Question: i am facing foreclosure, and they are offering me to modify through a forbearance modification.?.?
what's in it for the broker in a forbearance modification?
Answer: Okay. So, what's the question?
Is it a good idea? Maybe. It definitely keeps foreclosure off your credit rating.
What it means is that they forgive you for not making those payments, without waiving any of the amount you owe. If you're three months behind, they basically put you where you were before you missed them, add in the interest, and start from there.
So... is the house worth it? Can you make the payments now? Is it enough to solve your problem that you don't have to catch up? I dunno.
Question: Approximately how much does a lender pay to 3rd party loan modification co. for successful modified loans? What is the standard fee charged to the lender by a 3rd party loan modification company? If the 3rd party loan modification company does not charge the consumer then they must get paid by the lender...so approximately how much do they receive for their services or for each successful loan modified?
Answer: i totally agree with the previous answer. these neanderthals are the same creeps who sold the bad loans in the first place now they are out peddling "help" to people they already screwed over by either giving them a loan in the first place when in all rights and honesty they didn't deserve one or by giving them a loan with a higher profit margin for them (ie pick-a-pays). i also work in the call center for a large mortgage company and we HATE these idiots. we on purpose are nasty to them cuz they are just making the whole problem worse. i personally tell the rep that calls that i won't talk to them and that i don't care if we have an authorization on file, THEY are not the borrower who is financially held responsible and therefore THEY can't make any decisions on their behalf. so i'd say these 3rd party mod companies are just as bad as the original brokers that started this whole mess to begin with.

Question: Is it illegal to modify a photocopy of a UK passport? My friend and I were talking about a way in which one could get into an 18-certificate film. This method was to scan a legitimate passport onto a computer, then using photoshop to modify the date of birth. This photoshopped version of the passport could then be printed and passed as a legitimate photocopy.
Aside from the obvious laws against fraud and underage viewing of an 18-certificate film, are there any laws in the UK that directly forbid the passport modification aspect of this?
Note: My friend and I are NOT repeat NOT planning to attempt this, we were just wondering about the legal implications.
Answer: Anybody who is sad and desperate enough to go to all that trouble to see a film needs help.

Question: What is your opinion of human genetic modification in respect to removing damaging defects? I'm interested to know peoples' opinions of the possibility of genetic modification of fertilised human eggs to remove genetic defects and such. (this is assuming that one day we have the technology to modify it and know the outcome)
Would you have issues with this if it became common practice?
My opinion (please don't see this as answering my own question, this is merely an opinion) is that since mankind is no longer truly effected by natural selection, it should be our responsibility to effectively move the species forward - removing hereditary diseases and conditions from the genome and such.
Your thoughts?
Answer: I would not have any problems with genetic modification to cure disease.
However, your assumption that humans are not affected by natural selection is incorrect. Millions of people each year die from preventable diseases, protection against which are some of the most common inherited diseases known to science. Haemoglobin S, which causes sickle cell disease, is an inherited disease, as is thalassaemia. Both of these conditions, and others, while being deadly n their most severe forms, protect the populations against Malaria. If you eliminate these inherited traits, millions more people will die than you could ever save by by genetic manipulation.
Consider that the other common inherited traits may have beneficial side affects for carriers of the condition.
Selective pressure to evolve is still quite strong, particularly in countries with limited access to modern medicine, which unfortunately is most of the world.
Modern, life-saving medicine is quite recent - about 100 years old. That's not very long in evolutionary terms.

Question: What are the benefits of using rewards as a form of behavior modification? Early behavioral psychologists demonstrated it is easier to modify behavior when the expected behavior is rewarded. For example, you compliment your child for doing well in school, or you get coupons for your next purchase because you spent so much at the grocery store. What are the benefits of using rewards as a form of behavior modification? Also what are some negative affects that can occur if the wrong behaviors are rewarded?
Answer: The area of concern is the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic rewards. Extrinsic rewards are things like chocolate, stickers, extra pocketmoney etc. Intrinsic rewards are things like increased self-esteem, a sense of self-reliance, pride, things like that - intangible things that make up a person's character.
It is important to also encourage kids to want to do things because they feel good about themselves afterwards, not just because they are bribed or rewarded for doing them. Part of being an adult - a large part - is learning to do things we don't want to do, in order to be able to have things that we do want to have. But we also have to learn that sometimes there is no financial payoff for being a good person.
So long as you emphasise intrinsic rewards as well, and don't rely entirely upon extrinsic rewards, it's fine. Good luck!
Question: I have a question about getting a loan modification? I need to modify my mortgage the monthly payment is 2,615 at nine and a quarter it is interest only i taught i would of sold it before the interest went up but it didn't so here is am i lost my job and got a cash one for 400 a week so i can not keep up with the payments they are saying i don't make enough money to modify i would like to know if anyone one could give me advice on how much more i would need to get a modification. Please no rude people just need some advice. Thanks so much.
Answer: Hi June,
With respect to some of the other answers here that are encouraging you to let your bank foreclose, I'd like to suggest that there is a better way. But of course you already know that because you're asking about loan modification.
If you've gone to your bank on your own, as it seems that you have, and they've turned you down you're certainly not alone.
A lot of banks, even though they are desperate to avoid foreclosures because the economy is so bad, still haven't exactly seen the light yet. Meaning, they don't just want to give you a loan modification without making you work for it.
Now this may not be exactly what you want here, but if you have someone on your side who does this all the time, day in and day out, and knows how to make the banks pay some serious attention, you can really increase your chances of being successful.
As with many things where you're dealing with lenders or banks, they're not going to take you seriously unless you have some legal expertise behind you.
There are a couple of resources that I suggest you take a look at:
http://ezinearticles.com/?Loan-Modificat…
and
http://www.squidoo.com/loanmodification1…
Both of these will show you a little bit about how a good lawyer can approach the bank and dramatically increase your chances of having success.
Understand and that I am certainly not an attorney, and this is not legal advice, but I do know that it's a heck of a lot easier to have someone like this in your corner than to trying go it alone.
Especially when you're talking about something as important as saving your home, this isn't something that I would necessarily try a do-it-yourself quickfix on.
Just my 2 cents, but I'd seriously consider it if I were you.
Hope this helps.
Question: Is it legal for a finance company to modify half a home loan and put the other in collection? I have a first and second loan with the same finance company, and the company just agreed to modify the loan on my home but I received papers in the mail were they have sold the other half of the loan to a collection company, and I already agreed to the modification and authorized the payments to come automatically out my account. The collection company want a payment in the same time frame. Is this legal
Answer: Even though you got the 2 loans with the same finance company they probably sold the mortgages to two different companies. The one company has elected to modify their loan but obviously the other decided to turn their loan over to collection. They are not required to do the same thing as the other lender.
