Suitability Study
In some states a Suitability Study is a separate report that is prepared for the court by the adoption caseworker, while in other states it is included as part of the post-placement report that the caseworker prepares for the court. The purpose of this study is to provide the court with a professional evaluation of whether the home of the adoptive parents is a suitable and nurturing place for this child to live and be cared for, or in other words, is this an adoption match that will be in the best interests of the child.
Question: Studying for a CIM qualification and suitability? I am contemplating a career change by moving into marketing, and want to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing through study. However, I am having trouble assessing my suitability for their qualification, and have already contacted the Institute but have not heard anything from them. I hold an Honours degree in a non business degree (Politics), and also have a Masters degree in Business where I studied export marketing and marketing management modules. Based on this, am I therefore eligible for the Diploma in Marketing?
Answer: Yes, usually one years study
Question: What's a better place to study in for university? The US or the UK?
Like the overall quality of education, the suitability of the environment for studying, etc. (I'm referring to the higher universities and their cities in both countries- like Yale, Oxford, Harvard....)
Thanx a lot!
Answer: academically the UK is better for overall quality of education and a degree from Oxford or Cambridge is recognised as a higher quality than Yale or Harvard etc.
As to the suitability of the environment, they all have excellent environments for studying, depending on your personal choices.
I prefer UK university campuses to American ones, but again this is a personal choice.
Question: What are Proticiency testing, interlaboratory comparison and collaborative study ? What are Proticiency testing, interlaboratory comparison and collaborative study?
Base on ISO/IEC Guide :
interlaboratory comparison may be use ,for example, to
(a) determine the performance of individual laboratories for specific tests
or measurements and to monitor laboratories continuing performance.
(b) identify problems in laboratories and initiate remedial actions which
may be related to, for example, individual staff performance or
calibration of instrumentation.
(c) establish the effectiveness and comparability of new test or
measurement methods and similarly to monitor established methods.
(d) provide additional confidence to laboratory clients.
(e) identify interlaboratory difference.
(f) determine the performance characteristics of a method - often
known as collaborative trials .
(g) assign valus to reference materials (RMs) and assws their suitability
for use in specific test or measurement procedures.
What are the different between these projects
Answer: To conduct a double blind study in a closed controlled environment.
Question: Are there any online resources where I can study medicine for free? Obviously I would not receive any qualifications but it would give me a better insight into the full list of subjects involved and allow me to assess my own suitability for this career. (I've always wanted to be a doctor)
Obviously I am talking about the academic side of things. I have already studied anatomy for two years and so am aware that there are certain aspects that cannot be investigated online!
Answer: to be a doctor at a point in university you would have to disect a dead human being, whether you want to be surgeon or not.
im not sure if you can do that from home
Question: What can I write for my personal statement for college? I need to write a personal statement for applying to a a college. I have been given these guidelines but i don't know what to write for each guideline:
1. How you feel you could contribute fully to the life of this Catholic community.
2. How your previous experience has demonstrated your suitability for St. Michael’s Sixth Form.
3. Why you think you will be able to make a success of your Sixth Form study here.
Answer: Well, you can write about your experiences in high school and how is has helped you become dedicated to the Catholic community. And then you can go on by answering the other 2 questions but still try to connect it. Maybe your personal statement could be how God helped you graduate. Just try to make it appealing but still make it true.
I wish I helped :)
Question: HELP!!! REFERENCE letter for EXCHANGE STUDY? I asked my lecturer to write a reference letter for me for my exchange study in a university, but he is too lazy to write it, so he asked me to write it for him. I have no prior experience on writing a reference letter. Don't even have a clue how to start writing it.
The letter needs to include applicant's suitability for the Exchange Program considering such things as organisational ability, adaptability/versatility, maturity and independence. Also give appraisal of the applicant's communication skills(written, verbal, comprehension and interpersonal skills)
Could anyone be so kind to write me a exchange letter or maybe provide me with a template or some good quotes? Any help is appreciated!

Question: Which statistical test should I use in excel? Here is the problem...? I am conducting a study into the suitability of nest sites for insect feeding birds. I have two columns in excel - one is the nest number and the second is the number of insects that have been brought back. How do I use excel to test whether I can deem a nest significantly 'good' in terms of number of insects brought back, or significantly 'bad'? Thanks
Answer: Unfortunately, M is quick to rattle off some canned test without much thought.
