Confession Of Judgment
A written document by a debtor saying that if they do not pay the debt, they agree to the entry of a judgment against them.
Question: Can i add an "answer and confession of judgment and stay agreement" into my bankruptcy? a creditor took my husband to court on a card bill we can't pay and to keep from going in front of the judge he did an "Answer and confession of judgment and stay agreement" to get it paid off. now we are getting ready to declare bankruptcy and honestly can't afford this 260 dollar bill we've been paying every month (it's killing us! we just are sinking deeper and deeper each month from it! especially since I've had two major surgeries in last couple months and can't work so we only have one income) can we add what is left of this agreement into our bankruptcy (we already found out we can declare chapter 7). thanks in advance for any help!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP:)
Answer: You should be able to include this in your bankruptcy.
Question: IMPORTANT question about Statute of Limitations and a signed Confession of Judgment.? Question....I apparently signed a confession of judgment back in 2001 for a debt to a collection agency. I hoenstly don't remember signing it which is either here nor there but it is my signature. :( Now.....even though I signed that and the statute of limitations has expired (NV), can the new collection agency still renew the judgement? She has threatened me on two occasions so far that she was going to do a transfer of judgment to the new state I live in (VA). PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks
Answer: The statute of limitations started on the day you signed the confession of judgment not the date it went into default, if the statutes have ran after you signed then the person is trying to psych you into paying it, if they have not expired then yes they can pursue you in any state.~
Question: Should I sign a stipulation of settlement? I am presently settling with a company for an outstanding credit card debt. They filed a suit in civil court but have yet to serve me so we are settling out of court. They sent me a stipulation of settlement which 1) does NOT state the name of the original creditor (Bank of America) and 2) says that the defendant (me) acknowledges receipt of a copy of the summons and complaint and waives all jurisdictional defenses. It also has a CONFESSION OF JUDGMENT attached. I can't afford a lawyer - is there anyone out there who can advise whether I should sign this?
Answer: Hi,
I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate. I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:
http://dwarfurl.com/b2bb0d
Question: I had an offer to settle a debt but it sounds suspicious? They gave me two documents. A settlement agreement offer and then a confession of judgement. They both have to be notarized and they said that when I pay the amount that is in the offer that the debt will be paid in full. They also said they want me to sign a confession of judgment so they can hold that at their office in case I do not pay. My thing is if I pay why do they still need the confession to hold on to. Is this standard stuff there doing or are they trying to play me for a fool.
Answer: I am so glad you questioned this.....
DO NOT SIGN ANY DOCUMENT!!!!! Especially a confession of judgment.
DO NOT ADMIT to owing them a dime! The second you do, they will immediately turn around and sue you in court, garnish your wages, and get the entire amount. I've seen this happen! They now have a signed document in their hands to show the judge. Very big mistake!
I'm going to bet that in this nice settlement offer, they are not offering to delete this from your credit report once it's paid, right? Another major mistake on your part.
How much is this debt for, and how old is it? This is a slick trick that they use when the debt is beyond the Statute of Limitations, and you just guaranteed they are going to collect!
Please get some advice from someone with experience dealing with collection agents before you proceed.
Think about this! You are offering to pay them back their debt. Why are they making you go through a bunch of legal hoops to do it? They should be glad about it, and helping you out.
Making you sign and notarize a bunch of legal papers? That's crazy talk!
Question: How do Christians believe in Judgment Day (being judged by God) while having a general and private...? A general and private confession? From the churches my family forced me to go to, I've seen that most of them have a general and private confession, a way of asking God to forgive them of their sins. Afterward's the priest/pastor says that God remembers them no more. So if this is the case, why do a lot of Christians say that God will judge you?
Answer: As a Christian, I have only attended church within one denomination that believes in confessing your sins to the priest. None of the pastors I know would ever presume to know God's mind well enough to proclaim that God forgets our sins. Actaully, the Bible tells us clearly that man judges the action, God the heart.
