
Question: Child support calculation for NC regarding extraordinary expenses? Two years ago I took out a loan to help pay my daughter's medical expenses, as my ex-wife did not want to help. I did not want to go to court then but now with additional expenses coming, I want to use the legal system and the NC child support calculator to compel her to help. Can the loan repayments currently being made by me be calculated as the current "extraordinary expenses" for this child? Shared custody, equal time spent between parents.
Answer: If not that, it is under a rebuttable presumption.

Question: Filing Chapter 13, is there a better way? A client filed a Chapter 7 (for medical expenses) in 2002. He is under the CMI median and presumption does not arise however, he can not wait until 2010 to file another chapter 7 (again, for extraordinary medical expenses). Should he file a 13 and possibly convert to a 7 in 2010 or is there another course of action?
Answer: He should convert to a 7 in 2010.
Question: Can someone put these medical ethic directives in a simpler for for me to undeerstand and discuss? Directives
55. Catholic health care institutions offering care to persons in danger of death from illness, accident, advanced age, or similar condition should provide them with appropriate opportunities to prepare for death. Persons in danger of death should be provided with whatever information is necessary to help them understand their condition and have the opportunity to discuss their condition with their family members and care providers. They should also be offered the appropriate medical information that would make it possible to address the morally legitimate choices available to them. They should be provided the spiritual support as well as the opportunity to receive the sacraments in order to prepare well for death.
56. A person has a moral obligation to use ordinary or proportionate means of preserving his or her life. Proportionate means are those that in the judgment of the patient offer a reasonable hope of benefit and do not entail an excessive burden or impose excessive expense on the family or the community.40
57. A person may forgo extraordinary or disproportionate means of preserving life. Disproportionate means are those that in the patient's judgment do not offer a reasonable hope of benefit or entail an excessive burden, or impose excessive expense on the family or the community.41
58. There should be a presumption in favor of providing nutrition and hydration to all patients, including patients who require medically assisted nutrition and hydration, as long as this is of sufficient benefit to outweigh the burdens involved to the patient.
59. The free and informed judgment made by a competent adult patient concerning the use or withdrawal of life-sustaining procedures should always be respected and normally complied with, unless it is contrary to Catholic moral teaching.
60. Euthanasia is an action or omission that of itself or by intention causes death in order to alleviate suffering. Catholic health care institutions may never condone or participate in euthanasia or assisted suicide in any way. Dying patients who request euthanasia should receive loving care, psychological and spiritual support, and appropriate remedies for pain and other symptoms so that they can live with dignity until the time of natural death.42
61. Patients should be kept as free of pain as possible so that they may die comfortably and with dignity, and in the place where they wish to die. Since a person has the right to prepare for his or her death while fully conscious, he or she should not be deprived of consciousness without a compelling reason. Medicines capable of alleviating or suppressing pain may be given to a dying person, even if this therapy may indirectly shorten the person's life so long as the intent is not to hasten death. Patients experiencing suffering that cannot be alleviated should be helped to appreciate the Christian understanding of redemptive suffering.
62. The determination of death should be made by the physician or competent medical authority in accordance with responsible and commonly accepted scientific criteria.
63. Catholic health care institutions should encourage and provide the means whereby those who wish to do so may arrange for the donation of their organs and bodily tissue, for ethically legitimate purposes, so that they may be used for donation and research after death.
64. Such organs should not be removed until it has been medically determined that the patient has died. In order to prevent any conflict of interest, the physician who determines death should not be a member of the transplant team.
65. use of tissue or organs from an infant may be permitted after death has been determined and with the informed consent of the parents or guardians.
66. Catholic health care institutions should not make use of human tissue obtained by direct abortions even for research and therapeutic purposes
Answer: I think it's just too long of a question/answer for people to really have the time or desire to tackle it.
One thing that could help you is if you remove the ones that are more obvious and you do understand, and also break them down into many questions. Maybe only include one or two, but at most three of the directives in each question.
Some of these seem almost silly, and things the medical community has already established (so no need for a directive). LIke #62 - that is the law. #63 - Any hospital receiving federal money is mandated by law to offer the option of organ donation to families. # 64 - That is the law, on both counts. # 65 That is standard practice at all hospitals. # 66 - Abortions generally happen at clinics, and they don't have tissue banks or sell to tissue banks. No transplant center would use tissue from an aborted fetus because it simply is not an option. It would be like the directives saying: No circus clown may perform open heart surgery with their elephants in the room.
Question: Should I also get any settlement or the Working Compensation Insurance would only pay for my medical bills? On my work-related injury that happened to my head and face, my case still open. Yet the hospital already sent me the bills during the treatment in E/R. Fortunately the Working Comp insurance adjuster said that the insurance will pay the bills, so I need to forward my med.bills to theirs.
The adjuster even recommends me go to the nearest Medical Doctors from the lists he faxed me (total of 10 pages of the local family practices near me).
However, though, my big concern is, would it be possible that I also can get some cash settlement.....at least to cover all of the extraordinary expenses related to my work injury? How long does it take [to get the final settlement] without a lawyer? Is the final settlement negotiable or just as it is?
Answer: You can always ask your adjuster for a possible settlement. However if your still treating for your injury and you settle your claim you wave all your current medicals. Some states allow you to settle your claim without waving future medical some states allow you to settle the claim and you lose your medicals. You really need to ask your adjuster what happens if you where to settle, what would you lose and what could you gain.
Settlements are always negotiable and you can settle w/o a lawyer. Once a settlement is done it takes about 30 days to get it approved.
Question: In Alberta Canada What Can i ask for in Section 7? I know what i can put in for the school fees and before and after school care

