Temporary Order Temporary Restraining Order TRO

A pretrial order, i.e., interlocutory order, compelling a party to do something, or prohibiting him from certain activities. Upon motion, courts may issue temporary orders at any time from the initial filing of a case to time of trial. Temporary restraining orders (TROs) are issued to preserve marital assets, such as restricting borrowing and spending. They also are used to restrain parties, usually the husband, from returning to the marital home (see Vacate; Motion to Vacate the Marital Home) or harassing the spouse.

Question: Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on Permanent Record? Please I need an answer from a professional lawyer. My boyfriend who lives in the District of Columbia received a temporary restraining order (TRO) from his crazy ex-girlfriend. He has not been to the hearing yet, but all she has is false accusations, so we are not worried about that part. What we are worried about is will this show up on a security clearance and will this show up and/or remain on a permanent record? Thank you so much for your help.

Answer: It shouldn't go on the record, unless it's made permanent.