That said, I believe we will all be judged. Not just for our actions, but for the reasons we took those actions, for the condition of our hearts, how we loved or refused to love others. Those are things that man cannot see, no matter what position he holds within his congregation.
I believe only God can judge us. Darn good thing, too, or I am sure someone would have put me down a long time ago!
So, while at least one denomination believes in confessing your sins to a human, most don't. Most believe that you need to go before God in prayer, confess your sins (I don't think He's looking for an itemized list; I hope not because I'm sure I can't remember all of them), but a heartfelt apology for our disobedience and selfishness, and a sincere effort to do better, with His help.
While this isn't coming from a preacher or Bible scholar, it's coming from a sinner, and one who won't ever claim to be perfect in this lifetime, so I have lots of practice telling God, "Oops! Screwed up again!" He knows it anyway, and like a good Father, He's letting me learn the hard way. He'll deal with me when He's ready. It's just my job to be sure I am ready!

Question: Christian confession. How has the church, or specific Christians hurt and wronged you? We Christians confess that we often get it wrong. That we don't follow our teacher. That we turn away and instead of offering love, hope, and healing, offer judgment, slander, gossip, and other sins.
Please, tell us what we have done wrong, so that we may confess to God the sins which we have committed against you, repent, and come to you not with any agenda, not to convert, or to change, but simply with the air cleared, and human relations restored.
Laptop-- They wronged you badly, they minimized the truth, power, and weight of the crisis you were having. They took control away from you and gave it to some so-called sin or problem that they thought you had.
I am sorry, and I hope that they too have come to realize and to seek forgiveness.
Journey -- To be so grossly abused on the day of the death of your child. I don't even think that saying, "I am so sorry" is worth anything here. Words cannot express the depth of horror that their behavior towards you that day brings. I cannot imagine what it must be like to lose a child and I hope that you find some sense of peace even though you will always miss and grieve your child.
Answer: I was told that my youngest son died as a punishment for my sins....by a pastor and my family. I lost my son, my faith, my family in one day.NOTHING can ever make it right or clear the air. I truly cannot stand xtianity and will devote my life to it's ruin.
It isn't that xtians mess up....all humans do...it is that they are judgmental, arrogant, ignorant hypocrites.
Question: Jesus Confession, I AM Not Omnipotent? 1. Jesus does not know of the Day of Judgment:
Matt 24:36 But of that day and hour no man know, not the angels which are in heaven, nor the son, but only the father.
2. Jesus does not have unlimited access to God's knowledge:
Mark 5: 25-32 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed. Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, Who touched my clothes? But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.
3. Jesus himself acknowledges that the Father is greater than himself and how he does not have the ability to access his father's resources:
Jon 14:28 My father is greater than I.
4. The following verses further prove how Jesus is unable to tap into all the powers of God:
Luke 6:12 One day Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God.
Hebrews 5:7 During Jesus days on earth, he offered prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him?
Matt 27:46 My God My God why hast thou forsaken me? Furthermore, if Jesus were God than why does he not say in this verse, Myself, Myself, why hast I forsaken Myself? Would not this be complete nonsense?
Answer: This is easy. He was not the son of God, but a Prophet. He was preaching of the power of God, but the words were changed to his father instead of his master.
Question: Are you insulted by Paula's denial last week/confession this week regarding drug addiction? Just 2 weeks ago Paula swore on Niteline that she had never done drugs in her life, didn't take pain killers for her chronic neck pain problem. She said the pain was unbearable, but she took nothing for it.
The very same week, she shook that very same neck around wildly on camera as she choreographed a routine for Idol.
This week we learn that at the time she gave that interview, she had already given a contradictory interview, confessing to an addiction, to be published in next months Ladies Home Journal.
I'm not making any judgment about her personal problem, but am I the only insulted that she went out of her way to lie, when she knew this article was only a couple of weeks away, just to grab a few more headlines for herself?
Is it true that any publicity is good publicity? Will this help her image and sell a few thousand more units of tacky jewelry on QVC?
