Question: When to put coffee grounds on my plants? I have been saving my coffee grounds and now have a 3 lb can full. Problem is, the landscapers came and put mulch around everything.
Is it too late to use the coffee grounds?
If not - what is the best way to apply them?
Answer: you can throw them right on top of the mulch, if you dont mind the look of it for a few days. after the first rain, or you watering it, the coffee grounds will work their way through the mulch and into the soil. its not the ideal way to apply them, but its just as effective.
Question: what's the difference between espresso and coffee grounds? is there much difference? I made cappuccino with coffee grounds and it tastes pretty good, but the coffee grounds ended up in my cappuccino. Are coffee grounds smaller than espresso grounds-is that why theys snuck through the filter?
Answer: Actually, TURKISH grind is the finest level of grind. It ends up as close to powdered coffee as a grinder gets. Authentic Turkish grind is not ground, but smashed with a Mortis and Pestle.
The DIFFERENCE in beans or grounds, of Coffee & Espresso are: Espresso is typically a darker roasted bean. It roasts longer / hotter and the bean itself has less caffeine as a result. The typical grind setting for espresso is finer than coffee. This could explain some grounds finding thier way through the filter.
Depending on the type of filter, various particulate can make it's way through, which usually settles in the bottom of the mug while drinking. You might want to check the way your filter is applied, to rule it out as the problem.
Have you ever tried Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee?

But yes, instant coffee would be excellent in a shake!
Question: what are the grounds for denying a green card for a person married with a US citizen, bona fide? I am married to a US citizen and we have two US citizen children. We have applied for the green card and the waiting has been so long so far. We have a lawyer, and all our paperwork looks good. I have just learned that a green card is not a right and that it can be denied. I want to know what are the grounds for this denial. Can it be discretionary?

Question: What are the grounds they are looking to give you a tourist visa? My mom and dad we’re already in the states in tacoma Washington for a year now. They were petitioned by my mom’s parents. I want to visit them but I was denied in my first interview and I am planning to take another one this December.
I have a job but I don’t have a savings in the bank. What will I do? What are the grounds they are looking to give you a tourist visa?
Answer: Sometimes it depends where you are from.
Show proof of a residence that you are not going to leave behind
Get an account at a bank
Get a local Credit Card
Get letters from family talking about the visit
You need proof that you will return to your country after the visit. A job is easliy left behind, but not a home, a child, accounts etc.
Question: Is using coffee grounds good or bad for house plants ? I throw coffee grounds away all the time. Someone told me to put them on my house plants as well as my outdoor plants. Is this true? and what is the benefits of doing so?
Answer: Coffee grounds are great for plants that thrive in acidic soil, such as gardenias, camellias and azaleas. They will help turn alkaline soil more acidic. Earthworms love them, and you can even use diluted coffee to water your plants. Ground coffee is high in nitrogen, making it a very good mulch for fast-growing vegetables. Many organic growers swear by coffee grounds as mulches for tomato plants, both for the nitrogen boost this heavy feeder appreciates and for coffee's ability to help suppress late blight. Coffee-ground mulch also can help reduce the ravages of slugs and snails.
If you need mass quantities of grounds, visit your local coffee shop to see if they will save them for you.
Question: what exactly does coffee grounds do to help plants? i get free grounds from starbucks, but how exactly do they help my plants?
Answer: It adds vitamins & minerals to the soil, keeps away slugs & snails, & (when mixed into the soil) is a good environment for earthworm activity.
It's good for acid-loving plants, like Roses, Azaleas & blueberries. I lightly sprinkle the grounds around the base of these plants to deter slugs, also. You can scratch it into the soil so it doesn't compact when it has accumulated. It also helps the soil retain moisture.
A lab test analysis showed that: "the grounds provide generous amounts of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and copper.
They also release nitrogen into the soil as they degrade."

