Answer: Slope intercept form is y=mx + b where b is your y value when x=0 (thus the y intercept).
We know that b=8 since at y=8, x=0 (this was given)
All we need to know is the slope m.
This can be found with the equation (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) No matter what the points look like.
Substituting:
(8-0)/(0-(-2))=8/2=4. So m =4.
The equation is thus y=4x+8

Answer: If all you have is the slope, you cannot find the intercept.
But if you have a point on the line and the slope, you can.
Let's say you have a slope of 2 and a point on the line on (1, 3).
You have m, x, and y. You can solve for b:
y = mx + b
3 = 2(1) + b
3 = 2 + b
1 = b
y = 2x + 1
So you need the slope and a point.

Answer: The intercept is where the straight line crosses the y-axis, so if you have the equation of the horizontal asymptote: y=b, you have the intercept "b". It's only slightly more complex for the oblique asymptote: y=mx+b. The intercept is "b".

define each line in terms of y ( or x) just be consistent.

then as the officer finds cover, a laser (the very high energy type the dod is developing in their R&D labs) is shot to intercept the bullets and break them into harmless pieces.

When someone sends you a txt with a pic attached it has a clickable "download" button next to it. I tried clicking it and it says "downloading". Then does nothing and goes back to saying "download". Answer: That is fascinating. I just got this phone too, and it always shows me the pics in the message thread right next to a text.
I just checked the message settings, and the only thing that has to do with "multimedia" messages is a default 20 multimedia (pictures, video, etc) per message thread (conversations with one person).
I have never exceeded this limit, so I do not know if goes to "download" after 20. Sounds to me like you have never seen the pics in the message texts.
This could also be a network issue. With every cell phone I've ever owned, if I was not in an area that had good service or a high enough service rating 3G (for example), then I could not get photos, videos, etc. until I was in a better service area. I would just get a "download" link on all these other phones.
I would test this, and see if it does this everywhere you are or whether it seems to be location specific.
Your phone should, by default, be showing the images IN the messaging app next to your texts.

Answer: I can help!
First, you want to put the equation in slope intercept form or y= mx + b. So, you want to get y on one side, and move the rest of the terms to the other side with the 0.
3y= -2x + 7 (subtract 2 from both sides and add 7 from both sides of the equation.
Because you want y by itself, and 3 is being multiplied by y to make 3y, you want to do the opposite of multiplication and divide both sides of the equation by 3. That will result in y being alone on one side of the equation, giving you the y= portion of y= mx + b.
now that we've divided both sides of the equation by 3, we should have: y = -2/3 x + 7/3.
It's good to know that parallel lines share the same slope.
So we know that the line will have a slope of -2/3.
We know that the y- intercept is 2.
So, we can form the equation in slope intercept form.
y= -2/3 x + 2. ( you can check it by graphing both lines, and they will be parallel.
Point slope form is y-y1 = m (x-x1)
m represents the slope, and we know it's -2/3. We have a y and x coordinate, so all we have to do is plug in the information.
y-2= -2/3(x-(-2)) we know that x - (-2) is x+2, so we change the equation to : y-2= -2/3 (x+2) This is the answer in slope intercept form.
For the original equation: y= -2/3x + 7/3, we know that the y intercept is 7/3, so when x is 0, y is 7/3. Therefore, y-7/3= -2/3 (x-0). This is the answer in point slope form for this equation.