178- As I said, I'm passing not judgment on her personal life. I just just find that my intelligence is being insulted and my threshold for bs has been grossly overestimated. When she scheduled and gave the Niteline interview, the LHJ article had already gone to print. She went ahead and scheduled an interview (no one asked, she had to request the Niteline forum) to dredge up and deny last years rumors just get people talking about her. There was a time when both she and Niteline would have had to defend their chicanery. Would you be ok with friends, family or co-workers lying to your face shamelessly?
Amanda- You really think it's ok to lie, cheat, and scheme to dupe people as long it gets you ahead? And even if you do it your own life, are you really so numb that you can be completely aware of others doing it and yet not even respect your own awareness enough to call bullshit when you see it? She could have gotten the same amount of publicity by highlighting a charity or important cause.
Answer: NO
Question: Do you feel that criminals put the thought of God, and His judgment out of their minds, when committing crimes Maybe there should be more billboards put up around the cities and towns , warning the criminally minded ones that GOD does NOT approve of their activity, and that He is WATCHING them with crystal clear vision, as only GOD can do. Does anyone think that could contribute to less crime out there? How about a list of The Ten Commandments, with emphasis on "THOU SHALL NOT STEAL" and "THOU SHALL NOT KILL"? Maybe they can put "Criminals:" at the top of the billboard. It may work! A guilty conscience could lead to confession. After all, with a guilty conscience, you are being convicted by God's Holy Spirit.
Just trying to get people to think, is all.
Gregory S.; We are all sinners. We all fall short of God's grace. We all have done evil in this world. I don't think that just because a person believes in God, he will be a good person. Sometimes, the devil traps us, and gets into our minds, and the next thing we know, we are in trouble.
Answer: What we see is just a reaction to society's real criminal: Government officials, civil servants, judges, bankers, church leaders, etc.

Question: How can I keep my mouth shut about my secrets? I always feel the need to confess EVERYTHING. Is it my OCD? Could it be my OCD or the fact that people would always DEMAND an answer for my personal business, & out of threat & intimidation, I feel OBLIGATED to tell?
I can't even keep my own secrets. I can't even surprise anyone because of the SUDDEN urge to "confess". If I accidentally broke a vase @ a friend's house, I'd confess & admit that I did it, & people would call me stupid for it. Is confession a good thing? I feel the need to be honest about EVERYTHING.
& my brother always DEMANDS an answer for my personal business. He asked me what I spend my money on & how much money I have in the bank. & I feel submissive & feel anxiety, & I feel like I'm "obligated" to tell him, rather than assertively telling him, "That's none of your business." I fear what he might do next. & whether I tell him or not, he would go back & tell my mom any & EVERYTHING I tell him. I'm 24, & he's 34. But he can't even tell me what he ate for dinner last night. Either he ignores me, tells a lie about it, or yells @ me, curses me out, & makes a threat to call the cops.
My family is unusual & insane. They flip out over anything.
But anyway, with my anxiety, people say it impairs my judgment.
Answer: It is not your OCD. You completely surround yourself with the wrong people. You need therapy. I've told you this before. You need to learn boundaries and you need to learn about loving yourelf and self esteem. I have anxiety and take medication for it and I don't let others in my life. It took a long time for me to set "boundaries" but now people respect them and know not to "ask" certain things because I just won't answer them because I'm not obligated to. As far as this "boyfriend", it sounds like he isn't too good for you either. When you suffer from disesases like you do you need to surround yourself with positive people who will give your REAL support and not put your down. I do agree that your family is like a lot of family who have someone who suffers from "mental illness" and they are cruel, but the diseases you have are treatable and you CAN live a perfectly normal life if everyone else would just butt out and let you get yourself together. You need to believe in yourself, set boundaries and stick to them, love yourself each and every day and start believeing in yourself. You need to find a way to surround yourself with people who will support you instead of tearing you down, you will never get better around people who try to destroy you. Sometimes the ones we love can hurt us the most and they don't truly mean it because they don't understand the disease.