Rose gardeners reported coffee grounds make their roses larger & more colorful. Adding it to compost piles increases nitrogen balance. Encircling plants with coffee grounds & eggshells makes a barrier to repel pests, & works as a slow release fertilizer. If you are into vermi-posting, feed a little bit to your worms

Since the grounds are acidic, when using around non-acid loving plants, mix a tablespoon of garden lime into a five pound bag before you dig them into your garden or just put the grounds on the compost pile. "In the garden, mix at a rate of five pounds per three square feet. For composting, mix at a ratio of five pounds per three cubic feet of yard." waste.http://www.walterreeves.com/tools_chemic…
"Worms like coffee grounds, so you may want to put a layer of coffee (grounds) on the bottom of your pile to attract worms."http://compost.css.cornell.edu/wo…
Good luck! Hope this helps.
Question: What happens in you roll up coffee grounds in paper and smoke it and inhale the smoke? It's coffee grounds. Are there any bad side effects? What would you be inhaling? Is it safe to burn and smoke coffee grounds? Do you do it?
Answer: I don't know about coffee grounds but, when we were teens, we used to take the tea out of tea bags , roll & smoke that! Tasted terrible & honestly, didn't do anything but make us have a headache! I wouldn't reccommend it!
Question: What does grounds tickets to a golf event alllow you to do? I got Grounds Tickets for the Barclays this weekend though work... I have never been to a PGA event before where does grounds tickets allow you to go?
Answer: They allow you to go anywhere on the grounds that is open to the public: restaurants, pathways, shops, demo centers. It's all like a big fair.
But the places you are not allowed to go to are the Clubhouse and onto the golf course itself. But tour events put fences up around the course itself, so you can go up to the fairway itself as far as the fence goes and watch.
Question: Is it okay to put coffee grounds in a garbage disposal? I have a reusable coffee filter and rinse it out after use in the sink. Is it ok just to dump the old coffee grounds into the garbage disposal?
Answer: yes, you can but coffe grinds do wonder for your ganden so dump them in a flower bed and watch what happens....
Question: Is it good to throw coffee grounds down the sink? I once worked in a large country house where I was told to throw the coffee grounds down the sink as it is good for the sink. I am not sure if this is true. Does anyone know as I don't want to block my own sink.
Answer: I was in the business for thirty two years and I have heard some strange things that people do with coffee grounds but telling someone to throw them down a sink is just plain stupid. It would clog up your drain and you would have a major problem. They are good for your garden or in a compose or in the trash. You can use fresh coffee grounds to clean your nose senses of smell before sniffing your next perfume. Of course the grounds should be in a pouch so you don't get them in your nose. I could go on and on but I think you know now that the guy was just giving you bad advice.
Question: What about using old unused coffee grounds as fertilizer for plants? I don't drink coffee and have a lot of unused coffee grounds from 3 years ago. Don't want to throw it out and would like to use it up. It's too old to brew coffee for guests; could have frozen it but forgot to.
Answer: Dear Loretta acid loving plants love coffee grinds. When you use it make sure you add Warm water to the plants. The grounds will seep into the soil & nourish the roots. If you're a tea drinker you can also throw the used tea bags in there too. This is what I do & trust me it works. Here's another idea if you know people who're coffee drinkers ask them to give U their used grounds OK
Question: Are used coffee grounds really good for roses? My father was a wonderful gardener & he used coffee grounds in his garden as part of his fertilizer; he had a beautiful garden. In my own rose garden I used coffee grounds & my roses were really lush. Now it's not working in the potted roses I have "inherited" with my rental house.
The roses were left unwatered in direct sunlight in the California sun until the blooms were dead. They haven't come back. Should I prune everything back now?
Answer: The short answer is "yes, coffee grounds *are* good for roses."
However, it's kind of like saying "Vitamin C is good for people." Well, yeah, it's true, but if all you ever ate was vitamin c . . . well . . . lets not even go there . . .
My point is that coffee grounds are slightly acidic and high in easily broken-down carbon to provide good organic material for your plants. All of this is good (roses like a slightly acid pH). But roses are heavy feeders. If, in addition to the coffee grounds, they fail to get enough Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium (along with assorted other materials in trace quantities, like Iron and Calcium and Magnesium and others), your plants are going to show all kinds of nutritional deficiencies, ranging from susceptibility to insects and diseases, to deformity and discoloration of leaves, to outright defoliation.