I have one for her now and I never miss the deposit)
Extraordinary expenses for Extracurricular Activities ....How much can I ask for??? she does 4 swimming lessons a year, one summer camp, girl guides and figure skating.
Also can i ask for him to help with the gas to meet him becuase it costs me about $100 a month and he put through a parenting application that he is to get her every month, but sometimes i can not as the price of gas is just so high??
ANYTHING ELSE I CAN ASK FOR???
Section 7 is under the Federal Child Support guidelines...sorry :P
Answer: You can ask for what you want...they base child support payments in Canada on a percentage of what he makes. They will take his tax returns into account when deciding how much he makes. The Family Maintenance Enforcement Program (FMEP) has a calculation chart. You put in how much he makes, and how many children, and it will tell you how much you will get.
Question: Is Obama a hypocrite? Barack Obama was interviewed by ABC and one of his first response was that he wouldn't stay within his own plan for his family.
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/HealthCar…
"President Obama struggled to explain today whether his health care reform proposals would force normal Americans to make sacrifices that wealthier, more powerful people — like the president himself — wouldn’t face.
The probing questions came from two skeptical neurologists during ABC News’ special on health care reform, “Questions for the President: Prescription for America,” anchored from the White House by Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson.
Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist and researcher at the New York University Langone Medical Center, said that elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it’s not provided by insurance.
Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn’t seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he’s proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.
The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if “it’s my family member, if it’s my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.["]
If Universal Health Care is not good enough for his own family, then it’s not good enough for America. Obama should be working to boost the private sector to encourage more care providers, less red tape and expense, and better care for everyone.
What say you Yahoo Community!
For those that believe Universal Health Care is a good thing go to MASSACHUSETTS from the Boston Globe

MASSACHUSETTS HAS been lauded for its healthcare reform, but the program is a FAILURE.
Please dont pass that myth that there are 47 million people without insurance. Here is the true story:

Obama Supporters Do Not care.
All they care about is Free Stuff, Hand-Outs and Bigger Welfare Checks.
Question: Did you get your emergency H1N1 vaccine? Or do you think twice about so-called health 'emergencies? BP June 10, 2010
A joint report into the handling of the H1N1 outbreak has found that some scientists who advised governments to stockpile drugs, had previously been on the payroll of big drug companies.
The report, published in the British Medical Journal, found World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on the use of medicine to treat the virus were prepared by experts who had received consulting fees from the top two manufacturers of the drugs - Roche and GlaxoSmithKline.
The WHO's decision to name the flu a "pandemic" is also coming under scrutiny from European investigators, and stands accused of exaggerating the dangers of the H1N1 outbreak, which emerged in April last year.
Laboratory tests have confirmed more than 18,000 deaths from H1N1 infection, according to WHO figures, but the virus has turned out to be less deadly than feared.
Also, symptoms suffered by most people infected with the virus have been mild.
'Exaggerated scare story'
A report by the Council of Europe, also released on Friday, accused the WHO of a lack of transparency over the pandemic announcement - saying it wasted huge sums of money and provoked "unjustified fears
"The WHO changed the definition of the most serious pandemic for one that would include the possibility of a tremendous amount of deaths to one that wouldn't include that severity ... and this is extraordinary.
"[The] announcement caused the world press to go into hysteria and tell people that we're going to see a plague like the 1918 one.
"There was never any scientific evidence to justify this exaggerated scare story.
"They frightened the world witless about this and caused this vast expense and disruption of health services," he said
The WHO initially urged rapid development of treatments and vaccines, fearing the virus had the potential to kill millions.
As a result wealthy countries spent billions on medicines which many believe are now unnecessary.
Across Europe, governments are now trying to resell their stockpiles of swine flu vaccine.

Have followed articles regarding the CDC ever since the Tuskegee Syphillis Study which I did not learn about until college. They are of course, associated with the WHO. I sometimes wonder if they are to be trusted, even to this day.I
Answer: No, I never got the vaccine. I thought the media coverage on it was far overblown, especially when Obama thought it imperative to start saying in his speeches that people need to wash their hands frequently. As if people would only do it if he said they needed to.