Peace & Love :)

Question: As a christian what stops you from sinning.? I mean, since you can go to the church and make a confession then the priest will forgive your sins and it is guaranteed. also Jesus has sacrificed himself for our sins, so there is no thing to worry about in the day of judgment. so what stops you from sinning
Answer: The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work 100 percent of the time?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
Love and blessings

Question: Question for Christians Please. Serious answers.? I have been reading the bible, and I came across something that seemed to contradict what my friends, or others believe. I was wondering if you could give me your views.
Jesus said in the bible that he will cast our sins as far as east is from the west(meaning they will disapear forever).
The bible also says that Love does not hold a list of wrongs. Meaning that God doesn't hold a list of wrongs.
The bible also says that God will make us pure again when we ask forgiveness. Our sins will be forgotten.
So my question is:
People always talk about judgement day as if you are standing before God, and he's going to tell you all that you did wrong. Or you are going to have to confess all that you did wrong. But wouldn't this contradict what the bible says? We are all guilty, but when we ask forgiveness God makes our sins disapear. He doesn't have list of all the things we did wrong.... therefore we already repented and God has already washed our sins away. Why do people say that we will have to confess our sins all over again when we meet God? The bible never talks about judgment day like this, it seems to talk about it like a quick judgment. God picks out the faithful and brings them up to heaven.... it never mentions it like a whole court-room, confession type thing.
Do you think that these people who talk about judgment day, just haven't read the bible thuroughly? Or am I missing something?
Can I have some opinions please? Thank you very much!
@boo2bg-thank you for your answer! I'm really glad somebody else saw that too! =)
@BrieAnna-lol, your just like me than! Maybe growing up whenever we heard the word "judgement" our first instinct was to think of a courtroom, and we one day started to believe our own imaginations. =)
@Frank-thank you. I fully agree with you. Many people start questioning their belief, but sometimes you just need to sit down, read the bible, and pray. =)
Answer: Some people talk about the bible as if they know, but in all reality don't. You're absolutely right. The bible talks about a quick judgement. A simple faithful vs. unfaithful sort of thing. It's said that as long as they accept God into their life and in some religions, accept Jesus as their personal savior, then all should be fine. THAT is the judgement. That's what I've come to believe and am taught.
Question: premarial sex in the catholic church? So there is this girl in my school who went to confession and confessed to the priest that she had sex with her boyfriend more than once...and the priests exact words were "you are going to hell"! Even though you can say this is one persons (priests) reaction to this confession but this priest represents the teaching and the ways of the catholic church...murders can be forgiven...molesters can be forgiven...and they are not to be considered "bad" people they are considered to be people with a sickness or problem. these people have a "excuse"....but a person who has sex is considered a person without morals and has bad judgment. because to want to have sex or do it is not immoral or bad is the person you are doing it with loves you and respects you...in the eyes of the church people who have premarital sex have no excuse....what is your opinion on this...compare and discuss!
Answer: Having sex when you're young isn't a great idea but most people end up doing it. You usually don't realize it's better to wait until you are older. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal since it was with her boyfriend and as long as it was consensual and no one got 'hurt' then it's 'forgivable' in every sense. That priest sounds like he was out of line and I find it hard to believe he actually said that. Maybe he was trying 'tough love' on her and trying to scare her into not doing it again. Not exactly the best approach (in my opinion) but some priests are tougher than others. IF I believed in hell, I would disagree that that act alone would send her there!