It's unlikely that you really care about tests of significance. Instead, think about what you really want to know. Aren't you really just interested in which get the most food? Well, you already know that. And if you want to know which 1/3 or which 1/2 are the best, you know that too.
Some of the things that statistics could do for you...
If those nests are a sample of nests that represent some larger population of similar nests, you can use your sample data to figure out an average amount of food you might expect in the larger population of nests, along with a margin of error. However, you don't seem to have a sample -- you seem to be interested in only those nests.
You could figure out which are so different from the average to be considered "odd," but you can probably do that as easily by eye. Besides, you'd have to say what level would constitute "odd" anyway (e.g., within 2 standard deviations of mean).
If there was something measurable about the nests themselves (the "nest number" isn't data, it's just a name) such as height, average daily sunlight, proximity to human habitats, etc, then you could find out to what degree that data is related to food supply.
A thing that is difficult for beginning statisticians to initially grasp is that the numbers themselves define nothing. YOU have to decide exactly what it is that you want to know, and YOU have to define things like "good" and "bad." (A key mistake is to gather data and then try to figure out something from it. You should have figured out what data you need before you bothered gathering it. hey -- everybody does it at least a couple of times.)
"Magic tests" don't exist. When you need help, you need to provide a good bit of information about your research, a good bit of detail about what you want to know, what kind of data you have and how much, and so on. For better info, more details.
Question: i want to learn (in detail) about about the different fabrication procedures, where do i look? i am a mechanical engineer involved in design of chassis for electronic equipment. i would like to study about the merits, demerits, suitability of the various fabrication processes used in the industry (in particular Milling and Pressure die casting).
please guide as to where i will find relevant pdfs and videos (unfortunately youtube is blocked in my office).
Answer: How big are your chassis? Pressure die casting is good for smaller parts and really high volume production parts. Milling could be done on any material and on any quantity. I would say your vendors would be the best source of information on which process to choose. It will come down to price, size and quantity.
Question: Are politics and English acceptable A-levels? Im planning on doing maths, futher maths, history, English language and politics for A-level next year, and would like to go to Oxford/ Cambridge or Dublin University to study history/ journalism. I heard on Yahoo that English and politics are, to Cambridge, of "limited suitability", but a friend got into Oxford to do history with Critical thinking, history, English language and politics (two of which are of "limited suitability"). Anybody have any ideas?
Answer: Well I'm currently taking maths, further maths, history, english literature and art for a-level (aren't our subjects similar!) and as far as I know they're all ok. I'm not aiming for Oxford or Cambridge though - even though I'm predicted straight A's at a-level, I only got 2 A*s at GCSE... - so I know it's probably very different for you. I would think the subjects you're planning on taking would be ok though. The only one I wouldn't be so sure about would be politics, but then again, its not a subject my school offers, and so not one I've ever really looked into.
If you're dead-set on getting into Oxford or Cambridge, I think the subjects they like best are maths, history, latin and chemistry (my friend is aiming for Cambridge and is taking those four. She was absolutely delighted when she was told by our caeers advisor that Cambridge loves those subjects) and then most traditional academic subjects. A contrast subject is sometimes good to have though - one of the reasons I took art - so politics could possibly be seen in that way? I'm not sure.
It might be best to discuss this with a teacher at school, or a careers advisor if you're school has one.
Anyway, good luck with picking your options, and good luck with the five a-levels! What with that and working, I'm barely clinging onto my social life!! xx
Edit: Sorry, I hadn't realised you were planning to take English Language. I agree with Sarah G - English Literature is considered a far better qualification. Don't let that put you off if you desperately want to take English Language, but seeing as you're aiming for Oxford/ Cambridge, I would definitely suggest you switch to English Literature. It's quite good at a-level actually, they do expect a LOT of personal reading though, and there's coursework as well as exams each year.
xx
Question: Building Conservation: Appropriate use of building materials.? I have had to do a study of a historical town and its old buildings around the town and on the high street.
Can someone please explain what the last part of this means:
Comment on the suitability of the buildings for their current function, in particular for buildings which are no longer used for their orginial function *Consideration will be made of the appropriateness of the use of materials in this section*
I dont understand the use of materials bit.
