Discovery
The formal and informal exchange of information between sides in a case. Usually, you do not file discovery in the court. It is information for the parties to use as they prepare their cases. In divorce cases, Civil Rule 26.1 requires both parties to give full disclosure of financial information to each other.
Question: Discovery?? What discovery in the last 100 years has been benefical for people? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
Answer: penicillin, need I say more??
Question: discovery.? Attorney General: Would the Court like me to put a very brief statement on the
record about the discovery that was made today?
Judge: No.
Defense Attorney: No
Judge (to reporter): Would you like him to do that, Cathy?
Reporter: No.
Answer: Excellent.
Good one.
Question: What is a discovery in a juvenile court case and how long does a lawyer have to get it to another lawyer? From what I understand, a discovery is some kind of evidence against someone. I need to find out and find out if there is a limit on the time for it to be transfered from one lawyer to another.
Answer: Discovery is the process of exchanging evidence and information between the two sides. Not all of the information exchanged needs to be admissible as evidence, as long as it is relevant to the case.
The specific rules and timelines vary by state, and by the local rules for each court. Where there is any doubt, the judge can clarify when discovery needs to be completed.
Question: What discovery channel episode has a black hole ripping buildings up and the earth crumbling into it? What episode was this:
There was either a discovery channel or national geographic episode about the nano black goop that enveloped the earth and destroyed mankind and a cool black hole animation about if a black hole ever destroyed earth and it shows earth crumbling and buildings being ripped into the sky repeatedly. I thought it was very unrealistic but captured my imagination.
Answer: Hi. It was about the LHC or CERN and the possible formation of black holes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXzugu39p…
Question: What is the most important discovery over the last 100 years? These must not be inventions, but a discovery. Please give a date, the name of the discovery and the discovering individual or group. Please back up your statement with an argument.
Basha C - that's an invention not a discovery.
Answer: Penicillin - discovered in 1928 but not put into wide use until the 1940's. Has saved millions of lives that would have been lost to simple infections.
Question: What exactly is meant by discovery in a child support case? I have been taken back to child support court by my ex. I have filed a counter motion along with 4 other motions and one for a continuance requesting that my ex have to provide the court with absolute proof of his income(self-employed truck driver). The judge denied my request for a continuance and all he said was that I needed to provide him with discovery at the hearing next week. Does anyone know what this means and what is it that I should be doing? Is there a certain form I need to fill out, or what? I really need help with this and have no money to get an attorney or even ask questions of one. What is discovery? If anyone knows, I will be very grateful. Thanks for your help in this.
When the court clerk called to tell me that it was denied, she said that the judge stated,"It is denied because of discovery." Am I on the right track in thinking I have to file a motion of discovery? I assumed that this is what he meant and so did the clerk.
Answer: When a party in a case files a motion of discovery, it means that the other party has to turn over all of the evidence that they will be using during the hearing.
Since the judge is ordering you to turn over your discovery, that means that your ex has filed the motion and you must turn over all of your evidence to the court.
Question: Is Craig Venters discovery the stepping stone to prove the theory of intelligent design? Proof is on the making, I think ,by Craig Venters discovery of creating life in a lab. Many states are banning human animal mixed DNA, and also banning cloning.
It seems now with this latest proof that life can in fact be created, that the idea of intelligent design ( Not God) is no longer a fairy tale, but is indeed the proof to back to the theory of Intelligent design.
What are your thoughts?
Answer: There IS & NEVER can be proof of any sort of wacko superstitious clap-trap,dear.
Question: How did the discovery of kerosene change the process of gathering petroleum? How did the discovery of kerosene change the process of gathering petroleum?
We watched a movie in class and I missed the answer to this question.
Answer: Kerosene was an important commodity in the days before electric lighting and it was the first material to be chemically extracted on a large commercial scale. Mass refinement of kerosene and other petroleum products actually began in 1859 when oil was discovered in the United States. An entire industry evolved to develop oil drilling and purification techniques. Kerosene continued to be the most important refinery product throughout the late 1890s and early 1900s.
Question: Could the discovery of the higgs boson lead to a new energy source? Realistically? I'm not so keen on physics or science in general.. So could one of ya'll crack an egg of knowledge over me please?
After it's discovery, (if we even discover it, assuming that it does exist).. What could be some possible applications?
Answer: The discovery of the Higgs boson is primarily an academically-induced discovery. Itself, it won't yield results in the field of energy production. However, it will provide scientists a better view of the way the most fundamental particles are formed. It will tell us if our current understanding of the Standard Model is complete or if we need an entirely new theory.
I may be wrong as I am not a particle physicist, but with my understanding of particle physics in general, that's what I think it will immediately do.
Question: What was the discovery channel documentary that went down in an underground river? It's a fairly recent documentary, I believe in the past year, and it featured an underground river system either in Mexico or somewhere else in Central America. They showed aerial views of the river mouths, which just looked like little lakes, and then showed divers going down in the water. It was fairly extensive and I want to think it was part of a much larger documentary that moved on to other parts of the world. Does anyone have an idea of what I'm talking about. I'm trying to track that video down and discovery has so many documentaries.
Answer: "Caves"
Equally as impressive, we explore the otherworldly cenotes of the Yucatán Peninsula.

Question: How much is a discovery flight on average? I want to learn how to fly and I know there are discovery flights to introduce you into it, around how much would it cost?