Question: if i am still a sinner afterbeingBornAgainbornOfGod'sSpirit, whyDo I have tobe bornagainAND if I am? Is 1 JOHN 1:8, The confession of the saved in Christ or the realism they who say they have fellowship with God and walk in darkness, and not admitting it? If being born again is being born with eternal life taking the place of sins nature in me, then how am i still a sinner? Is it an excuse for bad behavior? My conviction is peolpe don't walk in God's kind of love, almost constantly, and instead of doing so they resort to 1Jn1:8 to validate themselves, and yes it is my judgment, without sentence. Idon't believe that 1 Jn1:8, and ten is the confession of the new creation. And i smell catholicism protecting the ritual of mass. If any man is in Christ He is the workmanship of God, created in righteousness and true holiness, Ephesians 2: 19, 4:24. Yes because we are in these imperfect bodies we ar eapt to sin but 1 Jn is not the basis for having the confession that clearly speaks against the rule of God which is Galatians 6:15-16, having 1 Timothy 1:5 as its confession. Anyone who has seen the beauty of the Lord, knows he is a sinner preborn again, becasue Jesus came to saves us from our sinfulness and create in Him one new man out of both Jew and Gentile, and out of the abundance of my heart upon God's work in me I say so. Iam not looking to my flesh to depict what God has done in me, to live is Christ because of Colossians 1:27, it is Christ in me the hope of glory, and im not going to believe an other gospel which hold the truth of God in unrighteousness. So i challenge you, are you a sinner post born againand if so you do not believe the truth, but making a doctrine out of one or two scriptures. I know what you do; you will use 1 Timothy 1: 15 but use it in error, than you will accuse Paul using Romans seven to make your case. Are Christians fleshly (carnal sold under sin) Then you think after Paul states clearly in Romans six, that he still needed to be saved from the body of death, right.
Answer: To be born again you try to lead the life as Christ would. We are human and fail. It is as simple as A B C to be saved if you truely belive. A Admit...Admit that you are a sinner. B Belive... Belive that Jesus Christ came died and arose to say your soul, so that you may have ever lasting life. C Confess...Confess with your mouth that you are a sinner and want the blood of Jesus to wash you clean. Then it is a daily battle to try to live and do WJWD...:)
Question: Protestant Christians, why do you think us Catholics don't give you the Lord's supper? why do you think us Catholics don't give you the Lord's supper?
A few reasons.
1. You must be baptized in the Lord's Church.
2. You must make your first actual confession; the way the Lord gave confession to us Catholics.
3. You must make your first communion after confession and must know what you are receiving.
4. Can not complain about it being flesh in blood; because it's real food and drink. If you didn't know; Jesus means bread in hebrew.
5. this comes from the First Letter of St. Paul to Corinthians Chapter 11.
The Lord's Supper: "In giving this instruction, I do not praise the fact that your meetings are doing more harm than good. First of all, I hear that when you meet at a church there are divisions among you and to a degree I believe it; there have to be factions among you in order that [also] those who are approved among you may become known. When you meet in one place, then, it is not to eat the Lord's supper, for in eating, each one goes ahead with his own supper, and one goes hungry while another gets drunk. Do you not have houses in which you can eat and drink? Or do you show contempt for the church of God and make those who nothing feel ashamed? What can I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this matter I do not praise you." Tradition of the institution. "For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread, and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said,"This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of men." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthly will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many among you are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying. If under judgment; but since we are judged by [the] Lord, we are being disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world. Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that your meetings may not result in judgment. The other matters I shall set in order when I come."
Us Catholics is the body of Christ. We are his hands and feet. We have 3 mothers. 1. our earthly mother. 2. The Church is our mother. 3. Mary is our mother. The Pope is Christ on earth; that is what Vicar means. all who have been confirmed becomes disciples and apostles.
I like the parable about the sower. The word of God is the seed; but most of us is the rocky, thorny, or walking path ground that the seed falls on and sometimes grows but then quickly dies; but others are the good ground and accept the word of God and follow what God says. Sure we can move the rocks or dig up the thorns or side walk to make good ground; but it will take a while; but it's not impossible; because nothing is impossible with God. It will take hard work, time, love, and care to make all of us that good ground with the great top soil so the words of God have enough deepness to let the words sink in and take affect. That is how it will be for the Protestants that are coming home; just take small steps and later on you too will have the great ground so all of Gods words will grow and take affect on you and on all of us. The first covenant was and still is the Ten commandments; the new covenant is the Lord's supper and his blood that was shared for us and with us.