Answer: If you are altering the use of an historic building of character you would do well to follow the advice of SPAB the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. Simple errors could be made by using monochrome bricks or tinted mortar on a building with multicoloured stock bricks and lime mortar, by installing aluminium or UPVC framed windows beneath timber sashes or by putting artificial slates on the extension of a building roofed in natural slates. More commonly, blatant visual discord is caused by putting shiny plastic fascias above large display windows into ground floor shops - often based on standard national house-styles - with zero regard for the materials evident on the first and second floor facades. These classic errors should be restrained in conservation areas and close to listed buildings, but much damage preceded the designation of such areas and shopfitters and sign makers often intensify the errors incrementally. An internal mish-mash of materials can also look dreadful but is unlikely to cause as much protest and enforcement as external errors .
Question: Optometrist, Veterinarian or Pharmacist? These are the career options I am thinking about; which do you think is the best option in terms of suitability for my knowledge, statistics including growth of industry, salary etc. Any information regarding these career choices would be much appreciated. All courses for these options are about 4-6 years in Australia and New Zealand (where I'm planning to study).
My level of knowledge concerning these options...
Biology: Very Good
Chemistry: Very Good +
Physics: Reasonable +
Mathematics: Excellent
English: Excellent
Thanks!
Answer: You should go with whatever you like better. I would say a optometrist would probably make the most money though...and you have the option of opening your own practice. I know many people who have become pharmacists and hate it (working in pharmacies that is). Becoming a clinical pharmacist is an option though; you would help doctors in hospitals come to decisions about the right drugs for patients and not just sit around filling up bottles all day long. A vet would be cool because you could be around animals all day, however you are not going to become rich from this.
Question: Are the sentence correct of this article? it is urgent? Question: MPhil at TCD or MsC at Edinburgh? Greetings,
I have recently applied to the MPhil programme in Modern Irish History at Trinity College Dublin, as well as the MSc programme in Modern British and Irish History at the University of Edinburgh. I am having difficulty deciding which would be the better programme to attend and I ask you to submit your thoughts and/or opinions on the subject. I am still waiting to hear from both institutions so all this may eventually be of no concern, but I am still curious. If you decide to submit an answer, I just ask that you support your argument with appropriate reasons as to why I should consider one programme over the other (i.e. academic reputation of the schools, scope of the programmes, suitability of the degrees for continuation of study at the doctoral level, etc.) Any insight provided will be greatly appreciated.
Answer: i would kill for the opportunity to study at either schools. both are internationally acclaimed. trinity for being the oldest (and best) university in ireland and edinburgh for its consistent high ranking among best university worldwide. tough choice really.
but if we break it down to your chosen field of study, i would say trinity would have a slight edge. my field is engineering science so i'd choose edinburgh for me. it would be fun walking the campus where once adam smith (the noted economist) roamed.
you can't go wrong with either school. good luck.

Question: By resigning, has Sarah Palin effectively disenfranchised a large number of Alaskans who voted for her as Gov? They did not vote for Parnell...and from my study of Palin she won unexpectedly on a huge groundswell of popular support.
The people of Alaska wanted Palin as Governor, not her Deputy.
....and now they are saddled with a man whose policies and popularity have not been tested at the Polls.
Is this fair to them?
Do they have a right to feel angered and disappointed in her?
Did she she simply abandon them for the sake of her loftier ambitions of moving into Federal Politics?
Surely she is young enough that she could have seen out her term as Governor and tried for Federal election after she had kept her initial commitment to the people of Alaska?
Wouldn't this have been better evidence of her suitability for High Office...the willingness to honour her commitments?
Doesn't her sudden resignation speak volumes about her reliability?
Answer: It proves to me that she is not a women of conviction, substance, or integrity. She has just basically said ef you to the people of Alaska, I've got better things to do.
Question: help me in drawing class diagram for this course work? Case study: 1. DVD Rental Shop
Easy DVDs Rental Shop wants to acquire a system to support its operations specifically administration of the renting and returning of DVDs. Below is give a brief description of the desired features for this system.
To borrow a DVD from the shop, a customer must become a member of the shop. The shop has a stock of physical DVDs (represented by DVD Copy) and each DVD is grouped with all the other copies of the same tile (DVD Title) e.g. a particular shop might hold 5 copies (Copy Numbers are whole numbers ) of Harry Potter and the “Beautiful one are not yet born” (DVD Number 12). The shop only stores information about DVD titles (DVD Title) where they have (in stock or on loan) at least one copy (DVD Copy).