Answer: About $99.00
Question: What would you find more plausible, the discovery of a moral fact or a new subatomic particle? There is a major press conference at the some University. A group of distinguished researchers from psychology, sociology, philosophy, and biology have all gathered to announce an important discovery: the clear and confirmed discovery of a moral fact. Would you find that more or less plausible than the announcement of a similarly distinguished group of researchers from the physics department that they have discovered a new subatomic particle?
Answer: The particle would be a more clear-cut question, and emotionally neutral. I'm not sure what they would mean by a moral fact. You could say that murder (taking an innocent human life) is morally wrong because God says so. Discovering that is as simple as reading the Bible. Or you could say that murder is wrong because research has showed many ways in which a society where murder is prevalent is inferior, or more damaging to people, than one where murder is not prevalent. Perhaps this is what you're thinking of.
Question: What is a scientific discovery that changed the course of science ? I have to write an essay on how a scientific discovery changed the course and science and society .
Any suggestions ?
maybe something slighty intriguing ?
Thanks .
Answer: Joseph Priestly's discovery of oxygen and Antoine Lavoisier's experiments with oxygen that disproved the phogiston theory.
Question: What will the discovery of the Higgs boson mean for everyone else? So the Higgs boson may well be discovered. However, it's difficult to imagine that the money spent on the project is in the interest of science alone. What could such a possible discovery mean at an entrepreneurial level? Could this affect technology over time for instance, and if so, how? Basically, how would lay peoples' lives and perhaps means unwittingly change in a world after discovering the Higgs Boson?
Answer: "entrepreneurial level"? Oh lord, help us all!
Business people know absolutely nothing about the value of science and what actually motivates scientists and researchers. Like religion, business just get in the way of true human progress, in my opinion.
Business should stick to what they're supposed to be doing, serving the needs of the people. Business should leave the value of scientific discovery to the scientists.
The Higg's boson (or something like it) is an absolutely essential piece of knowledge necessary to complete the Standard Model Of Particle Physics and make complete sense of nature. A completed SMOPP could lead to a TOE or theory of everything (a unification of the four known forces of nature). With a TOE in hand, new insight might be had into the manipulation of matter and energy in ways yet undreamed of; thus, opening up new technologies and equally new pathways to the future. The money spent on the search for the Higg's, unlike the unnecessary wars we find ourselves bogged down in, will actually benefit humanity. All areas of scientific research has intrinsic value, unlike most business adventures.

Question: is the evolutionary theory considered a scientific discovery? I have to answer a question asking "what do you think is the most important scientific discovery." I want to answer theory of evolution but is that considered a scientific discovery?
Answer: I'd say rather that a theory is the coherent explanation of a collection of scientific discoveries.
Mendel's laws, the find that mutations occur, Darwin's own studies on the Galapagos islands, different fossils from different geological periods: those were the discoveries. Darwin's evolution theory gave all these facts a solid theoretical basis.
Question: What is the most important discovery or invention in the development of the modern computer? What do you think is the most important discovery or invention in the development of the modern computer? Why?
Answer: microsoft.
Question: How many people did the discovery of the potato in the Americas save? How many people did not die because of the discovery of the potato in Europe?
Answer: Don't know the exact number,, but can you imagine a world without Mr. Potato Head? I would not want to live in a world like that.
Question: Has anybody flew on a discovery flight if so how did you like it? Has anybody flew on a discovery flight if so how did you like it? What did you think of it?
Answer: I've never been on a discovery flight as I was flying with my dad as a child long before I ever decided to take flying lessons (early 20's despite being around aviation for my whole life). However, I used to work at a flight school and so I've seen a lot of people who've taken discovery flights or intro rides, whichever you want to call it. Most people who were interested in aviation enjoyed their experience. Some found that they didn't feel the greatest or that it just wasn't what they thought, but overall most people's enthusiasms were fueled by the experience.
One of the common things I've seen over time from some flight instructors (particularly those who have trained at universities) is the tendency to overwhelm someone on an intro flight. The intro flight should be quick and fun for the student. No need to bother them with technicalities. I've seen too many instructors who start going into huge details (such as how to get a weather briefing, how to do preflight checks, how to check performance requirements, etc) when all they want to do is go for a quick 20 minute ride to see if they like it. I've actually seen a few people who were interested in learning to fly give up and decide not to learn because the instructor saturated them. I really don't know why some instructors do that, whether it's a "look how smart I am" or if they are just used to new people (being from a university) being committed already when beginning lessons. People at the university have already more or less declared their intent to become a professional pilot. Someone at the local flight school is (probably) just wanting to do it for fun.
I guess that was a little bit off topic. I don't know the angle you're asking the question from: that is, are you someone about to take an intro flight and wanting to know what it's like or someone already in the aviation world wondering how people's experiences have been. For the former, have fun and see if you think it's something you can do. If you become discouraged, for example from a situation like I said before, then you might look for a different instructor or flight school. don't become discouraged if you are otherwise interested.
The intro ride should be a fun, 20-30minute experience for a prospective student to have a chance to get up in the air and fly the plane for a little bit. It gives the student a chance to see if he/she likes the feeling and if they would like to pursue such an adventure further.
Question: How do the producers of discovery kids adventure camp choose the contestants? I want to aply for discovery kids adventure camp. Does anyone know how the people choose the kids? Like do they have them come to a place to audition or do they just pick from the videos? And the the answers from the questionnaire make a difference on how they choose?
Answer: Did they announce a new season? plz tell me but i think it's from the videos and the questions do make a difference in their selection make sure you have a lot of confidence in your tape and tell them how much you like animals and stuff like that because that will make you a shoe in for the competition and make sure you're active in the video i hope this helps!!