The people who are on the rocky and thorny ground and also on the side walks; won't understand the word of God; because once it hits the ground; either a bird or the evil one steals the message of God away from you or anyone; we must remove the side walk paths, the stones and thorns so everyone has a chance and their freedom back from the evil one so they hear the word of God and become one with God again. But to do this; we must not temptation overcome us or control us; we have the power to beat temptation; but we must all work together to beat Satan and that everyone can and will eat the Lord's supper with us Catholics and the ones who are catholic; but are on the same hard and bad ground as the protestants and non-believers. If the people on the bad ground don't understand one parable; then they can't see or understand the kingdom of God; because the one can understand the parable does see and understand the kingdom. We must fix this; so everyone can see and understand.
Answer: Obviously they do not want to partake of the great feast of our Lord. This Is very sad because the Bible says it is necessary to eat of the Lamb. If the Israelites had not eaten the Lamb at Passover they would have died and Jesus said that unless we eat His perfect sacrifice that we will die also. The disciples understood this perfectly if not completely at the Last Supper for Jesus had prepared them at Capernaum. St. Peter says to Jesus when He asked if they wanted to leave, "to whom else shall we go for you have the words of eternal life". Receive Him or face spiritual death. God bless!

Question: Please Advise Me? Help! If any of you read my last question it was about going to confession for the first time in 16 years. But, I am now officially terrified as the following has scared me witless. Idont even think I am worthy of being Catholic - please help!
The following is a partial list of mortal sins:
Missing Mass on a Sunday or a Holy Day of Obligation through your own fault .
Permitting your children to miss Mass on a Sunday or a Holy Day of Obligation.
Arriving at Mass after the priest finishes the Offertory .
Doing unnecessary manual work on Sunday.
Eating meat on Friday or other days of abstinence.
Violation of the laws of fasting.
Deliberate enjoyment of the sex passion outside of marriage -adultery, fornication, impure looks, touches, thoughts in your mind.
Willful religious ignorance- neglecting to learn the truths of God or neglecting to teach them to your children.
Quitting the Catholic Church or actively participating in the services of a man-made religion.
Superstition
Joining the Masons or the Communists after you knew it was wrong.
Perjury.
Neglecting the bodies or souls of your children.
Hatred.
Drunkenness.
The use of narcotics in a sinful manner.
Theft, fraud, damaging the property of another, not paying your just debts, wasting time, money, or property of your employer, depriving your family of needed money by gambling, drinking, or foolish spending.
Telling serious lies, seriously damaging another's reputation, serious rash judgment, revealing serious secrets.
Answer: Read what i wrote on your last post!!!!
There is nothing you can do that will make you worthy of God, yet He still takes you in... He loves you so much, all u gotta do is ask forgiveness and you are made right with Him, you are made righteouss again, and its nothing you can do, it everything He does.
so many think its what you dont do (dont drink, steal, kill, lie etc) that will get you into heaven...
others think that its what you DO do...(go to church, give to charity, do good to people, love people etc..)
but its not what you do or dont do, its what Jesus has already done. He paid the price for your sins, so all u gotta do is ask forgiveness and the bible promises that He will immediately forgive you and throw the sin away like it never happened. so why hold onto it, when the one that matters most, GOD, doesnt?!
if you try to do good and be good and think thats what makes you worthy, you are trying to get to God by your own self-righteousness, it wont work , and God actually hates it. YES you are meant to do the right thing, but thats not what makes you worthy. Confessing Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, believing in Him and giving your heart to Him, thats what makes you worthy, a personal relationship with God.
you have the wrong idea about God, and if the church u used to go to gave you that wrong idea, i suggest u find a church that knows the REAL God!
Fear is a sin... confess that right now, let go of it, and REJOICE that God rejoices in you! :-)
Question: Who knew? Help, help, help? I was going to revisit my old church, when I contacted them (the pastor) he acted like everything was fine. A memo later, I found out that everyone stopped going to services there because the pastor did something unspeakable, not too mention that it just would not be fair to mention it but it was a sin and it came to the attention of several of the members. Before, I knew there had been a schism in the community, I sent around this bundle of joy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GwdTg9l_…
And yes, as a matter of fact one of the sins is represented in the video.
