Question: Should I have a say in what school my daugher attends? Been divorced 10 years. Ex-wife not taking into consideration my thoughts/views of what school she should attend. Public versus Private. According to the marital settlement agreement, this should fall into a "major decision" and we both should agree upon this decision. What should I do? We have joint custody, with shared placement. 60/40 split of placement.

Answer: Yes you should have a say in your daughter's schooling. Especially if you are going to be the one forking out the money if you decide to send her to private school.

Answer: Call the Court Clerk or the Chambers of the assigned Judge. They will tell you how the Court would prefer to proceed. Do not wait until the hearing date...they don't like it when people waste the Court's time. It's more efficient for you to submit your settlement for approval...and they might want you to include language in the settlement agreement that formally withdraws the Order to Show Cause. Answer: You can buy the forms at any office supply store.Detailed instructions are included. It does not cost more for the name change. If there is no property to fight over, you dont have a problem. Once you have your papers filled out, file them at the Court House down town.

Answer: In the divorce papers submit that wife would like her name to be changed back. She needs to be written in the final divorce decree.

Question: What happens after I file for divorce in CA? She has already been served. now what? We are doing this uncontested, if she does not file a response and there is no marital settlement agreement, what will happen? Will the divorce be final after the six month period?

Answer: you'll get papers signed by a judge saying your marriage is over

Question: I have a question about support for College students by non custodial parent.? When my husband divorced in 2000, part of MSA (Marital Settlement Agreement) was that he was responsible for 1/2 of his daughter's reasonable college expenses. Of course we want to help her go to college, but don't want to be taken advantage of by his ex-wife. She has decided where the daughter will live, made all these other plans for the college years without any input from the father. If you have some solid advice to help us make sure we aren't paying too much (she has a 100% scholarship plus other graduation scholarships). We'd be most appreciative. the daughter is so intimidated by mom that she won't go against her in any way.

Answer: Ok, since most of the bill will be paid by scholarships then there should be little, if any, out of pocket expenses. Inform mom that you want an itemized billing of the total legit out of pocket expenses and you guys will send her a check for half of that amount as per agreement. Tell her to include the ttal bill including all an any scholarships and what they exactly pay for. Tell his daughter to write to you guys only if she runs into financial trouble and needs money and that you guys will deal with seperate from her mom. The scholarships will definitely help bring down college expenses and also rquest a current grade sheet to forsee any upcoming problems with the scholarships due to falling required grades. Question: Do it Yourself Divorce in Texas? Ok. I got a Do it Yourself Divorce kit and I have a few questions. First, do all of the spaces that I type in need to be in all caps, or only the names? Second, 6. Marital Settlement Agreement: Petitioner and Respondent ___________ have (copy attached) ___________ have not entered into a Marital Settlement Agreement. Answer: I believe you are supposed to CHECK one of those boxes....eg, put a check mark that you HAVE entered a settlement (copy attached).....meaning some typed signed agreement that shows who is getting waht assets..... OR--if you DONT have a sworn affadavit signed by your both about how you are divvying up your assets or your liabilities, then you put a CHECK MARK in that second blank. PS--if you are having this much trouble with this form, I really think you better get an attorney....

Question: during divorce in tn, can you ever sue and win with marital torts also?
