Question: Can I talk with the Judge in a State Hearing in California? Hi, I have a friend how needs to talk with the Judge in her State Hearing on Tuesday about getting protective services for her adult son who has the mind of a 4 yrs old. She has to have him with her all the time to protect him from getting hurt or into something dangerous. But, IHSS for 6 months now has refused her. So, she asked for a State Hearing in hopes to be able to talk with the Judge. IS that possible?

Answer: That's what the hearing is for. She'll have the opportunity to document and present evidence of her need for the IHSS hours she's requesting. Question: do Secretary of State appeal hearing officers check validity of AA meeting attendance? If you are going before the Sec. Of State appeal Hearing officer, you turn in a lot of information before then. Is the validity of your AA meeting attendance checked thoroughly?

Question: How should I prepare for a public hearing against my former state job for sexual harassment? I was sexually assaulted for years by my supervisor. I had an on going case with Human Rights over the matter and almost a year and a half later I got my letter that said that found probable cause to move on to public hearing. The state agency tried to fight it but they were denied. I go in a few weeks and I am very scared and stressed. How can I prepare my self for whats to come?

Answer: Lunacy and other matters regarding issues of the mind are handled by the Chancery Courts in Mississippi. There are several ways to do it and all of them require that you get an attorney. Normally, the person who is alleged to be incompetent will be required to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. It would be under a rare circumstance that someone is "held" against their will but could happen if they are a threat to society and/or their own well being. In any case, an attorney will be necessary.

Question: what can i expect at a NY state custody hearing? i have filed for custody to get my 2 oldest kids back...i live in PA & they live in NY...what can i expect to be asked or to happen at the hearing?

Answer: why would you want your children after xxx amount of time. if you have any dirty laudry look for the possibilty of it being aired out can you provide proof that you can care for the children and provide childcare if applicable.

Question: how much does a state hearing cost? if your case has been denied by your case worker through welfare, how much does a state hearing cost if anything to take them to court for a denied case..

Answer: You can file an appeal with the welfare department and they would reconsider, if you go to court you would encounter a filing fee and not knowing where you are it would be impossible to tell you the amount but you can call your local courthouse and they will be able to tell you.~

Answer: PR is a US holding, not a state.

Question: What if the defendant's home is out of the state where the hearing has been scheduled? Who is responsible for the fees incurred with transportation of the witnesses and other people who may be participating in the hearing?

Answer: Without knowing what state you are in, I am going to answer that it is the prosecution who is responsible. However, if you are convicted, some states may add the court costs (including transportation of out of state witnesses) to any fines levied during sentencing.

Question: How long after my hearing date (date of denial) can the State of Florida deny my unemployment claims? I filed unemployment and the state of Florida denied it. It went to a hearing and the referee denied my claim as well due to my actions not being in the best interest of the company. I heard that there is only a certain amount of time that the state can deny my claims before I am legally entitled to the weekly payout. Does anyone know if that is true and, if so, what is the time-frame? Thanks!

Answer: Based on what you wrote they found you were terminated on the grounds of "misconduct" therefore relinquishing your ability to collect unemployment. There is no such thing as a certain time frame to reapply. The only way you would be eligible is if you secure another job and if you are laid-off or its a constructive discharge. You would have to work a total of 26 weeks regardless if it has been through 20 different jobs within an 18 month period, but beware. All former employer(s) pay a percentage into your U.I. benefit. If U.I. determines the former employee was terminated with cause the employer is off the hook and doesn't have to pay anything. U.I. has already determined you were not eligible for the benefit due to "misconduct." Therefore, lets say you worked at this place for 12 weeks. You cannot use or include this 12 week work period to meet the total 26 week requirement to collect since it has already been determined they had grounds to terminate your employment.

Question: Yucatan State - Why am I hearing fireworks this last week? For the last week or so I keep hearing fireworks from my home in Mexico's Yucatan State. Sporadically day and night. I live at the beach so is there an occasion or is it just because people are on vacation?

Answer: " Cohetes" are very common all over mexico. they are used at every little festival at every little church on their saint day and for all kinds or reasons, and often for no reason at all. Many people just like to shoot them off whenever. It scares the dogs to death, esp. dogs who have moved from the U.S. to Mexico.

Answer: Bring proof of good insurance that was in effect at the time of the ticket and a really good excuse for speeding!

Answer: As long as they want. The person is incarcerated so there is no hurry.

Question: Can either of the non-custodial parents move the child out of state before a custody hearing is done? About two weeks ago, my fiance and i split up... My only concern right now is that she may try to move up north with our three year old son, in which i play a very active role in his life... I've always taken care of both of them and there is no domestic or child abuse ever during the course of our five year relationship... So my question is under florida law is she able to legally move the child up north before a custody hearing is done or even filed?

Question: Are you tired of hearing about a two state solution between Israel and Palestinians? Answer: Maybe the only solution for the Israelis, would be "THE FINAL SOLUTION". A systematic extermination of all the Palestinians seems to be the only option left. Question: I keep hearing that California is a tax deed state............? I keep hearing that California is a tax deed state. What the hell does that mean and does it participate in tax liens too. And if not, then why do some foreclosure websites list homes in California under the title of tax liens as an option to purchase? How does this process of tax deeds work?

Answer: California does not sell tax lien certificates. If a person fails to pay their property taxes, after the delinquency is five years old, the county tax collector offers the property at public auction where it is sold to the highest bidder who gets a deed from the tax collector. Local property taxes take priority over all other debts so if there is a mortgage, it gets wiped out. Very few pieces of property make it this far.

Question: what do I do if I can not make my devorce hearing date because I am out of state working? I am working out of town and my wife filed for a devorce. I signed the paperwork and sent a letter to the court stating I wanted to attend the hearing. The court sent me a hearing date that I can not attend because I am still out of town. What do I do to get that date moved out so I can attend. Will a letter to the court help me get a new date ?

Answer: I am not able to under stand why you people do not engage lawyer's to attend your cases. Legal proceedings are not child's play and one get expertise after too much hard work and devoting time. My reply to your question is just engage a lawyer and he would seek adjournment on that day explaining reasons of your absence on that day. Obviously court will adjourn the matter for that day.

Question: I keep hearing about how California is an awful state, can anyone list the reasons why? I read an article about how California forced Carl's Jr. restaurants to remove a burger because it had too many carcinogens in it, most likely because it was huge. It was the Double Six Dollar Burger. I keep hearing people say California is a weird and awful state to live in. It sounds like the government likes to ridiculously control your life there and tax the hell out of you. However, I don't know the details, can anyone list the reasons why California is awful to live in? Please be specific.

Question: Is there free hearing devices for the hearing impaired? And which state? I'm almost deaf. I use two hearing aids. My husband is hard of hearing. He will not consider any devices b/c we can't afford luxury items. Is there an organization who helps people with hearing impairments? We live in No. California.

Also, ask you doctor for help with this. Hearing aids are not considered luxury items and may be covered by insurance.
