Statewide computer system that manages all child support cases in the State of Ohio.

Question: child support: Anyone ever 'catch up' with the absent parent? How did your tactic work? Absent parent in my case is getting 'under-the-table jobs and moving around through different states. Child support enforcement can't catch up to him. What I have: a court order and a current location (not address) and a cell phone number (non-trackable). Police aren't cooperating, the system doesn't work without a tracking device, like a tax-paying job or car payment, credit cards, etc. I do have current communication and 1500 miles between. I send him pictures of his child. I'm low on finances to travel.

Answer: I don't know where you live but in Florida when there is a child support order that hasn't been paid, the offenders drivers license is suspended. Even if it looks on paper like they don't have a job, their license is taken and they are then arrested if they are caught driving. My neighbor married a man who was behind in his payments. There is an order that his wages be garnished for the max when he gets a job. He got a job with a friend of mine but he was so far behind that they suspend his license anyway and he got fired because the job required driving. Find out the laws in the state your ex resides in. They may be able to help you more than the state you are living in. Good Luck.