Okay, so if that is not bad enough, I continued with a note towards the person who had accused the pastor of the sin, to try to calm the situation: bad judgment totally.
The Video,
Did you see the video clip? Were you able to picture someone you know in the video? Do you see the role that Satan plays in our lives once we give into temptation and temptation leads into sin?
The Devil
The devil is here to destroy us, our relationships, our own sense of self: the soul.
The Judgment
It is not our job to judge. It is our job to assist people towards repentance by letting them know if they have done some sin but G_d really calls us to repentance and reconciliation. If we did this on our own, the result is much more different than when G_d is in it.
The Lord, Almighty
This is an excellent time to move away thinking about what G_d's mindset is towards our sins. It is important to understand, to be merciful, to be able to move away enough to put the situation back in G_d's arms again. We take over, we judge, we want our justice served. But when we ourselves are before G_d, our sins are covered by the blood of Christ Jesus. He not only covers it, but He takes on our sins and cleanses us, His love transforms us and brings us back into a loved state. Not an angry state, not a you against us state, but a state where the soul, mind, body can be renewed into a new relationship with G_d. G_d not our sins become the true focus.
The Holy Spirit
Well, it has yet to come to fruition or has it. You can justify everything you do by biblical scripture except love. We never pull out the love of G_d. We will know them by their fruits Galatians 5:22-26
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
The Conclusion of the Matter
“Carry each others burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”- Galatians 6:2
But before all of this I posted a question that read, Do you think Pastors and other religious leaders should be held to ?
higher level of accountability if they fall into sin?
Well, now no one is talking to me at my old church.
Should I apologize now is the whole I dug to deep? I wanted to keep quiet but the man who accused him was hell bent on getting a confession out of the pastor in front of the whole church and now everyone is gossiping and it is just not kewl. It is definitely not in keeping with the fruits of the spirit, especially the whole provoking each other.
Is open confession the only way to solve this matter? Any thoughts? This just happened yesterday and the guy who accused him wrote a 16-page document listing Pastors offenses in a time-line so yes he has proof.
I just want quiet prayer right now.
Certainly not all churches are like this and I left the church because I moved 2 hours away to be closer to my job. I was already 1 hour away before I moved.
I totally agree that it is none of my business but out of my defense I totally had know knowledge that things were falling apart until the last memo reached me late last night, but I will be offering up an apology just the same.
I do not want to change religions at this time but thank you just the same, I was just going to visit them not stay. Besides, I feel like the situation could change for the positive just as long as G_d is in it. Who knows?
I thought I was close to them, the video is a skit so technically it was supposed to be a little dramatic, but as for talking with them, as friends we exchange bible verses, e-cards, and chitchat about peace and love, this was a schism that happened while I was pretty much on my way to a new church, but like I said, I will apologize, it is sad for me. I am writing the apology as we talk, I was just trying to help not sink the ship with slam-dunk sinball of badness.
Thanks JM, I appreciate that more than you know.
Prye, I just sent an apology email and it was a relief, I just tried to be sympathetic to the pastor and ask for forgiveness for my untimely email with the video. Hopefully, it will work itself out. Little is much when G_d's in it.
And thank you for your prayers!
Answer: So, just so you know, I watched the video, and found it rather touching, especially with the Lifehouse song.
With that said, if the accusations are true, and he has proof, then the pastor should be held accountable for his actions by the law, if the action is illegal. If not, then continue to try and inform your fellow church goers that Christianity is not about judgment. That's your Gods job. Christians are only supposed to support those who repent from their sins. If your pastor will admit to making a mistake, and repent (not publicly though, unless ever other church goer is willing to do the same), then let bygones be bygones. Try to get that across to your fellows.
Atheistically yours,
JM Gendron.
