Question: Are bank charges fair and reasonable? Is anyone else angry at bank charges and how unfair they are? Imagine, if 1 million people get charged £28 in one month...that's 28 million pounds that can't be spent in the high street...shocking eh?
Answer: How fair and reasonable do you think the banks are being by giving the public free banking services? We get bank accounts, cash cards, cheque books, access to customer service staff in branches and on the telephone. We don't pay a penny for any of these services.
So the bank has to make its money some way. Charges are one way of doing this.
One thing is for sure, if charges go then we can say goodbye to free banking. We'll be charged for day to day banking, every time we need a new debit card or cheque book, maybe even each time we use our debit card. The UK are one of the only countries that don't charge for banking.
If you run your account according to the terms and conditions of the bank then you will not incur any charges. If however you write a cheque when you do not have enough money, go overdrawn when not agreed etc then you are lending money without permission, so why shouldn't the bank charge you? I don't think bank charges are unfair, if you run your account sensibly then you will have no reason to be charged. If charges were lower or no charges were in place then people will be taking the p*ss out of the banks left, right and centre.
People need to look at the bigger picture, you enjoy free banking because of the charges banks make. Don't take for granted how much the bank provides for you at no cost whatsoever as that may soon be a thing of the past.
Question: Science fair Idea Reasonable enough? What changes occur in a microscopic water community over time?
I use a microscope to view the changes of bacteria in the water overtime and see which bacteria comes after another kind.
Do you think I can use it for a science fair?
Answer: Yes maybe, but I think you can make this a little better. For instance, collect water from several different sources: from puddles around your house, school, from a local pond or river and even tap water. Let's say you have five different places from which water has been collected. As long as you are clean, these samples will most likely have different organisms growing in each of the samples. Then you can make a grid such that you take a little of samples 1, 2, 3, and 4 and add them to small samples of number 5. Then you could see which samples have organisms that out compete the other! This could be done for each sample, samples 2, 3, 4, and 5 added to 1. 1, 3, 4, and 5 added to 2. 1, 2, 4, and 5 added to 3. 1, 2, 3, and 5 added to 4. Before you do any of the mixing, you could look through your microscope and make predictions, or hypotheses as to which samples would out compete the others. Then do the experiment and view the results!
I'm [email protected] so let me know if you decide to do this, I'd be curious to hear about how it goes!!
Question: survey has anyone complained to the LSO and if so was the result fair and reasonable?
Answer: What, the London Symphony Orchestra? Never!
Question: do you think declaring Australia to be a terra nullius was a fair and reasonable thing for the british to do?
Answer: It was the view then that you didn't own land unless you used it to produce. Cook thought Aborigines only lived on the coast where they were happy fishing and hunting but when Governor Philip arrived in 1788 he was very puzzled to find Aborigines inland from Botany Bay and Sydney Town. In the USA and Canada and Aotearoa/NZ, the British signed treaties (not that they kept them) but New Holland got caught in this particular period when land was viewed as 'property' that should be used to produce - so it was Terra Nullius as a result.
Question: How much is a reasonable price to replace a Dell Laptop Hard drive? My laptop's hard drive has failed and I do not have the means to replace it myself. If I take it to a local repair shop what is a fair and reasonable price to replace it?
Answer: Not very difficult at all to change a laptop hard drive - that is ten minute job. The big question is if you have the media (DVD, CD) to reinstall the operating system. That will take the most time plus installation of any third party software, updates, etc. You can get a new hard drive for around $50 and the labor should be somewhere around $100.
Question: What are reasonable quiet hours for apartment living in Chapel Hill, NC? I just moved into a place and got a very detailed letter from my next door neighbor- she requests that all quiet hours (I got the wall banged on for putting some books on my bookshelf at 1 in the morning) are from 9:30 at night until 9:30 in the morning. This does not feel fair or reasonable? Anyone have experience living in a duplex? Thanks!
Answer: she has a point. doing household chores that make noise is inconsiderate at one in the morning. in our town, there is a noise ordinance in effect from 10:30 p.m to 6 a.m. that,s when most people sleep. the same probably applies to an apartment or duplex. we had neighbors that would do carpentry at midnight. i asked them to not do that. i did have to call the police twice because they just didn,t seem to care.
Question: Where can I buy Jeffrey Court tile online with reasonable shipping rates to Florida? I am 2-3 sheets short of finishing the backsplash in my kitchen. My local tile distributor told me the shipping/freight would be in the neighborhood of $100-$150 for this small quantity because it is coming from California. Does anyone know where I can purchase this tile online (or by phone) and have it shipped at a fair and reasonable price? I am located in St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Specifically, I'm looking for the following (got this off of the box):
Jeffrey Court (brand)
1 ½” x 2” Mosaic
This is mesh backed and comes in sheets of 12” x 12“
Stanford Beige
Pacific Heights
I need asap! Please help!
Ebay was the first place that I looked. There were less than 5 auctions and none with the specific tile that I am looking for. I'm so frustrated.
Answer: Have you tried contacting Jeffrey Court directly ?
Otherwise, not being from the area myself I can only suggest contacting Tile America in Stamford CT.
They are also a JC stocking distriutor and may have what you're looking for.
Best of luck to you,
bellzie

Question: Fair-minded and reasonable Scottish football forum users, a question ? What would you expect my reaction to be, in regards to a derogatory post concerning the late Jock Stein ?
Feel free to refer to any answers on the topic I have posted in the past, they are not private.
Honest opinions, if you please ?
Who said that it did ? Exactly the kind of answer I would expect, from a man who asks other people to form his opinions for him. If you don't fancy the question, don't answer it. I answered several of yours without being rude. Please extend me the same courtesy.
Answer: I would expect you to react like most decent minded people, and dont respond to this filth. The question has been asked to recieve a response, i for one respond with a big Yawwwwwwwwwwwwn. Because that is all that filth merits.
