Answer: Planning tools...specifically pictures...and lots of different ways to sort them. I am currently annoyed with theknot.com because if I want to look at reception pictures, I pretty much have to pick a color scheme....or go through ALL of them. They need tags, and cross-referenced indexing. Another thing that would be useful is a page with lots and lots of large thumbnails instead of one small picture at a time. That would save me time since I wouldn't have to click next to get through pictures I'm not interested in.

I have been to Ukraine a year ago and the economy was booming, so many new cars, Mercedes, Honda Accords and the like. And this was not in Kiev, this was in Cherkassy, about 300 Km South of Kiev. People seemed to be living almost as good a life as they live here in Canada. And I saw about 57% of the people on the street were men, and only 43% women ( I counted about 100 people and checked them down on a paper, just to make sure). If it is big money scam, how does it work and why does it continue to work if the scam is known? Also, why are there (that i know of) no USA mail order brides? Answer: Ok it looks likes everyone has touched on the financial part of this and I will go into detail in a different direction on this. The marriage agency, mail order bride thing from the Ukraine is a complete SCAM and I am totally serious about that. Actually one of the larger companies that does this is now or has been litigation in America recently. You will find also that the larger companies will have a Florida based address but if you would actually go to that office it would be empty with perhaps a receptionist working there. The companies are working out of Russia and Ukraine and the business is a dirty one. Here is how it works and how the girls are paid, but keep in mind there are different payment structures for this. The girls get paid 200 dollars a month just sit behind a computer and chat, these would be the top most beautiful model girls. The also will get paid 1 dollar for every letter that is opened and you pay for. Now the big money maker is chat the get paid between 12 to 20 cents a minute for chat and some girls will do whatever it takes to keep you on there, including going topless. In some payment methods, the website that is the one you sign up with gets half of the money you pay, then the other half goes to the girls agency and that is split between the local dating agency and the girl. When you come to visit them, well you find that the girls attitude will change quickly. They are required to go on meetings, in other words they can not say no as they must meet you. They do get paid for this from the fee that you pay for the meeting as well they get to go to a nice restaurant and perhaps the guy even buys them a gift. If the girl does not speak English or even sometimes she does, she will say she does not so when the guy shows up they will have to pay a translator. The fee is split between the girl and the translator and this is often another source of income for the girls. The job that I just described here in the Ukraine is very well paying one as one of my Ukrainian friends told me. As for why the girl may not be interested in you when you arrive, or seemed bored or disconnected. It is very common for these girls to have boyfriends and even married that are on the websites, so you will not see any romance, unless she is a prostitute then maybe and she will be looking at a way to scam more money from you, but that is whole other direction from what you have asked. So it is a complete scam, maybe in other countries around the world you will find girls are trying to get out of the countries but here in the Ukraine the girls are to close to there mothers for this and would never think of leaving them. Any guys who believe the girls online please do yourself a favor and know it is not true about these girls. The old saying if it seems to good to be true then probably is.

Answer: The comments made above are correct regarding poverty, but those looking for American husbands to escape poverty are few. We hear about them only because they play to American ideas of "it is all they want - a green card and money. The "poverty escape" for a visa and money was prevalent up until around 2002, when the US government cracked down on "easy visas". I can assure you that by the time a man and woman recieve a visa these days, they know if there is true love or not. That said... Women are no different in other countries than they are in the USA. They want love, respect, and a stable life. I can not speak to the Chinese, but I can speak to the Russian point of view (since I am married to one). There is quite a gap in the population of men vs. women, due to WWII, although it is growing smaller (one of the reasons Russians pay families to have children). Also, health there is poor, and the lifespan of a man is shorter than in the US. Because of the shortage of jobs, caused by the economy, men tend to not be able to support a family, and they often fall to drinking. It is also "acceptable" for a man to treat his woman like property. Women there look for an older man who they expect will be more stable in how they treat a woman, their jobs, and family life. No offense, but young men tend to drink and party, and are less interested in family life. American men (Western men in general) tend to pay a lot of attention on a woman, they pay attention on children, and they accept a woman that is divorced with children (this is not accepted in Russian culture so much). There are no US "mail order brides" because they have what these other women are looking for already. Complex question, complex answer.

Answer: We have a neighbor who just married a girl from the phillipeans. He wrote her, IMed her and called her for over a year before they met the first time. She did not come ot America for our country but because she loves him. They are now expecting their first child and they seem very happy. I am considering starting a business offering maid service to brides on the day of their wedding. The service would be customizable. I would wear a uniform, something classic and wait on the bride throughout the day. It may start off with breakfast in bed, helping her dress, painting her nails and helping with her hair and makeup. I have taken classes as a nail tech so I could offer these services. Answer: I think it's a cool idea, i like it. I'm a wedding planner and sometimes we can't pamper the bride this way. We are busy looking over the big picture of the day, flower delivery, making sure the decor is right, cake delivery etc, etc. Unfortunately not all bridesmaids pamper their bride this way.