A record is kept of the (main) actors appearing in each DVD (Title) and of the Studio and Producer of each DVD (Title). It is assumed (for simplification) that each DVD comes from exactly 1 studio and each DVD has exactly 1 producer.
Each DVD is categorised both in type (e.g. Comedy, Musical, Thriller, Horror etc) and in its suitability for under 18’s which means that age restricted videos can be rented to customers under 18.
Each shop has a list of members who are the only people who are allowed to borrow DVDs.
When a member borrows a DVD, a Loan record is created saying who has borrowed which copy and on what basis (Loan Type) which determines how long they can keep the DVD before returning it without penalty. The Loan type could be short – 3 days or long 7 days.
The system store details about the members such as name and address.
Answer: Work out what classes you need.
DVD
Member
Studio
Producer
Actor
Store
etc.
Then work out what each class should hold.
After this, you should be able to work out the class diagram. For instance, a DVD would need a title, a list of Actors, Producer, etc.
The Store would need a list of DVDs and a list of Members.
Good luck with it.
Question: What dog is best for what peoples??? Hello friends i am to ask a question about suitability of dog to person varying by ethnic, career and marital aspirations?
What dog is correct for Indian male age 23 who live single a student in US but not yet married and study biochemical engineering?
I have met with german shepherds but they dislike me, my US friend say maybe because I look jewish???? chihuahua are too small and demanding and make me feel like a woman but many larger dogs do not show to me the respect that beast should show man by natural law! flabbergasting i know, especially for the marriage minded male!
What dog style would you recommend? my blood type is A positive and I am about 170cm and 65kilograms?
Answer: Very specific...
You might want to try a Jack Russell Terrier. They aren't as small as Chihuahuas, easy to train, and, yes, not very feminine. I think that would be the perfect match.
Question: Marijuana Has no medicinal uses? This is what gets me...Why does the wonderful government say that marijuana has no medicinal benefits but they put it in pill form and say its alright..not only do they say its alright but they say its safer to use.
Quotes from the DEA website
"# Medical marijuana already exists. It's called Marinol.
# A pharmaceutical product, Marinol, is widely available through prescription. It comes in the form of a pill and is also being studied by researchers for suitability via other delivery methods, such as an inhaler or patch. The active ingredient of Marinol is synthetic THC, which has been found to relieve the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy for cancer patients and to assist with loss of appetite with AIDS patients. (By the way, They are describing what thc does in REAL medicinal marijuana does not the man made pill)
# Unlike smoked marijuana--which contains more than 400 different chemicals, including most of the hazardous chemicals found in tobacco smoke-Marinol has been studied and approved by the medical community and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the nation's watchdog over unsafe and harmful food and drug products."
So basically the government is saying "Don't use that harmful plant..NO we don't approve of that take this, its the same thing but we make money off of it" So basically everything is bad if the FDA doesn't approve it.
Its not addictive any person who was strongly addicted to something knows that...it only makes you paranoid because of the fact that it is illegal and you are scared of the cops
Answer: I completely agree with you.
Skip recreational use for this argument, contrary to another poster this is not a case of wanting it both ways.
The problem is the hypocrasy between the fda and ama supporting even medicinal marijuana remaining illegal, yet putting their stamp of approval on a synthetic marijuana pill that they hold a patent to.
I have taken marinol. I know how much it costs. 1500$ for what is roughly equal to about 50$ of real marijuana. A bit funny, aint it??
What gets me, is the entire reason they say real marijuana is not medicine is because it is smoked. Do they not know that no doctor recommends their patient smoke it?? I was recommended to vaporize it or cook it in food, completely eliminating the problem with smoke.
I think its on the new DARE website (its not dare now, dont know what its called, but that group of anti marijuana people) it says marinol is the answer to medical marijuana. Yeah right. I have also seen gov information claim the reason no one is interested in marinol is because it doesnt produce a high. Completely untrue. It does NOT produce the same type of high real marijuana does, but it DOES produce narcotic effects that are like a marijuana high.
Its nothing but stupid politically BS that does nothing but line their pockets with money while exploiting those of us down here on the ground.