Get a good, well-rounded fertilizer for roses, apply according to the recommendations of the product (including frequency) and in two weeks you'll see results.
Keep in mind though that it's too late this year to fertilize, because winter is around the conrer. You don't want to push the plants into growth now, as they'll have tender shoots that will be killed by the frost. Wait until spring to fertilize and you will be rewarded (a good pruning after the first frost will also be good.)
Question: How would you describe used coffee grounds to someone who has never seen them before? Trying to describe a compound in a chem lab that resembled used coffee grounds once fiiltered, but i can't put the description into decent words. Help?
Answer: it looks like soil
Question: How often should i apply coffee grounds to my Gardenia? I heard that coffee grounds are good for Gardenias. My question is, how often should I apply them to my Gardenia potted plant?
Answer: As often as you would like to apply them. There is no limit and it won't hurt the plant. I often mix my coffee grounds with water and water it into my plants.
Question: What statements about yourslef so you accept on pragmatic grounds ? On the grounds of coherence ? On the grounds of Correspondence with reality?
Answer: Your question isnt really clear.
I am just me, thats all i can say.
Question: Have you had problems with your electronics after moving into an old home with no grounds? I've always looked at the grounds as protecting people from hot appliances when grounds fault but it seems a lot of people think the grounds are there to protect electronics...
Has anyone had issues with their electronics after moving into an old home with no grounds? I've lived in such a home before and never had an issue but I am preparing to move into a new one and am doing some new research.
Thanks!
Answer: Transmission electronics is greatly dependent on a good ground, such as HAM radio or other two way communications. The older cordless phones were notorious for poor reception if the ground was bad.
Today, the power supply feeding your computer is not as sensitive as your older HiFi equipment.
For safety sake, check your ground and install a GFIC near sinks.
Question: What are some uses for used coffee grounds? I have heard you can use them as fertilizer for some plants, but I don't know which plants benefit from them. I want all ideas on recycling coffee grounds, not just for plants.
Answer: Plants with lots of green foliage love coffee grounds as fertilizer. Even if you don't have plants to use them on you would be better off sprinkling them through your lawn instead of having them dumped in a land fill. You can also use them to repel ants and feed worms. You can dye furniture scratches, paper, or cloth. You can also use them for a deodorizer, just set them out in a problem area.
Question: What grounds is there that a parent to be could claim full custody of the child? Hi.
Can anyone help me?
I need to know some information on what grounds a parent can try and claim on getting full custody of there child.
I've looked all over the net but i can't find the right information.
Answer: Hello,
This is an extremely tricky area and falls within the remitt of social workers & courts to determine when & under what conditions a parent should be given full custody of a child.
However, having said that (the above) I shall try and answer this as best I can but I'm not expert by any means. My understanding is that under UK law a parent would get full custody of a child if it was shown, or proven that the other partner in a relationship was violent or had a history of violence towards the child or children from the relationship (even if the children were adopted).
**The court & or social worker/s would have to asses that the child or children would be a risk in some way, either physically (threat of violence or abuse in some other way), or that the domestic conditions were not suitable for children (poor housing), or were one parent could NOT afford on financial grounds to support the childs needs or well being i.e. afford to feed & cloth & school them etc.
**its a VERY complex subject area, fraute with red tape from the law and fraute with moral & ethical dilemmas.
NOT one of my best answers but I hope that might go some way towards helping your understanding?

Question: How can you remove built up coffee grounds from filter? I have a reusable filter on my coffee maker. Over time, the coffee grounds have worked there ways into almost all of the filter holes. Is there something I can soak it in to get rid of them?
Answer: I would suggest a baby bottle brush (specifically the nipple brush) if you have one, if not a pipe cleaner or toothbrush. or maybe soaking it in bleach? then rinsing it out very well with your sprayer head on your sink or a bathroom showerhead if you have one that has the diff. massager speeds so you can use the pressure.
