Question: What are the guidelines of Formal Debates? I have a class debate in 2 weeks that will be following the guidelines of formal debates but first I have to submit a research paper about the said guidelines. Does anyone know what they are? Can't find any on the internet. Thanks very much.
Answer: it depends on the format there aer 3 main formats Lincoln Douglas, Parliamentary, and student congress if you just look these up you will find everything you need to know
but i will tell you that LD (lincoln douglas) is formatted off of the presidential debate between you guessed it Abraham Lincold and Frederick Douglas and student congress is like a big mess there are no teams and you are just basically fighting a free for alll you raise your hand and the judge calls on you to give a 5 minute speach then the other people can go back and forth and rebuttle for another 3 minutes you can go back and argue with them too during these 3 minutes this happens until everyone has spoken and then a judge ranks the people in order

Question: What are the guidelines for when a person is eligible for capital punishment in the US? A link would be great. I have searched and cannot find the federal guidelines. Are there other crimes other than murder that capital punishment can be used?
Answer: Each State has its own guidelines for capital punishment.
But for the Federal guidelines- there are many- some of which are not murder - although most of them are circumstances that require a death result (such as kidnapping where a death results; attack on an airline where a death results) but there are some like treason, or related to drug kingpins, etc.
Here is a link- it's pretty dense- but it's all there:

Question: What suggestions do you have for guidelines for requesting time off of work? A group of individuals at my workplace are compiling a list of guidelines to follow for when requesting time off of work. Typically when we want time off of work we have to find someone to cover our shift. We want to create guidlines of how long before wanting to take off a person should have to request for the time and the protocol to then follow. Does anyone have ideas to consider when creating these guidlines? Also, does anyone know of any internet websites or resources we could check out that might have guidelines from other businesses? Thanks in advance!
Answer: I would ask for input from the employees in the company. Your specifics may be very different from other companies. Ultimately, you or the group will need to make the decision, but the input will be helpful.
Question: What are three guidelines that the mother should follow to help her twins resolve their conflicts? Abby and Ally are twins with opposite interests and conflicting personalities. They always seem to be fighting over something or over nothing. Their mother is frustrated and has run out of ideas on how to help the twins get along better. Suggest at least three guidelines that their mother should follow to help the twins resolve their conflicts.
Answer: They should have their own rooms. Having their own rooms will let them express them selves as an individual person.
They should have different summer/after school activities. This way they aren't together all the time!
Sit them down and make them tell you why they are really fighting. There has to be something bothering them that makes them want to fight all the time! If they can't do that .. I would suggest having them spend several days apart! That way that they can come back together refreshed.
Question: Any suggestions on guidelines on how to file a civil complaint regarding a property line dispute? We have been going back and forth with our neighbor for over 4 years to keep her off our property, and have her driveway cut so it is not on the property. We are planning on having our lawn redone, but don't want to do it until this issue is resolved. We've had it surveyed, and things like that. She is at fault, and refuses to stop coming on our property. Any suggestions on guidelines on how to file a civil complaint regarding a property line dispute?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Answer: Get the property lines resurveyed by the plat lines noted on your deed at the Register of Deeds Office usually or Tax Assessors Office. Hope this helps..
Question: What are the guidelines to washing the 2006 World Cup Poland jersey? I have to wash my jersey. It came with the PUMA tag of authenticity and all. Do not use bleach.
Use warm water and a mild detergent.
Do not put it in the dryer.
Air dry it to keep shape and size.
Question: What process and guidelines would I need to achieve to actually start a motorcycle club Kentucky? Currently a group of friends and family members of mines are interested in starting our own motorcycle club. We were wanting to know what actual guidelines were needed to be met and how often is there a voting for a new organization to be recognized on set.
Answer: Oh, just make up some jackets, you'll want to agree on if there actually IS club officers or not, but in the least you want a secretary to handle ordering jackets and what-not, and making sure you have the money to pay the screenprinter (or whoever is making the jackets). You don't really need to be too formal about it if you don't want to. Just decide on someplace to hold an informal meeting to get things going, you can usually find a place that'll let you hold a meeting, like a resturaunt or bar, just assuming you'll buy some food and drinks. Decide right away if you'll hold monthly meetings, and if they'll be every month or just during the riding season. If it turns into a bigger club, then you might have to see a lawyer and form a not for profit or LLC. But don't get too far ahead of yourselves. I'd just start it as a loose non chartered club.
Question: What are the guidelines from the state which should be followed by common Indians to face rising prices? Since common people are hit hard by rising prices, government must give them guidelines and suggest them measures to face these trends in the market.
Answer: I have not heard any guidelines given by government to people. However, it is a common thing to all the people to look for hoarders of food grains who are artificially creating the situation.
Question: What does Maximum Income guidelines do apply in renting apartment? We want to look for apartment and we found a good deal for a decent place to live, but I saw this on their website "Maximum Income guidelines do apply" . What do they mean by that?
Answer: The apartment is probably subsidized by the government, which means that the governmnet pays part or all of the rent.
If you make too much money you do not need assistance so the government will not pay your rent. That is what the maximum income guidelines are.
Question: What are the downpayment guidelines when buying a multi-unit investment property? Is it different from a primary home? I am interested in an apartment building to purchase as an investment. What are the guidelines for downpayments on an investment property. Is it the same as a primary home? I have heard that it is not the 10-20% minimal downpayment because if all/most of your units are occupied, this is taken into consideration. Websites are appreciated too. Thanks for your help.
Answer: It'd depend on how much the bank was afraid they'd end up owning it. 20% might do, in good times. If you have good assetts or cash flow to assure them, it'd help.
Try looking at loopnet, com - It's a commercial real estate web site, well organised for searching. You could get some idea of what terms are being offered "by owner".
There are some areas where a bank would practically give you a small apartment building- Detroit, for example.
If you know what else is available, it'll help negotiating with the seller - talk about the other places you are looking at, and excellent terms available. Never act like you want to buy what they're selling. More like " well, this might do, if it's a real good deal"
Question: What are some good guidelines for writing a lengthy ghost story? I'vee been reading some Gothic tales and some other books similar to James' Turn of the Screw.
But does anyone personally know any good tips or guidelines or, at least, have any good guidebooks to suggest?
Thanks.
Answer: keep it interesting and keep the reader guessing. end the book with a surprise ending that the reader wasn't suspecting. Some of the best ghost stories as well as ghost inspired movies follow those guidelines and are amazing (movies: the sixth sense). hope this helps.
Question: What are the guidelines for prehospital hyperventilation of head injury patients? Paramedics in Canada, have in the past been told to hyperventilate head injury patients to decrease ICP. I know that I have recently read studies and different guidelines that do not recommend hyperventilation prehospital at all. I am interested in hearing any input either for or against. I have been searching the Canadian Heart and Stroke guidelines for anything related and I can't find what I am looking for. Also, if any medics from other countries have any protocals or guidelines for the same you could share.
Answer: "Current Statewide Basic Life Support Adult and Pediatric Treatment Protocols stipulate that hyperventilation, at a rate of 20 breaths per minute in an adult and 25 breaths per minute in a child, should be employed in major trauma whenever a head injury is suspected, the patient is not alert, the arms and legs are abnormally flexed and/or extended, the patient is seizing, or has a Glasgow Coma Scale of less than 8. The State Emergency Medical Advisory Committee has reviewed these protocols, and concludes, on the basis of recent scientific evidence, that in the patient with severe traumatic brain injury (Glasgow Coma Scale score < or = to 8) following open or closed head injury, aggressive hyperventilation should be avoided in the prehospital setting, unless there are active seizures or signs of transtentorial herniation.
Although hyperventilation was used throughout the 1970s and 1980s in the acute management of severe traumatic brain injury, its use has undergone critical reappraisal in recent years. This has occurred following the publication of several reports linking excessive hyperventilation (PaCO2 < 25 mm Hg) to cerebral ischemia, as well as a large prospective randomized study which failed to demonstrate any benefit, but instead demonstrated a slight detriment, to head injured adult patients ventilated to achieve a PaCO2 of 25 mm Hg versus head injured adult patients ventilated to achieve a PaCO2 of 35 mm Hg."

Question: What are the best guidelines for handling multiple credit cards? I have heard several times that if I have a credit card that I do not use, that I should not cancel the card, but just cut it up and cease using it instead. This apparently will prevent my credit score from decreasing. What are some of the other rules or guidelines for helping my credit score?
Answer: First, the reason you should not cancel the card is not because "canceling a card hurts your credit." Really, your score is determined based upon a complicated formula which looks at many factors including the duration of your current credit and the percentage of credit which you have access to that you have used. As a result, canceling the card not only unnecessarily limits the amount of available credit which you have access to, but it also closes a line of credit which is in good standing. Closed accounts drop off your report after seven years, so it is good to keep accounts in good standing open.
As for tips to build your credit, I would offer these actions: (1) pay your credit card off in full each month, (2) pay all bills on time; (3) monitor your report to ensure that there are no fraudulent accounts on your report; (4) do not "max out" your credit cards, even if you are going to pay them off; and (5) do not continuously apply for unnecessary credit.
